Giants lose to the Bengals 23-22.
Eli Manning completed 19 of 37 passes for 201 yards with 1 interception.
Tiki Barber rushed 22 times for 109 yards and 1 touchdown.
Steve Christie hit on five field goals of 42, 31, 36, 44 and 41 yards.
Ron Dayne rushed 6 times for 33 yards.
Jeremy Shockey caught 6 passes for 64 yards.
Ike Hilliard had 4 catches for 46 yards.
Amani Toomer had 3 catches for 35 yards.

Game Notes:
"That was really disappointing. I thought for sure we were going to win it this time, the way things were going in the second half. The offense kept moving the ball, making first downs, but except for that first touchdown, the Giants couldn't put the big points up on the board.
Steve Christie did a good job kicking five field goals in a row, but the Bengals took their third and fourth quarter drives down all the way into the endzone for touchdowns. The guys played hard, but were one first-down short on offense. Then the defense came up short stopping the Bengals on a fourth-and-ten, and finally the Giants ended up one point short on the scoreboard.
Now we wait until next week, and the final game of the season at home against Dallas, to see if Eli Manning can win his first game as a pro quarterback in the NFL."

Game Notes:
"This was a close game that could have gone either way. So close that you have to wonder if Will Peterson was the starter instead of Frank Walker, maybe things would have been different. On a third and five from the Giants 32, Jon Kitna completed a 17 yard pass to T.J. Houshmandzadeh with Walker covering, and that set up the Bengals first touchdown. Holding them on that play could have resulted in a crucial 4 point difference. You never know of course, because that was early in the game and situations vary.
We do know that when Will Peterson was on the field, he did fine and even ended up with the team high 6 tackles. Walker did have one interception, but that was on a fourth down play and the ball would have been turned over to the Giants anyway. Coughlin should know what's best for the team, but Walker has a few years of learning ahead of him before he can play like Will Peterson, and Coughlin's decision to demote Peterson as some form of punishment may have cost the Giants the game. It may have been too late, but In the second quarter Tom Coughlin did put Peterson back to his corner spot for the rest of the game."
