Tiki Barber ran for 70 yards on 22 carries.
Tiki Barber also caught 7 passes for 102 yards.

Jeremy Shockey caught 2 passes for 25 yards.

Steve Christie kicked field goals of 19 and 25 yards.

Game Notes:
"I was really hoping the Giants would be 5-1 after today's game. It's no fun trooping over to the stadium and see them lose after getting your early season hopes up so high. I'll just hope this setback is temporary and look at the bright side of things.
Tiki Barber had another one of his great games. It looked like he was running all the way to the Pro Bowl when he caught that pass from Kurt Warner and took it 62 yards for a touchdown. Amani Toomer had two nice long catches and old reliable Ike Hilliard had four or five.

It was fun watching Jeremy Shockey catch one and take it 19 yards. I don't think we saw enough of him this game, although they mixed things up, throwing to tight end Visanthe Shiancoe and fullback Jim Finn. Rookie Jamaar Taylor looked good in his first game, with two catches.
There were some good defensive plays up front, and three sacks, but Joey Harrington completed way too many passes against us and they were able to run the ball.

One more thing. Let's stop it with this 'Green Zone' stuff. I've heard so much political spin these past two months, I don't need the head coach adding more. It's the 'Red Zone', especially if it stops you just about all the time you play in it. So far the Giants are a long way from deserving the right to call it anything else. Guys, put some stats up for me when you get a chance. I don't have the exact numbers at hand."

Game Notes:
"All I can say is 'Curses', and I mean curses. The Boston Red Sox thought they had it bad dealing with 'The Curse of the Bambino', but the Giants are struggling with 'The Curse of the Bye Week' if you look at how poorly they've done so far playing off it. They are now 3-13 in games coming off the bye week. Strangely, they are 13-3 in games before the bye week. That sounds like some kind of curse-like thing. Doesn't it?

If that's not bad enough, there's now also 'The Curse of the Mariucci' going back to when Steve Mariucci coached the 49ers to that wild playoff win over Jim Fassel's Giants. There may also be lurking out there 'The Curse of the Barrett Green'. That would be Tom Coughlin's own private curse thinking he could sit Green out of this game against the lowly Lions in order to teach his defensive star player and the rest of the team a 'valuable' lesson.

Yes Tom, you are the almighty unquestionable head coach super god of the team. Enjoy the curse, the same one you wear like a badge. Make life tough for everyone who has to deal with you, and instead of being looked up to, be viewed as some power hungry petty little man. Coach yourself instead with some good people skills, and you'll likely get more out of everyone in the long run. Maybe then everyone could see some of the very good things you do without distraction and you'll get your proper due.

Hey, maybe I'm being a little harsh about this one loss, and we're all just suffering from 'The Curse of the Siragusa'. It was brought on when FOX felt it necessary to air the big guy coaching a bunch of 5 year olds while the Giants were busy trying to make a comeback drive and cut the lead to 1 point. FOX cut in to air this foolish distraction showing that they weren't taking the Giants or this game very seriously any longer.

FOX couldn't even recover some of the game cameras after the showing, they were laughing (to themselves) so hard about the nonsense. It probably rubbed off on us, the players, broadcasters, onlookers and all. Damn that Tony Siragusa and his whole idiot broadcasting group."
