Giants lose to the Cowboys 19-3.
Jesse Palmer completed 18 of 32 passes for 190 yards and was sacked 5 times.
Amani Toomer had 5 catches for 66 yards.
Tiki Barber had 13 carries for 47 yards.
Tiki Barber had 5 catches for 55 yards.
Michael Strahan had 3 sacks.
Game Notes:
"Most of the excitement for this game came right away in the first quarter. The Cowboys opened up with a 64 yard pass completion and were at the Giants 4 yard line in one play. Luckily
they then had a false start penalty and our defense kept them out of the endzone. After Dallas kicked the fieldgoal, the Giants came back with one of their own, a long 45 yarder from Matt
Bryant to tie the score at 3-3.
Strahan got his first sack of the day on the Cowboys next possession to take them three and out, and it looked like maybe we were going to have a shot.
Then the Cowboys scored their only touchdown of the game and went up 10-3. There was more excitement when the refs did a good job reversing a bad call they made on Tiki Barber near the end
of the half. They had said he fumbled, and that it was recovered in the endzone by the Cowboys for a touchdown. Still, the Cowboys got the ball with good field position after the punt, and
they closed out the half with a fieldgoal to put them up 13-3.
If you had any hopes of the Giants coming out with a better second half scheme, you lost any confidence when the Giants went three and out, followed by Jeff Feagles making a nice punt and
then also having to make the tackle. That gave the Cowboys the ball at the Giants 22 yard line and they got as far down as the 2 yard line, but our defense hung tough, and the Cowboys had
to settle for a field goal to make it 16-3. It's too bad that our offense couldn't get anything going at all, because the only other scoring for Dallas came on a 49 yard field goal to make
it 19-3.
Uncle Bill did a good job with his team, and his win against the Giants put them into the playoffs. It should be interesting to close out the season next week at the stadium. I'm wondering
if Kerry Collins will be healthy enough to start to give us more of a chance against the Panthers for Fassel's last game with the Giants."
Game Notes:
"The Giants played up to their skill level, which of course wasn't near good enough to win against a Cowboys team headed to the playoffs.
At least the effort was there this week, and even though the offense didn't score a touchdown, the defense held Dallas to just one. The Giants scored
only 7 points in each of the last three games, but couldn't come up with even one touchdown this week.
Matt Bryant prevented a shutout by kicking a long 45 yard fieldgoal in the first quarter, but that was it. They could actually have had another in the second half on a 4th and 2 from the Cowboys
12 yard line. Fassel, looking at the bigger picture and the 16-3 score, went for the first down instead but they failed to make it.
The defense was in this game all the way, led by Michael Strahan and his 3 sacks. On offense, quarterback Jesse Palmer looked good at times in only his second start. I thought his game awareness
was much improved. He didn't hang onto the ball too long and was able to get rid of it in bad situations. Even though Palmer was sacked five times, four of those came in the fourth quarter
when it was easy pickings for Dallas to tee off on the Giants stuck in obvious passing situations."

Notes:
Michael Strahan now has 17 this season to lead the league.
Giants lost their seventh consecutive game and fell to 4-11.
This is the first time in Jim Fassel's 7 years as head coach that the Giants have lost 7 games in a row.
A Giants loss next week would be the longest losing streak since 1980 and most losses since '83, Bill Parcells' first season.
Giants punter Jeff Feagles punted from the deepest point in the end zone in his 16 NFL seasons.
Quincy Carter became the first Dallas QB to throw for more than 3,000 yards since Troy Aikman in 1997.
Cowboys Billy Cundiff's four field goals raised his season total against the Giants to 11.
That's nearly half of his total of 23 field goals for the season.
Bill Parcells became the first NFL coach to have at least 10 wins in a season with four teams.
