The Giants kept at it until the last play scoring two fourth quarter TDs.
Michael Strahan had 1 sack, and broke the NFL single season sack record.
Ike Hilliard had an 8 yard touchdown catch.
Ron Dayne had a record breaking 61-yard run.
Kerry Collins was 36-59 for 386 yds, with 1 TD and 2 INTs.
Joe Jurevicius was the leading receiver with 8 catches for 82 yards.
Greg Comella had 7 catches for 59 yards.

That was the last game of the season.
"It was almost as exciting as the one last week against the Eagles. On Strahan's first chance in the game, it looked like he would break the sack record. All eyes were on him, including his teammates, I think, because as he closed in on Favre, Brett was able to unleash a 23 yard pass to someone called Bubba Franks."

Strahan had to wait until the last minutes of the fourth quarter to get his sack.
"
Yeah, and seeing all those fans leave in the third quarter made me mad. I mean, how many times do you face traffic with these games, and they missed out on seeing a piece of Giants history being made first hand. Strahan's sack is about all we can take away from this season, and they let it get away from them just to save some time. I hope they enjoyed hearing it happen over the car radio."

It seemed like a long season.
"It really did, especially watching the special teams play. They were no better this game either. There were some real big kickoff returns by Green Bay today, including that one for 54 yards. By the way, Green Bay fans, don't believe what anyone tells you. Wearing a cheesehead doesn't make you look cool."

Got any last thoughts for the Giants?
"Make sure you bring back Jason Sehorn. You need him, and besides, I love that guy!"

The Packers handled the Giants.
"The Packers handled the Giants, but just like all season long, the Giants had their moments. Strahan almost got Favre on his first attempt. There was a 61-yard run by Ron Dayne. Ike Hilliard made an amazing catch, keeping his toes on the one inch line for a touchdown. A 50-yard field goal attempt by Morten Andersen was good, but was called back because of a penalty. To keep the excitement going, they switched kickers, putting in Owen Pochman, who has a stronger leg than Andersen, to try it from 55 yards, but he missed wide left. Brett Favre gave a nice performance, throwing for 315 yards and two touchdowns.

There was a lot going on.
"Yes, and a bunch more. Greg Comella had a nice 26 yard catch. Toomer made some really tough catches. Collins threw a total of 59 passes, completing 36 for 386 yards.
There was a bad 25-yard pass interference call against Dave Thomas for the fans to let off some steam by booing the refs. Fassel was mad as hell about that one. Tiki Barber had a 10-yard touchdown run. Ron Dayne had a 1-yard TD run. To cap things off, Strahan got his sack to break the NFL sack record in the final minutes."

What more could you want?
"Exactly, except for maybe a win, to finish the season at 8-8 instead of 7-9, behind the Eagles and even the Washington Redskins, who started off their season going 0-5. Fassel was on the sidelines hugging Strahan after his accomplishment. They huddled for a long time, and I was wondering if he was whispering, 'Now go out there and get that ball. I still want to win this one!' It was a good effort by the Giants.
"

Got any last thoughts for the Giants?
"Note that Mike Barrow had a great year. Pay Ike Hilliard the money he deserves this time around. He's worth it. Also, maybe get a pass catching tight end like you've been promising for so many years, so there's a chance to win the division next year."

Notes
Michael Strahan broke the 17-year-old single-season sack record of 22, set by Mark Gastineau, when he caught Bret Favre on a naked rollout with 2:42 remaining in the game.

Mark Gastineau was at the game to honor Strahan.

Kerry Collins became the first QB in NFL history to throw every pass for one team in two consecutive seasons.

Kerry Collins set new team season records for attempts and completions.
He surpassed Phil Simms' record for attempts (533 in 1984) and broke his own record for completions (311 last season).

Kerry Collins threw 59 passes, but the Giants are 0-14 in their history when they throw at least 50 passes.

Kerry Collins finished the season with 22 fumbles, one more than the record set in 1996 by Tony Banks. One or more may be overturned following review this week by the Elias Sports Bureau.

Ron Dayne rushed 10 times for 81 yards with one touchdown and had a career best 61-yard run in the second quarter.

Tiki Barber's six receptions gave him a career-high 72.

Amani Toomer had five receptions for 79 yards, becoming the first Giant to register three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons since Homer Jones (1966-68).

Joe Jurevicius had a career-high 8 receptions for 82 yards in what may have been his last game with the Giants, as he is now a free agent.

Mike Barrow had 11 tackles to set a team record with 137 tackles, surpassing Jessie Armstead's 134 in 1997.

The Giants gained 524 total yards, the 7th-highest total in team history and their most yards since they had 535 against the Saints in 1967.

The Packers would have won the Central Division title and a first-round bye in the playoffs by winning this game, but the Bears victory over Jacksonville moved Green Bay to the wild card spot.

The Packers have won home field advantage, and have never lost a post-season game at Lambeau Field.

DT Keith Hamilton left in the first quarter with a sprained left knee.
S Shaun Williams left in the third quarter with a sprained right knee.
WR Amani Toomer left in the third quarter after suffering a concussion.
