Atlanta broke a seven-game losing streak with a win over the Giants 27-7.
Kerry Collins was 25-of-40 for 202 yards and 2 interceptions.
Tiki Barber had 16 carries for 120 yards.
Tiki Barber caught 10 passes for 38 yards.
Tiki Barber lost 2 fumbles and recovered a fumble by Kerry Collins.
Tim Carter had 4 catches for 56 yards.
Amani Toomer had 4 catches for 33 yards.
Jeremy Shockey had 3 catches for 46 yards and left late in the 4th quarter with a knee injury.
Michael Strahan had 1 sack.

Game Notes:
"This wasn't the best game to be at. It was a bit chilly, and the way the Giants played didn't make you feel warm and fuzzy. They let the Falcons score right away on their opening drive
and then went 3 and out. Atlanta got the ball back, and suddenly the refs got flag happy, first against the Giants, and then against the Falcons. It got really weird, because soon there were
more flags flying in the air than footballs.
It was hard for either team to get anything going for very long, and when it looked like the Giants might even the
game up, Tiki fumbled the ball away and Atlanta had it at their own 22 yard line right near the end of the 1st quarter. It seemed like the Giants were playing the World Champion Falcons instead
of the 1-7 Falcons up until they had their next possession.
Kerry Collins really mixed it up, using almost the whole offense on this drive. Marcellus Rivers caught a pass. Tiki Barber ran for 18 yards. Ike Hilliard
caught a 10 yards pass, and then Barber ran again. Jeremy Shockey and Amani Toomer caught passes. Finally Dorsey Levens ran the ball in for a 2 yard touchdown, and Brett Conway kicked the
extra point to tie up the game at 7-7.
It looked like the Giants were back on track, but they never scored again against the Falcons who usually give up 30 points a game. The Giants got close to
scoring near the end of the half when they got to the Atlanta 20 yard line, but Kerry Collins threw an interception in the end zone.
Collins threw another interception in the 3rd quarter, and the ball was run back to the Giants 8 yard line. The defense had a chance to stop them from scoring when Dan Reeves had them go for
it on a 4th and 1, but Atlanta ran it in to go up 20-7.
Tiki fumbled the ball away in the 4th quarter at the Atlanta 5 yard line, and that was enough for a lot of the fans. Anyone who hung around to see the Falcons
score again and then stayed on when Fassel put in backup quarterback Jessie Palmer was either a real die hard fan, or just enjoyed booing him and the team. Like I said, it wasn't the best
game to be at."

Game Notes:
"The Giants slept through the first quarter, started the second quarter real strong and then blew scoring opportunities over the rest of the
game.
I'm sure Jim Fassel will hang his head, look somber and say he warned all the players that this was a trap game. Sure, the players made mistakes. Tiki Barber did fumble twice and Kerry Collins
threw those 2 interceptions, but the fact is that a big part of the blame goes to the head coach / offensive coordinator. Somehow Fassel couldn't see that the Falcons were giving him the run
at the expense of covering the pass. By the end of the first half, the Giants were averaging 7.9 yards a rush against 4.8 a pass.
I kept yelling at the TV screen for Fassel to run the ball with Levens and Barber, but that hasn't worked for me before and it didn't work again today. As
the game moved on, you could see that something was wrong with Ike Hilliard, and Shockey wasn't a hundred percent either. That's not good for the passing game, but Fassel was in love with
that empty backfield shotgun formation and refused to give up on it, even though Dan Reeves had obviously done his homework. There were a few long passes, but that was the exception, and Collins
came away with 202 passing yards this game, close to his lowest, and clearly his lowest average a pass this season at 4.2.
Tiki Barber meanwhile, and you can see where I'm going here, averaged 7.5 yards a carry which is his high this season and nearly double what he usually gets.
His total of 120 yards is near the top, and he would have easily logged the most this game with more attempts.
Jim Fassel, it worked once before. Let someone else call the plays, and maybe nobody will have to hang their heads or lose their job."
