Giants lose to the Bills 24-7.
Kerry Collins completed 17 of 35 passes for 233 yards and one touchdown.
Tiki Barber had 12 carries for only 20 yards.
Amani Toomer had 3 catches for 110 yards and 1 touchdown.
Toomer's 77 yard catch for a touchdown was the Giants longest of the season.
Ike Hilliard caught 5 passes for 42 yards.
Michael Strahan and Brandon Short each had 1 sack.
Game Notes:
"When I saw the flag thrown on the first play of the game with the Bills kicking off, I was thinking the worst. Brian Mitchell had taken the ball to the 21, and I thought we were going
to be starting off at the 11, but for a change, the flag was against the Bills. On the re-kick, Nick Greisen took it to the 31. Of course Kerry Collins tripped on the first offensive play,
barely getting the ball over to Tiki Barber for 1 yard, and I had that 'Oh-No' feeling again. Collins hurried his next throw but on 3rd and 9, Ike Hilliard caught the ball, did some fancy
footwork and got the first down.
Then on first down, Tiki ran the ball and the second flag of the game was thrown, again against the Bills for a 5 yard facemask penalty. Then Tiki ran again and the refs stopped the game,
and we didn't know what was going on or what down it was. There was lots of confusion on the field that lasted way too long if you were sitting in the stands. What had started as a fairly
nice day got much more dreary and cold just two minutes into the game waiting while the clock and field position got sorted out. This drive ended with Kerry Collins getting sacked twice in
a row and scrambling around after fumbling the ball. The Giants at fourth down and 14 on the Bills 34 yard line had Feagles punt, and thanks to a penalty on the Giants, the Bills got the ball
back at their own 33 yard line. Now four minutes into the game, I knew we were in for a long day.
The second quarter had a lot of action. Drew Bledsoe, avoiding a pass rush, spun around in a full circle and threw a complete pass. At one point in the second quarter, it looked like Fassel
was going to throw punches at the refs for a lousy personal foul call on Stoutmire. Catches were made on tipped balls and Strahan got a sack.
To make it short, except for one long beautiful 77 yard touchdown pass to Amani Toomer, the Giants never got going on offense, and finally, that short tough running back on the Bills (Travis
Henry) kept chugging away until our defense was too worn down to stop him."
Game Notes:
"The Giants couldn't beat a quarterback who suffered all week long from a concussion, and a running back playing with a cracked bone in his
leg. They couldn't stop an offense that's ranked 29th in the league from scoring 24 points against them. The Giants also showed how hard it is to have offense without an effective front line.
You knew they were in trouble the minute you heard that starting left tackle Luke Petitgout wasn't going to be playing in this game.
Kerry Collins couldn't back up fast enough to avoid the charging Buffalo Bills or his own line which tripped him up twice. The way things were going, it looked like they'd be better off putting
the long snapper at center and heaving the ball to Collins about 20 yards behind the line. Even some minor line blocking would give Collins at least 3 seconds to throw, something he'd be glad
to have these days. Just joking of course, besides, who could afford the occasional 20 plus yard sack?
Anyway, you can't really blame this one on Fassel. At least he used some imagination having Collins passing downfield to Toomer on a first down, instead of just automatically feeding the ball
to Tiki Barber. Since the Giants got back to .500 with their last victory over the Jets, they've lost 4 games and have been outscored 98-37. In this game, the Bills had the ball for almost
40 minutes compared to the Giants 20. Let's just hope that Luke is back for next week's game against Washington so at least they have a shot."

Notes:
Giants scored on a 77-yard pass from Kerry Collins to Amani Toomer in the 2nd quarter for their only points in the
game.
Michael Strahan has now sacked 53 different quarterbacks.
Kerry Collins needed 185 passing yards for his fourth consecutive 3,000-yard season, and he got 233.
Tiki Barber needed just 27 yards to reach 1,000 for the third time in his career, but he got only 20.
Four of the Giants last five first-round draft choices were on the inactive list for various reasons.
Luke Petitgout (1999), Ron Dayne (2000), Jeremy Shockey (2002) and William Joseph (2003) were not in uniform, and Will Allen (2001) left the game in the third quarter with a sprained foot.
This is the first time in Jim Fassel's 7 years as head coach that the Giants have lost 4 games in a row.
Giants lost their fifth in a row at home for the first time since 1983, when they went 3-12-1.
That was Bill Parcells' first season as the Giants head coach.
