Michael Strahan had 2 sacks.
He set an NFL record for most sacks in a five-game span with 12 1/2.
Kerry Collins was 32-52 for 346 yards, 1 INT, 3 TD.
Amani Toomer had 9 catches for 109 yards.
The Giants have lost three games in a row.

The Giants had trouble from the start.
"As soon as they took the field, they played like they never saw a football before. One incomplete pass, then a fumbled handoff between Collins and Toomer and they turn the ball over. I mean they couldn't get their act together. The defense takes the field and lets quarterback Tony Banks rush for 5 yards. They stop Davis, and then let Banks throw a 12 yard touchdown pass. We were down 7-0 before two minutes were gone from the game.

That was pretty bad.
It was all very disappointing. It didn't get any better on the next kickoff when Ron Dixon dropped the ball it in the endzone, and had to down it for the touchback. I was really hoping for the Giants to play a good game and get a win here today against a weaker team. Instead they go and lose it by more points than they did the last two games."

The Eagles lost today too.
"That helps, but is that how we're going to get into the playoffs this year, maybe with a 9-7 division record over the 8-8 Eagles if we're lucky? Do you realize that the Giants have 4 losses already after only 7 games. They would have to win all the rest just to match last year's 12-4 record. What's going on?"

Next week the Giants play Dallas
"No doubt that will be another tough game. Dallas won today over the Cards 17-3."

The Redskins were coming off a hard earned win.
"That's true they felt good about themselves, and they were healthier on defense having Bruce Smith back. It also helped them that Keith Hamilton and cornerback Will Allen weren't playing. Then when Armstead had to take a seat for the second half, it was all over. Tony Banks was doing whatever he needed to, and Stephen Davis was able to run past the Giants for over a hundred yards."

Kerry completed a lot of passes today.
"It's really something. Even with 32 completions for 346 yards, the Giants can't score higher than 21 points. Their highest score of the year was a grand total of 23 points, and that record stands intact. By the way, our running game disappeared. The Giants gained only 42 yards on the ground, and Kerry Collins had nine of those yards. His average of 2.5 yards a carry was actually higher than Tiki Barber's 2 yards per carry."

Washington did good signing Metcalf.
"Metcalf has some history. He started with Cleveland in 1989, and played there for six years. Then he had a great year in Atlanta with 104 receptions for 1189 yards and 8 touchdowns. He stayed there only one more year before moving on to San Diego, Arizona, Carolina, and now Washington, after sitting out all of last year.
Metcalf was signed Wednesday and so, against the Giants of course, the first time he gets a chance, he turns it into an 89-yard return for a touchdown. That's the way it goes."
