Game Notes:
"It was a beautiful day to be at the stadium, and I'm not talking just the weather. The Giants started out real strong on both offense and defense and before long we were up 7-0. It looked like they were going to totally control the game. Kurt Warner looks better each week, and he was hitting everyone with the ball. The defense was all over Jeff Garcia, and we had great field position throughout the first half.
Still, all that only put us up 10-0, and the Browns almost cut that down to only a 3 point lead when they tried for a cheapie hail Mary pass to end the half. Luckily, that didn't work.
Right after the break, the refreshed and renewed Browns started moving the ball until Strahan sacked Garcia. Before I knew it though, I saw Strahan on the sideline getting his hand taped up. With Strahan off the field, Garcia completed a king-size 12 yard pass to Andre King, and followed it up with a hot 9 yard pass to Chad Mustard (Sorry, I just had to get that in).
Strahan came back and put an end to this sudden Cleveland surge and my horrible rap when he recovered Jeff Garcia's fumbled snap at the Giants 5 yard line.
Now on offense, the Giants marched the ball all the way back downfield to the Browns 1 yard line, where Kurt Warner ran it in for the touchdown. The Giants were up 17-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter and after watching Kurt Warner out there, the concept of Eli Manning seems superfluous.
"

Game Notes:
"Ron Dayne was a gametime scratch and did not get to play because of a swollen calf. That gave us a chance to see how Mike Cloud could perform in his place. Coughlin had been using Ron Dayne almost as much as Tiki Barber, but Cloud didn't get near the use that Tiki did with his 23 carries. That's likely because Cloud, a late pickup after being cut from the Patriots, was still learning the playbook. Cloud gained 12 yards on his six carries, but one of them was a five yard run into the endzone for a touchdown.
Rookie Gibril Wilson, filling in for strong safety Shaun Williams, did real well today. He led the team with eight tackles and had one interception on a Jeff Garcia hail-Mary downfield toss into the endzone to end the first half.

If you left the stadium early, you missed seeing the ball being snapped over Jeff Garcia's head and recovered by Michael Strahan at the Cleveland 1 yard line. The Giants could have taken probably taken it in for a score on the next few plays with 1:22 left on the clock, but how often do they get to be magnanimous, and besides it goes against their grain to win a game by more than 17 points."
