Game Notes:
"Somebody please remind me why I put myself through this every season. Do the Giants always have to make things so hard? Anyway,
the Giants scored on their opening drive and that made you feel a little comfortable until the Eagles got the ball, and scored right away on just four plays. The Giants always try to throw
in a little extra NFL history in the things they do bad, and in this case they gave up the longest run by an Eagle this year, for 40 yards. OK, so you figured this was going to be one of those
games where the Giants offense has to come through and bail out the defense.
Well, not so fast, because on the very next series, a sack on Eli Manning cost the Giants a shot at a go ahead field goal or at least a very anxious moment for Jay Feeley. Then the Eagles
passed the injury curse onto the Giants. Before the first quarter was over, Luke Petitgout was hurt. Antonio Pierce was down on the ground holding his ankle. William Joseph was out getting
x-rays. Then Kareem McKenzie pulled a hamstring.
Even with all this going on, they decided to have Eli Manning lunge into the endzone when Brandon Jacobs couldn't do it, or couldn't get credit from the refs for doing it. Overall the Eagles
played us tough and I give them credit for that. The Giants were lucky to come away with a win today, and that was the final stroke for the Eagles. Thanks to the Giants, they can no longer
finish with a winning season."
Game Notes:
"Eli Manning led the offense to an opening drive touchdown, but his game play showed only
slight improvement over last week, and he threw three interceptions. If the Giants are thinking playoffs, Manning has only three more games to grow into the role. He's playing too sloppy and
may be a year or so off target to take the Giants all the way.
Tiki Barber, Jeremy Shockey and Amani Toomer were the main offensive weapons in this game. They accounted for 21 of Manning's 28 completions and 356 yards of offense, and Jay Feeley made three
short range field goals of 24, 21, and 27 yards to get himself back on track. Then he kicked one more longer one of 36 yards in overtime to win the game for the Giants. Tiki Barber is amazing
getting yardage after a catch, but somebody has to stop letting Tiki Barber handle the overtime coin toss call. It's one of the few things he's just not too good at."
