Game Notes:
"If you were at the game today, it was a thrill to see Willie Ponder returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown, especially with way too many Steeler fans hanging around. How did so many of them end up in our stadium? Anyway, the Steelers took over on offense and were looking good until Frank Walker came up with a big interception.
I couldn't believe it and was wondering it the Giants luck could continue from the special teams unit to the defense and now onto the offense? Well it looked like it couldn't, because they went three and out. Pittsburgh quickly tied the game up at 7-7 and once again we had the ball. This time the offense was very good and Eli Manning finished the drive with a 2 yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Shockey. The Steeler fans were quiet, and I was feeling pretty good.
We didn't win this game, but the Giants moved the ball and you could see they were really in this one. The Giants came close to winning and we got to see Eli Manning being very effective for the first time. I'll take that and go home happy, looking forward to seeing the next game for a change."

Game Notes:
"Special teams played good. The offense was there, and the front line defense did the job. However, to beat a 12-1 team on a roll with a number 1 ranked defense, you have to have absolutely everything going for you, and the Giants secondary didn't do their part. I know it seems strange to say since they came up with two Ben Roethlisberger interceptions, but that group also cost us the game.
It wasn't like there wasn't enough up front pressure on Roethlisberger and they had to spend extra time covering. Roethlisberger was making deep plays all day long even though he was chased down and sacked 3 times. One time Roethlisberger just tossed it up and it could have been anybody's ball, but instead it went for a long completion between two Giants defenders. This game was there for the taking today, and the secondary just gave it away.
On the plus side, the Giants played a hell of a game in the face of adversity, injuries, long losing streaks and what have you. Eli Manning looked like he's figuring things out, and I can't wait to see these tough eager guys play against Cincinnati next week."
