Game Notes:
"It was hard to imagine the level of excitement at the game today for Eli Manning's first start. Everyone was hoping that
maybe, just maybe, Eli could make the difference for the Giants. There were a lot of dropped passes that didn't help him out, and it only shows that the Giants are equal opportunity players.
They drop the ball for Eli the same way they do for Kurt Warner.
It did get better in the second half with Shockey and Toomer redeeming themselves. We ended up losing the game, but all I know is that it was very loud at Giants stadium for the first time
in a long time, and I feel we have a shot next week against the Eagles with Eli Manning in the game."
Game Notes:
"This game wasn't only about winning or losing. It was about how Eli Manning looks for the future of the Giants, and he
had a very good first outing. Eli handled himself well in the pocket. He only rushed his throws a few times. The speed of the game didn't seem to overwhelm him, and overall, he didn't rush
his throws. Eli made a few mistakes, but the Giants lost by only 4 points, and with some better play from his teammates, could have won.
Eli's composure was great for a quarterback starting in his first game, and does it look like Kurt Warner will be making an appearance on the field any time soon? They might as well cut him
his final paycheck and say 'Thank you. Good-bye! That's not a knock on Kurt though. I think he did exactly what they said they wanted - play it safe and no turnovers and all. It just wasn't
what they really needed and they didn't realize it.
I do have to say that the game wouldn't have been as close as it was if they didn't go with the 'Michael Vick quarterback development concern' in the second half. Right now he is a running
back who also throws sometimes. They didn't have him run and went with his arm. I'm not saying that this is a bad idea or that it's not going to work, but Vick is in the transitional stage
right now, and they were lucky to get away with it.
This week the Giants faced Michael Vick, a running back who can also throw. Next week they face Donovan McNabb, a quarterback who can also run. Let's hope they have better luck."

Notes:
Tiki Barber had his 7th 100-yard rushing game of the season and
20th of his career.
That broke Joe Morris' team mark.
Tiki Barber now has 1,035 yards rushing, his third straight 1,000-yard season.
Amani Toomer caught a pass in his 93rd consecutive game.
Jeremy Shockey caught his 5th TD pass of 2004, one more than in his first two seasons combined.
Eli Manning's first TD pass was a 6-yarder - just like his father Archie's first TD pass in 1972, and just like his brother Peyton's first TD pass in 1998.
Giants allowed only one sack -- their lowest total this season.
LG Jason Whittle suffered a mild concussion and a neck burner late in the game.
Atlanta has scored first in 9 out of their 10 games.
Atlanta became the first team to beat the Giants at Giants Stadium in 3 straight seasons since the Redskins did the same, from 1981-83.
