Giants lose the final game to the Panthers 31-24.
Jesse Palmer completed 18 of 43 passes for 110 yards, 2 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
Amani Toomer had 4 catches for 47 yards and 1 touchdown.
Tiki Barber had 9 carries for 40 yards.
Osi Umenyiora had 2 blocked punts, and a sack forced a fumble that was recovered for a touchdown.
Michael Strahan had 1 sack.
Game Notes:
"They ended up with a 4-12 record, but it doesn't matter. As a fan, you have to love this Giants team. There's always excitement in the Meadowlands when they take the field, and you never
know what's going to happen. Head coach Jim Fassel in his final game was out there on the field, falling down as he tried to drag Frank Walker away
from from a fight a possible penalty. Next Fassel was screaming at the refs for an early whistle that cost the Giants a fumble recovery and touchdown.
Jesse Palmer was trying to make a go of it as the quarterback, but somehow Brian Mitchell popped up as the quarterback for a few plays.
Osi Umenyiora came alive with two blocked punts and thoxskgbaillllr.g/ldglllllllllllllllllllasefsf....."
Game Notes:
"Even though the Panthers got an early lead, you could tell they never felt comfortable with it. The Giants kept bringing it on, and it was
one hell of an exciting game despite the fact that the Panthers were headed to the playoffs, and the Giants could barely field a healthy team.
Carolina jumped out to an early 20-0 lead. Yonwesdffwkfn k.fill/wenzx c ajdjh.FFF.lllllllllllll/....

Notes:
Giants DE Osi Umenyiora blocked two punts on Sunday, the first time the Giants have done that in one game since
Oct. 9, 1943.
It was against the Philadelphia-Pittsburgh Steegles, a team comprised of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia players during World War II.
Jim Fassel ended his seven-year Giants head coaching career with an eight-game losing streak, over which the Giants were outscored, 219-78. With a disappointing
4-12 mark this season, Fassel finished with a 58-53-1 record. Michael Strahan now has 17 this season to lead the league.
Giants lost their eight consecutive game and fell to 4-12.
This was the first time in Jim Fassel's 7 years as head coach that the Giants had lost 8 games in a row.
This was the Giants longest losing streak since 1980 and most losses since '83, Bill Parcells' first season.
UPDATE:
Michael Strahan was given an extra half-sack in Sunday's game, giving him a league-leading 18½.
Next Game
None until next season.
