Nov 4, 1:00 pm (FOX) - Dallas at Giants
| Game 8
The Giants came from behind to win it.
Collins had 2 INTs returned for touchdowns in the first half.
Dallas quarterback Clint Stoerner was intercepted 4 times in the second half.
Thabiti Davis blocked and recovered a Dallas punt, and had 1 INT
Will Peterson, Jason Sehorn, and Brandon Short also came up with INTs
It was a beautiful day for a football game.
"Until you took your seat and actually started watching the Giants play. They couldn't do anything right in that first half. The offense started with a three and out, and then the Cowboys drove and got a field goal. Then Collins gets hit on one play and loses the ball on the next, so the Cowboys get it on our 15. Everyone around me starts to boo, and I'm starting to wonder why Kerry
trusts the protection so much when he's getting hit all the time. He doesn't check his surroundings at all, just looks downfield to pass and gets popped. The defense stops them for a one yard loss on the ground, and you figure maybe we'll hold them and be down only 6-0 when they go for the field goal, but then Stoerner, with all the time in the world, puts it in the endzone and we're down
10-0 in the first quarter."
The second quarter was no better.
"It was even worse. As soon as it starts, Kerry throws an interception that gets returned for a touchdown and now we're down 17-0. Collins is getting sacked, and he fumbles the ball, but our guys get it. Finally you think our luck is changing when the Cowboys miss on a field goal, Collins hits Amani Toomer for 48 yards,
and follows it up with a touchdown pass to Jurevicius. Before long though, Collins gets intercepted and it gets returned for 70 yards for a touchdown, and we're down 24-7. We lost some people in my section at that point. The Giants aren't too good at making big comebacks, and the last game of the World Series is on tonight."
They should have stayed.
"I'm sure glad I did! The real Giants took the field in the second half. The defense came up with four interceptions, and held the Cowboys scoreless. Meanwhile, the offense scored the 17 points they needed to tie it, and then 3 more to win it all in OT. It was a great finish and I'm glad I saw it. Gooo Giants!"
"It was great to see Frank Ferrara in that game. He made his presence known right away, plays all out, and I'd like to see more."
How do you analyze this one Mikefan?
"You don't. They played lousy and then they played good. I'd leave it at that."
We need more.
"OK, we'll assume that the first half of this game was a continuation of how badly the Giants played the week before against Washington. It's all out of their systems now as we've seen in the second half today. Rodney Williams had a good game today and looks to be back on track. The special teams unit even came up with
a blocked punt.
The Giants will try to continue their average of 4 interceptions a half when they play Arizona next week. They need to nail that game, because the one after that will be against the Vikings at Minnesota. You know those players and their fans are looking to put it to the Giants after what happened to them in that playoff game last year. The Giants better be hitting on all fours when they
head over there."
Punter Rodney Williams broke his right wrist in the third quarter.
"Williams was hurt pushing Cowboys returner Reggie Swinton out of bounds after a 28-yard return. He was still able to punt. If he couldn't continue, Joe Jurevicius would have punted for him."

Michael Strahan's 1.5 sacks gives him an NFL record 14 in a seven-game span.
Joe Jurevicius caught 2 touchdown passes for the first time in his career.
William Peterson, Dhani Jones and Brandon Short all had their first career interceptions in the second half.
Thabiti Davis' blocked punt was the first under Jim Fassel.
The Giants last blocked punt was on Oct. 27, 1996, by Tito Wooten against Detroit.
