Game Notes:
"Halloween or not, the next time the Giants come to town, the Minnesota fans should just lock the doors, stay home and hide under their beds. How many times do they want to see their cherished team crushed by the Giants at the Metrodome where they usually rule the field? This game started off bad for the Vikings on their very first possession when they let Kevin Lewis scoop up a fumbled ball they thought to be a dropped pass, and take it back 16 yards to their 22 yard line. Mike Tice lost the challenge and a timeout on that one."

"Feeling good about our luck, I was given my own scare when the Giants took the field. They looked even worse than last week. Kurt Warner was sacked for 4 yards, Tiki Barber, our running star, got only 1 yard on his chance, and Warner was sacked again, this time for 8 yards. Still, Steve Christie came out and kicked a 50 yard field goal, and you had to figure it was the Giants day. After all, how many times can you have an offensive series that gives up 2 sacks and 11 yards, and still come away with points? Mike Tice lost his second and last challenge, also in the first quarter. That's when our special team guys, David Tyree kept the ball from bouncing into the end zone and Curtis Deloatch pushed it out of bounds, to down the ball inside their 1 yard line."

"Nothing went right for the Vikings today. In fact, Minnesota seems to bring out the best of the Giants. This game was as impressive as last week's against Detroit was disappointing. Unlike then, the Giants scored every time they were in the red zone for 4 touchdowns and 1 field goal, and that accounted for the next 31 points. They held the Vikings scoreless for three quarters and even passed up a last minute field goal so as to not run up the score. Culpepper led Minnesota in rushing with 32 yards, so you know how well the Giants shut them down, including playing smart on special teams. What more could you want? How about that the Giants play this good against Chicago next week?"

Game Notes:
"A year ago the Giants went into the noisy Metrodome, took on the undefeated Minnesota Vikings, and came away with a win.
They did so again today. The Giants have handled the Vikings and Culpepper before, and in Minnesota. Now they have won three out of four in the Metrodome against Culpepper. Although he threw 4 touchdowns when beating the Giants in the 2001 game, they have held him to only 3 since. Two last year, and one in 4th quarter garbage time today. The Giants have intercepted Culpepper 9 times in five games, including the 41-0 NFC championship game after the 2000 season.
Culpepper was working without a healthy Randy Moss who nursed his sore hamstring in the first half and didn't play in the second, but still had a lot of targets. Coming into this game, five Vikings receivers have had 20 or more receptions, and Culpepper has hit six different receivers in the end zone to account for his 19 touchdown passes. It seems like the Giants know how to shut this quarterback down."

"For the Giants, Amani Toomer was questionable for this game with a strained hamstring. Given the opportunity, he tried to make every play count. Toomer had 3 catches for 31 yards, second to Jeremy Shockey who caught 3 for 60 yards. Shockey was stopped short of a touchdown by less than a yard twice this game, but the Giants scored each time. Kurt Warner spread the ball around hitting Jamaar Taylor, Tiki Barber, Ike Hilliard, Jim Finn, Visanthe Shiancoe, and Willie Ponder. Warner did have some problems handling the ball in this noisy stadium. Kurt fumbled three times, but the ball was recovered each time.

Culpepper was intercepted by Gibril Wilson, and he tried to take it back to the goalposts running it back 39 yards. Wilson also led the defense with 6 tackles, 5 solo and 1 assist. Will Allen had his first interception of the year, and Mike Cloud did well in this game as the second running back. He scored 2 rushing touchdowns, was able to get short yardage and even broke one for 26 yards. He Cloud was hit in the head in the fourth quarter, and Tiki took over for all the running plays.
Ron Dayne was inactive for this game. They say it was because wide receiver Willie Ponder had to be active in case Toomer couldn't continue to play because of his sore hamstring. They also had to activate Gret Walker because Shaun O'Hara was out and they needed offensive line depth. Cloud was in ahead of Dayne because he plays on special teams."
