Game Notes:
"You felt torn between these two teams. As a Giants fan, you wanted to see them win of course, but because of all the
events that have happened, you didn't want to see the Saints lose. Somehow, with the Saints opening the game with a trick play it seemed like they were trying to take advantage of the situation,
and you lost some of that feeling. The Giants were right on top of that, recovering a fumble at the 10. Before you knew it, Brandon Jacobs was running the ball in for a 7-0 lead.
Both teams played hard, but the Giants played better and now we have a 2-0 record going into San Diego next week, and that will be a challenge for Eli Manning since they really have it in
for him there."
Game Notes:
"The Saints self destructed a number of times, but make no mistake, the Giants played a tough hard game and earned this
win. Most improved over last week was Eli Manning, and that was great to see. It was like night and day watching Eli Manning
on the field. As composed as Aaron Brooks looked with the Saints, Eli Manning was right there with him. Considering how long each has been playing, that's a lot to say for Manning.
The Giants defense gave up 350 passing yards, but Brooks was throwing a lot, trying to get his team back from a 14-0 deficit. He threw 45 passes and completed 27 of them, along with 3 interceptions.
The Giants defense held the Saints to just 72 yards on the ground and special teams played well. The Giants look like a well balanced strong team this year."
