Game Notes:
"The Giants scored on their first possession, just as they did last week, except with Plaxico Burress in there, this one ended in a touchdown instead of a fieldgoal. If the player was to learn a lesson let's hope the head coach did too. Last game Eli Manning had a career high, passing for 352 yards. This week he had a career high 4 touchdown passes. This is all very exciting to watch. The Manning driven offense has scored over 40 points in three out of their four games, and the big problem seems to be finding a way to fit Tiki Barber in the mix. What a problem to have that Tiki's running game is an extra that you don't always need.
Actually the Giants have to look over some of their play calling. There were a few times when they went for short yardage and failed when Tiki or Brandon Jacobs would have given them a better shot. The Cowboys are up next after the bye week, and Uncle Bill has his work cut out for him. After today's loss to the Raiders, he has the Eagles and then us."

Game Notes:
"The Giants are back at home after playing their fist real road trip, and you can see the difference in the defense. At home they can really stop the run. The Rams finished with just 42 yards on 15 running plays, but no matter where they are, they still can't stop the pass. The Rams put up 442 yards in the air, and 22 of their 27 first downs came from throwing the ball.
The Giants showed they have a lot of offense to deal with, and they did try to balance it a bit better this week. In San Diego, 43 of the Giants 66 plays were passes. Against the Saints it was 29 of 53, and against the Cards, 26 of 51. This week the Giants had 35 passing plays and 29 rushing plays.
The Giants were lucky that the Rams played a sloppy game. Their penalties, actually less than the Giants, came at the wrong times and their turnovers lost them opportunities to score more points. The next time the Giants play is on the road against Bill Parcells, and he runs a tighter ship."

Notes:

Rams Marc Bulger was 40-for-62, and his 442-yard game for the Rams represented the most passes attempted and completed by a Giants opponent in the team's history.

Rams Marshall Faulk gained 16 yards to pass Thurman Thomas, and into 11th place on the NFL's all-time rushing yardage list with 12,080 yards.

Giants Eli Manning directed the Giants to a touchdown on their opening drive for the third time in four games. The only game he didn't do that was in San Diego, Tom Coughlin decided to kick a field goal on fourth-and-1 from the Chargers' 5 after a strong opening drive that was minus Plaxico Burress by his decision to sit the prolific receiver out the first quarter. It was their only loss.

Giants Eli Manning has thrown 135 consecutive passes without an interception.
Eli Manning had a career-high 4 touchdown passes and became the first Giants quarterback to throw 4 touchdown passes in a regular-season game since Kerry Collins did it at Indianapolis on Dec. 22, 2002.
Kerry Collins also did it in an NFC Wild Card playoff game at San Francisco on Jan. 5, 2003.

Giants Tiki Barber, who had rushed for only 205 yards in 3 games (avg 4.1 per carry), picked up 128 yards (avg 5.3 per carry) today.
This was Tiki Barber's 23rd 100-yard game, extending his own team record.

Giants Plaxico Burress 204 yards tied for the 3rd-highest total in Giants history.

Giants Jeremy Shockey caught 4 passes for 57 yards, giving him 200 career receptions.
That makes Shockey, in his 43rd game, the second-fastest tight end in history to reach 200 catches. Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow did it in 39 games.

Giants Michael Strahan played in his 179th game as a Giant, tying him with Greg Larson for 5th on the franchise's all-time list.
Lawrence Taylor and Joe Morrison are tied for 3rd on the games-played list with 184.

Giants opponents are 0-4 on replay challenges.

Giants lead the NFL with 136 points scored after four games.
