The Giants almost pull it out on the last play.
Michael Strahan had 3 1/2 sacks.
Strahan broke Lawrence Taylor's single season team record of 20 1/2 sacks.
Kerry Collins was 22-of-39 for 301 yards and 1 TD.
Ron Dayne had a 16-yard TD run.
Tiki Barber was the leading receiver with 10 catches for 87 yards.
Amani Toomer had 3 catches for 67 yards, and 1 TD.

This game went down to the wire.
"It was a real battle, and my Giants almost pulled it off on the last play. It's too bad Ron Dixon got caught from behind and was tackled on the 4 yard line. I thought we had them, but the Eagles came up with that quick score after we went ahead. I sure wish Jason Sehorn was able to play. His detractors can say what they will, but the secondary gave up way too many big plays to the Eagles. Jason was sorely missed in this game."

Ron Dayne detractors are also on notice.
"
Right, Dayne had a 16-yard touchdown run today, and he also had a big run for a touchdown last week against the Seahawks. I guess we'll all have to wait and see how it all turns out."

Big plays were the name of this game.
"They were. The Giants got 4 big sacks on McNabb, but he threw 3 touchdown passes. The Giants went for two points for the first time this year and made it. The Giants flea-flicker play was good for a touchdown. The Giants picked up 76 yards on that last play of the game. McNabb hit their tight end Chad Lewis for some big plays, and come to think of it, we did pretty good throwing to our tight end, Dan Campbell. Say, maybe there's a lesson here for both teams - throw to the tight ends!"

The Giants need to win next week just to finish at 8-8.
"It's too bad. There were a lot of blown chances throughout the year, but like they say, it's hard for a team to repeat coming off the Super Bowl the year before. I guess next week's game doesn't mean too much, but I'll still be a lot happier if we win it."

The Giants are out of it.
"The way they put it is 'McNabb threw 3 touchdown passes, David Akers kicked a 35-yard field goal with 7 seconds left, and the Philadelphia Eagles clinched their first NFC East title since 1988 with a 24-21 victory over the New York Giants'.
They almost had to take that back, because with 7 seconds left, the Giants nearly took it all away on the very next play. If there were just a few more seconds left, the Giants would have had a first down at the 4 yard line, and the Eagles could have been worried about winning against Tampa Bay next week instead of celebrating today."

Both teams played hard.
"They made a good game of it. The Giants looked lost in the first half, and overall were 3-13 on
3rd-down efficiency, but still the Eagles weren't much better with 5-13. Did you notice that 28 points of today's game came all in the fourth quarter? Actually, that was part of the problem. The Giants shouldn't expect to win letting the Eagles score twice in the last 2 minutes of the game."

It was a high scoring game.
"Considering the first meeting ended up with a 10-9 score, and the Giants were up against the team that has given up the least points in the NFL, it was high. All the Giants needed was a little better defense at the end of the game to put it away, or maybe just a little more luck on that last trick play of the game."
