Dec 31 Odell Beckham returns with vow: I won't flip out like that again. He will have the same fire, the same passion, the same intensity. But he won't get crazy anymore.

Jason Pierre-Paul says he blames himself in part for lost Giants season. Pierre-Paul missed the first eight games of the season.

A first career touchdown is usually something that is to be celebrated. Ryan Nassib and Myles White did not get that chance. While it was the first touchdown for each of them, something both likely grew up dreaming about, neither was able to appreciate the accomplishment.

As Giants coach Tom Coughlin's future twists in the wind, he says there has been no talk with co-owner John Mara about how it will unfold.Coughlin seems almost resigned to his fate at this point. But still he's trying to keep his team looking straight ahead at the Eagles.
Tom Coughlin is not expected to return for a 13th season in 2016. Usually, when a head coach departs, his entire coaching staff follows suit, breaking up as they find employment elsewhere. But, Ben McAdoo is a different case than most assistants.

Dec 30 Giants' six most damaging moments of 2015. Eli Manning and the Giants had every reason to be optimistic. Even until very recently.
No need to baby Eli with another Coughlin grace year. As things have grown bleaker and darker, there has descended a cloak of inevitability around what is almost certain to come.

This, it appears, is the end of the road for Coughlin after 12 seasons coaching the Giants. So many times in the past, Coughlin has cooled his hot seat, found a way to survive, and often thrive.
Count former Giants and Rutgers offensive lineman Shaun O'Hara among the pundits who isn't pulling the trigger so fast on potentially firing Giants head coach Tom Coughlin.

If Giants lose to Eagles, they will face Rams in London next season. Maybe Sunday's Giants-Eagles game isn't completely pointless after all.

Eagles fire Chip Kelly amid team's lost season.

Dec 29 After Sunday's 49-17 loss in Minnesota, more than a few Giants felt they had let down their coach. Quarterback Eli Manning said the same during a conference call on Monday.
Manning was intercepted three times against the Vikings. Coughlin is the only coach that Manning has played for with the Giants since he joined the team in 2004.
As he tries to get the Giants ready for their season finale with the Philadelphia Eagles, he has yet to mention his job status to the team. But he plans to do so, since there is no real way to avoid it.
The Giants ownership does not want to part ways with Coughlin. The man has represented the organization with class for 12 long years, winning two Super Bowls in the process.
Nothing is official - ownership discusses these major decisions after the season, not while there are games still to play - but it appears the 69-year-old Coughlin's time is up, and everyone knows it.

On The Game: Game 15
Gamegirl - "Like all the Giants fans I was wondering who would step up with Odell Beckham Jr. out for this game serving his suspension. By the end of the first half, it looked like no one would."
Mikefan.   - "Overall without Beckham, the passing game disappeared. Randle was targeted five times and caught two, one for that big play and the other for 8 yards. Hakeem Nicks caught one pass out of three for 4 yards. Dwayne Harris, nursing a strained left shoulder, was off his game from the start."

Giants (6-8) vs Vikings (9-5) - Preview
Last week the Vikings took the lead early on and never let go in their game with the Bears. Both teams were on losing streaks, but the Vikings ended theirs with a 38-17 win.
On Sunday the Giants came up with 28 unanswered points to tie their game with the undefeated Panthers. Then they allowed the Panthers to score a game winning field goal in the final two minutes to take a 38-35 loss.

Dec 27 The incompetence of the NFC East couldn't save the Giants one more time. The Washington Redskins' 38-24 victory on Saturday night in Philadelphia over the Eagles moved them over .500 and allowed them to clinch the division.
The end came in the worst place possible, in the city of Philadelphia, late on a night when Giants fans had done the most self-loathing thing they possibly could do, which is root for the Eagles to win a football game.

Dec 26 Eli Manning has been as good as he's ever been for most of this season, yet all he has to show for it is another wasted year of his prime. His supporting cast has failed him. And every week that cast seems to get a little thinner.
Giants need a win, no matter what Washington does. Coughlin knows the Giants are a far less potent team without Beckham, but he hopes his absence will have a galvanizing effect on the team.
The good news for the Giants is very soon, when they leave behind this mess, they will have all the money they need - more to spend than they ever have possessed heading into an offseason - to buy, buy, buy in order to fix, fix, fix their broken roster.

Dec 25 Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-game suspension means the Giants must find a way Sunday night - in potentially a season-deciding game - to replace 26 percent of their receptions, 36 percent of their receiving yards and 41 percent of their touchdown catches. No biggie, right?
When coach Tom Coughlin was asked who the Giants will look for to make big plays in the receiving game on Sunday, he began with Randle. "Rueben comes to mind," Coughlin said. Randle was averaging six targets per game this season with Beckham in the lineup.
Replacing a dynamic receiver such as Beckham for even one game is no easy task. But the Giants (6-8) were steadfast Thursday in saying that their receivers are capable of filling the void against Minnesota (9-5), which boasts the seventh-best pass defense in the NFL.

Dec 24 That tenacity that makes Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. great finally came back to bite him badly. Beckham had his one-game suspension upheld and will miss Sunday night's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, when his team could be fighting for their playoff lives.
Odell Beckham Jr. got off easy. He should have been suspended two games. The NFL held up its one-game suspension Wednesday, following Beckham's appeal. He will miss Sunday night's game against the Vikings. In a statement released on Twitter, Beckham admitted, "I dropped the ball on sportsmanship on Sunday.'' He sure did.

Tom Coughlin offered a forceful and passionate defense of Odell Beckham Jr., saying that while the star second-year receiver was wrong to engage in wild behavior on the field last Sunday against the Panthers, Beckham was threatened and provoked.
The Giants believe Beckham was provoked during pregame warm-ups by the Panthers, who may or may not have been trying to send a message with a baseball bat, dependent on perspective. Beckham and cornerback Josh Norman engaged in repeated physical altercations during the game. Norman was fined $26,044.
Something did indeed happen before Odell Beckham Jr. went berserk on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium. And the way Giants punter Brad Wing remembers it, it involved a bat-wielding Carolina Panthers practice squad player promising Beckham he'd be "the reason that you don't play, today and other days."

Dec 23 Odell Beckham Jr. is going to have to fight to lift the one-game suspension levied on him more forcefully than the way he sparred with Josh Norman, as this might be a battle the gifted Giants receiver cannot win.

Calling reports that his players used a baseball bat and homophobic slurs to threaten Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. prior to Sunday's game "someone's attempt at spin control," Panthers coach Ron Rivera nevertheless ended the team's use of the prop in their pregame routine.
What has seemingly been established as concrete fact, though, is the fact Panthers practice squad safety Marcus Bell and Beckham had an altercation prior to the game, and Bell had a black bat in his hand during the altercation.

The NFL VP of officiating wanted Odell Beckham thrown out of Giants-Panthers game. Dean Blandino lamented that "there were two or three opportunities early in the game" for McAulay and his crew "to throw a flag and set the tone," but they obviously missed them.

Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is the team's lone selection to the 2016 Pro Bowl, while kicker Josh Brown and return man Dwayne Harris will be first alternates for the game.

Dec 22 Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended one game by the NFL for his actions in Sunday's 38-35 loss to the Carolina Panthers at MetLife Stadium, the NFL announced Monday.
Odell Beckham felt threatened by Panthers' bats, suspended one game. Beckham is the first-ever offensive player to be suspended for a helmet-to-helmet hit.
For his sake, for the sake of Eli Manning and the Giants, let the NFL's one-game suspension serve as a wake-up call for Odell Beckham Jr. A wake-up call to grow up.
As quickly as Beckham ascended to the heights of NFL celebrity last year with his three-fingered catch against Dallas, someone who knows him said his plunge from grace was just as dramatic.
Tom Coughlin has been criticized. Why didn't he sit Beckham when it became clear that the young receiver had become unglued? That's easy. Coughlin was trying to win a game.

Eli Manning addressed the Giants and told them the biggest regret they will have this season is if Washington (7-7) loses its last two games, which is half of the equation that could get the Giants into the playoffs, and the Giants (6-8) can't win their final two games, which is the other half.
If the Redskins beat the Eagles Saturday night in Philadelphia, the Redskins would wrap up the division - who would ever have anticipated that turn of events? - and the Giants officially would know what everyone suspected for quite some time: They are not playoff-worthy.

Gamegirl - "If you were at the stadium today you got to see a wild game from start to finish. You have to love this Giants team because the word 'quit' doesn't exist, and even though they lost, they showed they can play with the best of them."
Mikefan.   - "Odell Beckham Jr. stole the show once again, but in a bad way. Beckham dropped an easy touchdown pass early on in the first quarter and failing that, he set a different tone for the game. While it was all somewhat entertaining to the crowd and the media it certainly didn't make things easier on his teammates who were looking to win this football game."

Giants (6-7) vs Panthers (13-0) - Preview
Last week the Panthers continued to roll over the rest of the teams in the NFL with a solid 38-0 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The undefeated team has clinched the NFC title and earned a first round bye.
On Monday night the Giants ended their three game losing streak. They took the lead in the fourth quarter and and managed to hang onto it for a 31-24 win over the Miami Dolphins.
Giants - Dolphins Wrap-Up

Dec 20 Cam Newton may be shoo-in for NFL MVP, but Giants would be lost without Eli Manning, Odell Beckham For most of the season they have been a two-man team, performing with a terrible defense behind them and no other reliable option in any part of their offense.

Dec 19 For the second time this season, the Giants will attempt to slay an unbeaten at MetLife Stadium. They can close last time. The Giants almost pulled off the improbable last month against the New England Patriots.
Even when the Giants aren't winning Super Bowls, they have formed a reputation during Tom Coughlin's watch for being at their best when they played the best. It began in 2007, when they nearly defeated the Patriots in the regular-season finale and was cemented weeks later when they ended the Patriots' unbeaten dreams with a stunning 17-14 upset in Super Bowl XLII.

Former Giants
Luke Petitgout will spend the holidays in jail. On Friday, a New York judge convicted him of two counts of harassment and sentenced him to 30 days in jail for allegedly sucker-punching a man who was on a date with his estranged wife, and then slugging her.

Dec 18 Hard to see Panthers' Josh Norman stopping Odell Beckham. It's not likely to happen. It's not based in reality. Norman is having a terrific season. But at this point, what makes anyone think that Beckham can be stopped?
All eyes will be on Beckham vs. Norman. Beckham has been the Giants' offense the second half of the season. And even when teams have experienced success against him (see: Malcolm Butler and the Patriots), he's still topped 100 yards and reached the end zone.
Without big production from Beckham, the Giants (6-7) have no shot against the Panthers, who figure to stuff the running game and make stopping Beckham a priority. That's the plan of every opponent every week, but somehow Beckham has made a huge imprint on just about every game.

Odell Beckham has had plenty of high praise heaped on him during his first two NFL seasons, but the compliment Panthers coach Ron Rivera gave him on Wednesday - comparing Beckham to Jerry Rice - left him at nearly a loss for words.
Beckham noted his game isn't exactly the same as Rice. He's used bits from Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson on how to attack the ball. He's watched DeSean Jackson on how to get open downfield. And he 's studied Victor Cruz on how to use quickness to separate.

Dec 17 The Giants are bringing back another familiar face. Four weeks after the team reunited with wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, they will be signing veteran defensive tackle Barry Cofield, who played for the Giants from 2006-2010.
In recent history others such as Brandon Jacobs, Chase Blackburn, Aaron Ross and Mario Manningham have also had second go-rounds with Big Blue. Cofield worked out for the Giants several weeks ago and they kept him on a short list.
An old Super Bowl hero has returned to East Rutherford. Barry Cofield, 31, played five seasons with the Giants from 2006-2010, helping anchor the defensive line of the Super Bowl XLII champion. Cofield spent the last five years in Washington. He was released this offseason.

Former Giants
Damontre Moore went to work as a Miami Dolphin for the first time Wednesday, and the former Giants defensive end said he has learned from his missteps and is ready to start fresh.

Dec 16 Breaking down how Giants can win the NFC East. The Giants are tied for first place in the NFC East with three games to go, which is theoretically a good place to be - unless the division actually ends in a tie.
Giants brush themselves off, still looking to contend. The odds are against them, and the team's many holes defensively were on display frequently against the undertalented Dolphins.

Warning to Cam Newton and the undefeated Carolina Panthers: The Giants have played the villain in this movie twice before and it wasn't a happy ending for the 1998 Broncos or 2007 Patriots.
Giant improvement needed when Big Blue faces 13-0 Panthers. The Giants were good enough to beat the Dolphins on Monday night. But will good be enough to push them through to the playoffs?

On Monday night in Miami, Rashad Jennings seized his opportunity and ran with it. In a 31-24 win over the Dolphins, the Giants abandoned their running back by committee for the first time all season and fed one man - Jennings - the ball.

Giants (5-7) vs Dolphins (5-7) - Preview
Last week against Baltimore the Dolphins scored first after securing an interception and following that up with a touchdown pass on the next play. Miami scored again twenty seconds later when another interception was returned for a touchdown. That was enough to beat the Ravens 15-13.
The Giants let yet another game get away in their matchup with the Jets. They were leading going into the fourth quarter, but the game went into overtime. The Jets scored first and the Giants had a chance to tie the score, but they missed on a field goal attempt and ended up with a 23-20 loss.
Giants - Jets Wrap-Up

Dec 14 The Giants desperately need to beat the Dolphins, but wins have been hard to come by recently. With Washington and the Eagles winning Sunday and undefeated Carolina coming to MetLife Stadium next Sunday, Monday's game in Miami is practically a must win.
A Giants victory would re-insert them into the logjam at the top with three weeks to play (and the Redskins and Eagles facing each other in Week 16). A fourth straight loss would drop the Giants a game back with time and patience both running out on the season.

The Giants want to finish things off against Dolphins. The Giants have had chances to come through in the final 75 seconds of regulation and failed en route to devastating losses to Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans, New England and, most recently, in overtime to the Jets.
This time it really is now or never for the Giants ... seriously. The Giants can pull out all the stops, but nothing is going to help this bunch forge a link to past glory or shed its losing ways until this bunch decides to grow up and play for 60 minutes

The Giants have a must-win road game against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night, and they are eager to rediscover the smash-mouth style that has served them so well under Coach Tom Coughlin. But the meager running attack helps to explain a 5-7 record that includes three consecutive losses and four defeats in five games.

Dec 13 In the midst of his admittedly disappointing season, Rueben Randle went on the radio on Tuesday and talked about his diminishing role in the Giants' passing attack. He said that playing second fiddle to Odell Beckham has been "definitely frustrating" - a feeling many have shared while watching him.

Can the Giants' defense find answers to its end-of-game troubles? The Giants have lost their edge five times in the final two minutes, leading to defeats. The Giants have had a 10-point cushion three times in the fourth quarter and lost, including the Jets game.

State of Giants is on GM Jerry Reese and his draft picks. After nearly three years of unfulfilled potential and a maddening inability to show the maturity required of a successful NFL player, Damontre Moore was sent on his way Friday, the latest failed draft pick in what has become a troubling pattern for the Giants.

Former Giants

Damontre Moore speaks out on headphones incident with Cullen Jenkins, more in radio interview.

Dec 12 The end of Damontre Moore's Giants career was precipitated by a pair of headphones. The team waived the defensive end on Friday after an altercation with a teammate. The altercation occurred after Moore and veteran defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins had a disagreement over a free pair of blue Beats By Dre headphones.
Odell Beckham Jr. was distributing the headphones as a gift, according to sources, and several veterans - including defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins - tried to grab multiple pairs. Moore was released because he got into a fight with Jenkins.
This season Moore had 17 tackles (12 solo), 3.0 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and five special teams tackles. In three seasons, he played in 42 games and contributed 47 tackles (34 solo), 8.5 sacks and 21 special teams tackles.

How Coughlin messed with Giants' minds to shake bad finishes. If the Giants did not have enough talent to be a winning team this season, how is it possible they were leading so late in five of those seven losses? How is it possible that it took a 54-yard Stephen Gostkowski field goal with one second remaining for the then-undefeated Patriots to escape MetLife Stadium with a 27-26 win?

Dec 11 Tom Coughlin made his most emphatic defense yet of his much-maligned running back committee, insisting it is not to blame for his team's struggling rushing attack.
Enough with this rotation system the Giants have used at running back, to no avail. They have one of the worst rushing attacks in the league, averaging a miserable 88.1 yards per game.
Four is great for many things. Members in a rock band. Leafs on a clover. States of matter. Seasons. Four is not so great when there is one football and it is shared among four running backs.
All of them have had multiple chances to carry the ball in each of the last six games. To critics, that prevents one or two backs from finding a rhythm, a concept rejected by Tom Coughlin.

It is a fact that Rueben Randle's playing time has fluctuated in recent weeks, as the Giants search for a reliable second option to Odell Beckham Jr. Randle called the decreased snaps "definitely frustrating." Tom Coughlin said Randle needs to make the most of what he gets. "I would take full advantage of the ones that I do have before I would talk about opportunities," Coughlin said.

Dec 10 The defense Giants coach Tom Coughlin didn't trust had shown nothing in the first 51 minutes on Sundasy against the Jets to indicate a collapse would follow.

Why the Giants need to be Buffalo Bills fans the next 3 weeks. The Bills will complete their tour around the NFC East over the next three weeks: At the Eagles on Sunday, at the Redskins on Dec. 20, home against the Cowboys on Dec. 27. What can Rex do for them? A whole heck of a lot.

Former Giants
Dan Campbell is just starting his career as a head coach in the NFL. But his first taste of the league came when he was a tight end for the Giants.

NFC East News
Does anybody even want to win the NFC East? Oh my, it's just so bad. The NFC East is as competitive as ever, but the best division in the Super Bowl era is now an embarrassment.

Dec 9 The Giants placed two players on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday. One was expected, one was a bit of a stunner. Tight end Larry Donnell (no surprise) and long snapper Zak DeOssie (a big one) will both miss the remainder of the season.
DeOssie's placement on injured reserve leaves Eli Manning as the only active Giant who has been with the team since the Super Bowl XLII season. Safety Craig Dahl also was on that team and came back to the Giants this season after playing with several other teams.

Tom Coughlin seems befuddled by the Rueben Randle Riddle. Asked on Monday why the No. 2 receiver has not had a more positive impact, Coughlin gave a verbal shrug. "That's a very good question, That's a question which, quite frankly, if I were to answer, I would be speaking to Rueben."
Rueben Randle admits he's frustrated in offense, blames late interception vs. Jets on 'miscommunication'
Randle has just 42 catches on 61 targets for 533 yards and four touchdowns to date. And Sunday's play was not the first case of him and Manning not being on the same page.

Former Giants
Danny Kanell says there's a "war on football." The ex-Giants quarterback and current ESPN analyst made his declaration after a New York Times op-ed by the doctor who first found a link between head trauma in football players and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

Dec 8 If each Giants game this season had ended with 75 seconds remaining in regulation on the scoreboard clock, the team's record would be 10-2. If a 75-second reprieve sounds like asking too much, how about letting the Giants skip the last 37 seconds of their 12 games? That would make the their record 9-3.

The Giant problem: Tom Coughlin doesn't trust his defense to make a key stop. After their fourth blown second-half double-digit lead this season it's apparent that coach Tom Coughlin doesn't believe in his defense. He's trying to eliminate that phase late in games. Somewhat predictably, it's not working.

The coach who once had the golden touch is now turning everything into mud. It is not only the losing, but the way the Giants have lost, that puts Coughlin on the hot seat, yet again, needing a big finish to save his job.

Lack of talent, not Tom Coughlin, the real problem for Giants. look what he has to work with. Besides the Eli Manning-to-Odell Beckham connection, what else does he have that screams "playoff team"? The defensive personnel is as bad as it's been in his tenure.

Eli Manning hurts his ankle on Sunday but says it is fine and expects he'll be good to go for the Giants' upcoming game against the Dolphins.
Manning, 34, has started 179 consecutive regular-season games (190 counting the playoffs) and has never missed a game in his 12-year NFL career.

Former Giants
Plaxico Burress has pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges in New Jersey. Burress declined to comment on the plea he entered Monday in state Superior Court.
Plaxico Burress could face five years probation when he is sentenced Feb. 5. He is also required to pay $56,000 in restitution and penalties, according to reports.

Giants (5-6) vs Jets (6-5) - Preview
Last week the Jets played a balanced game against Miami on both sides of the ball. They were up 35-7 in the fourth quarter and finished up with a 38-20 win over their division rival.
The Giants didn't start scoring points until the fourth quarter in their game against the Redskins last week. By then it was too late to come back and they took a 20-14 loss.

Dec 5 Special Report - The Giants will play the Jets Sunday in a meaningful game for both, yet a passing thought takes me back to the first time they met, on Aug. 17, 1969 in the Yale Bowl in New Haven, Conn. The Jets were defending Super Bowl (3) champions, which has remained their only such prize in the 47 ensuing years.
The Giants were terrible, having hit a slippery downhill slope after great seasons in the earlier 1960s, and that 1969 regular season wouldn't be much better. They would finish 6-8, but this was the afternoon of the second exhibition game of the summer and wow, did things change.

Without Rex Ryan, Jets-Giants rivalry has become stale and boring. It has taken three months of a dreary New York football season, but it was inevitable that the moment would arrive. Rex, we need you right now.
The giant fight to save their season and save their head coach at the same time is on. It begins in earnest for Giants players Sunday against the Jets. Tom Coughlin's fate has not been decided, but if he wins the wretched NFC East, he shall return in 2016. On the other hand, another late-season collapse would doom him.

Once every four years, the Giants and Jets come up in the NFL's schedule rotation, and the two tenants of MetLife Stadium will square off this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The Giants, who are the "host" team, have taken the last five meetings and are 8-4 overall against the Jets, whose last victory in the series came on Halloween in 1993.

Dec 4 Frustrated Giants co-owner puts Tom Coughlin, Jerry Reese on notice. Tisch's frustration was magnified by the fact that the Giants came out so flat after their bye week against a sub-.500 team and just two weeks after nearly toppling the then-undefeated Patriots.

There are few cornerbacks, if any, in the NFL that can affect a game as much as the Jets' Darrelle Revis. It's to the point that Revis has forced the Giants to have devise two game plans - one if he does play, one if he doesn't.
Without him, the Jets still have an outstanding pair of cornerbacks in Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine. Cromartie does his best work as a press corner, and will likely relish the opportunity to cover Beckham.

Prince Amukamara, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to press their case against Jets WRs. Prince Amukamara and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in one corner, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker in the other. Let's get it on!

The last time the Giants had a backfield with this kind of committee approach was in 2008 when the "Earth, Wind and Fire" dynamic of Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw handled most of the carries. In that season both Jacobs and Ward ran for more than 1,000 yards. This year, the group may have trouble reaching 1,000 yards combined through 12 games.

Dec 3 When it comes to games like this one, Tom Coughlin looks to one player to lift the Giants from their malaise: Eli Manning.
And though Manning would never admit it, how it turns out is almost completely up to him. As up and down as he sometimes seems to be, the 34-year-old Manning is still the greatest advantage the Giants have going forward.
Manning has impressive performance credentials in the clutch. Like any quarterback, he's not been perfect. But his frequent success has given his teammates and coaches confidence he can play well when the team absolutely needs him to.

Tom Coughlin delivers plea to his Giants in press conference: "We're in December now"
Tom Coughlin says it's time for the Giants to 'totally commit' as schedule hits December.
But lurking beneath the surface are more questions about whether this might be the time when the Giants change direction if Coughlin can't reach the playoffs for a fourth straight season.
The Giants head coach drew comparisons to any other hard-working employee. "People have to extend themselves this time of year."

Jason Pierre-Paul says he wants to finish his career with the Giants But he's only guaranteed another five games. After that, he will become a free agent, unless the Giants do what they couldn't do last offseason and ink him to a long-term deal.
For the first time since his return, Pierre-Paul was listed on the injury report with a sore right hand. That did not stop him from participating fully in Wednesday's practice. He insists he's fine. More than fine, actually.

Dec 2 The Giants placed guard Geoff Schwartz on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday, two days after he suffered a fracture in his lower leg in the Giants' 20-14 loss at the Washington Redskins.
The Giants went with a familiar face to replace offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz on the active roster. They signed offensive lineman Adam Gettis off the Oakland Raiders practice squad.

The Giants' offense has become The Odell Beckham Show, and they really don't even try to hide it anymore. He's their most dangerous weapon, and they want the ball in his hands as much as possible.

Tom Coughlin has won two Super Bowls, so he will never be subjected to derisive chants of "Goodbye Tom," but a loss to the Jets on Sunday could doom the Giants' playoff chances and get him fired/retired in another month.

Dec 1 Antonio Cromartie changes his 'Tone about Odell Beckham Jr. Now that he's in position to experience just how good Odell Beckham Jr. really is, Antonio Cromartie is applying the technique that every cornerback learns at an early age: He's backpedaling as fast as he can.
Cromartie called Beckham "a one-year wonder." At the time Cromartie said this, Beckham had played 16 games in his season-plus NFL career, since the Giants drafted him 12th overall last year. This Sunday, the Jets - perhaps without star corner Darrelle Revis - will try to cover Beckham.

The teams play each other every four years, and no matter how many players shuffle in and out, they tend to view the game the same way. They share a stadium and a city, but not a division or a conference. They are vying for playoff berths, but not with each other.

What does the loss in Washington mean for the Giants? They dropped to 5-6 overall. They also fell to 2-3 in the NFC East, which puts them on the wrong side of the tiebreaker against the Redskins.
The Giants started the season playing three strong quarters and not being able to finish the fourth. Against the Redskins, they slept for three and woke up in the fourth.

Gamegirl - "The Giants were lucky to escape the first quarter after playing so poorly and I hoped they'd get their act together. The Redskins scored first in the second quarter with a field goal and then they kept adding onto it."
Mikefan.   - "The Giants can lament that the bye week moved them ahead in the division, but actually setting foot on the field moved them back. On the positive side, they have five games left to try to pull themselves out of this NFC East 5-6, 5-6, 4-7, 3-8 divisional quicksand, where the leaders are just the teams with the best losing record."

Giants (5-5) vs Redskins (4-6) - Preview
Last Sunday the Redskins took on the unbeaten Panthers. Both teams had scored two touchdowns by the end of the first quarter, but then the Panthers scored 30 consecutive points and finished with a 44-16 win.
The Giants were on their bye week, coming off a close 27-26 loss to New England. They are still alone in first place since the other division teams failed to move up after losing games over that time.
Giants - Patriots Wrap-Up

Nov 29 There are eight Giants left from Super Bowl XLVI team, just five of them left who played in that championship game - when it rained confetti on them and they became Giants on top of the football world.

Healthier, wiser and back with the Giants. Craig Dahl, an undrafted rookie safety from North Dakota State, was a long shot to make the Giants in 2007. His roommate that season, linebacker and long snapper Zak DeOssie, was another first-year player trying to make the team.

Nov 28 It appears the Giants will be without two of their starting offensive linemen Sunday in Washington for a game that could go a long way toward ensuring a postseason appearance. Left guard Justin Pugh will miss his second game in a row with a concussion and likely will be joined on the inactive list by center Weston Richburg.

Larry Donnell's season appears to be in jeopardy. The Giants' starting tight end, who this week will miss a third straight game as he struggles with a neck injury that isn't going away, admitted as much on Friday.

Friend of the Giants becomes part of the family. Whether striding through the Giants' locker room, plucking laundry along his way or sprinting across the practice field, cradling a punt securely in his hands, Harrison Eisen is a study in concentration. Focused on his task, he is all business.

Nov 27 Not all first-place showdowns are created equal, but don't tell the Giants that. The 5-5 Giants head into FedEx Field on Sunday to face the 4-6 rival Redskins with a chance to create some separation at the top of football's ugliest division.
The Giants may have found the most productive way to improve their standing in the NFC East: Don't play! Since the first-place Giants last took the field almost two weeks ago, the rest of the division has gone a combined 1-4. That includes Thursday, when blowouts of the Eagles (4-7) and Cowboys (3-8) made the Giants' turkey taste moister and their pies taste sweeter.

NFC East News
Cowboys lose Tony Romo and the season, too. The 33-14 loss leaves the Cowboys with a 3-8 record and probably without Tony Romo the rest of the way.
Eagles carved up by Lions 45-14. The Eagles are 4-7. They've lost three straight games. They're getting worse by the week. And their next opponent is the defending Super Bowl champions.

Nov 26 Hakeem Nicks works with scout team, Giants still unsure what he can provide. Instant impact? Unlikely. The Giants are still in wait-and-see mode with their newly signed wide receiver.

If he'd jumped a little differently, held the ball more tightly, landed a little better, Landon Collins knows this story would be different. But it's not. For two weeks, the Giants safety has had no choice but to stew over the interception he couldn't make in the 27-26 loss to the New England Patriots.

So much for the return of Larry Donnell. For much of the last two weeks, the Giants' starting tight end talked of returning to action against Washington. But then Donnell missed yet another practice on Wednesday. And suddenly, his season could be up in the air.

The Giants know exactly which team poses the biggest threat to their chances of winning the NFC East and punching a ticket to the playoffs for the first time in four seasons. Just look in the mirror.
While the players scattered for some rest and relaxation, Tom Coughlin and his Giants coaching staff spent much of last week in self-study, analyzing the first 10 games.

Former Giants
Frank Gifford Had Brain Disease, His Family Announces
Great players like Frank Gifford never want to take themselves out of the game.

Nov 25 The Giants' path to nine wins and an NFC East crown. the playoffs are sitting in front of them like a moist, plump, Big Blue turkey. You bet it is time for Coughlin and the Giants to give their fans a team they can give thanks to after three consecutive seasons out of the postseason. The Big Blueprint: Win nine games.

What do the Giants need to do in order to stave off challenges from the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys? Let's use this week's "Five things I think I think" to look at five things the Giants have to do in order to win the NFC East.

Chase Blackburn's advice for a successful Hakeem Nicks return: Know your role. In the last few years, the Giants have given a handful of former players opportunities to come back and help the team after they bolted elsewhere only to find the contracts were often greener than the grass. Brandon Jacobs, Aaron Ross, Mario Manningham, they've all come back for a Giants encore only to find they had no more tunes to sing.

Former Giants
Quincy Monk, a former Giants linebacker, died on Tuesday, at age 36. He began his career with the Giants as a seventh-round draft pick in 2002, and played in 13 games with Big Blue.

Nov 24 Special Report - As long as the Giants get a weekend off, things will look better and better in their attempt to win the NFC East. They didn't play Sunday, but the Washington Redskins did and the Philadelphia Eagles did. And both not only lost but were shredded.
Only the Dallas Cowboys, the fourth member of this under-achieving division, managed to win, but they are now 3-7 and still must play Carolina, Green Bay and Buffalo. Fortunately for them, they also have Washington twice.

Examining Hakeem Nicks' potential role and what the Giants think he can contribute. Nicks is back in the NFL. What can he do with this new opportunity? Recent history says not much.
Nicks is not the player he was as a first-round pick in 2009 and as a key member of the Giants' 2011 Super Bowl champs. But the Giants like the prospects of Nicks, who battled foot and knee injuries when his production dropped in 2013.
Nicks has caught more passes for more yards from Eli Manning than any other player, but this is a new offense. Monday was his first practice in the system. While the rest of the team was on a bye, Nicks said he stayed at the team facility to get a jump on the new playbook.

NFL News
A Player Concussed, and a Policy Questioned. Only after the game did the Rams give Keenum a test to see if he had sustained a concussion, which he had.

Nov 23 Tom Coughlin, Jerry Reese's jobs depend on Giants making playoffs. Maybe that's harsh or unfair, especially considering Reese and Coughlin share two Super Bowl rings. It's even mind-boggling to think their fates could come down to a dropped pass or missed kick when the Giants play host to the Eagles in the season finale on Jan 3.

The Giants had to be pleased with what they saw Sunday as they enjoyed the final day of their bye week before reporting back to work on Monday. The Redskins coughed the ball up five times in their blowout loss, while the Eagles officially achieved dumpster fire status with their 45-17 loss at home to the Buccaneers.

NFC East News
Eagles - Only faint boos could be heard at the end of the Eagles' 45-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. There weren't many devotees left to voice displeasure.
Redskins - After a 44-16 loss to Carolina, the Redskins are 0-5 on the road this season and have won just one road game under Coach Jay Gruden.
Cowboys - Romo threw two touchdowns, was intercepted twice and mostly lifted this team by his presence, and that was enough to allow Dallas to dismiss the Miami Dolphins, 24-14, Sunday.

Nov 22 Five things Giants must do to end playoff drought. The potential of Giants running back Orleans Darkwa is just one of the elements to success the rest of the season if Big Blue wants to snap long playoff drought.
Giants seek consistency from tight end Will Tye. Tye has made some nice plays for the Giants. They want more. Overall, though, the Giants are pleased with Tye's development.

Evaluating Giants' vital rookies: Troubling stats justify concerns. Giants general manager Jerry Reese says it every season: The first- and second-round draft picks have to come in and play. They have to contribute. They have to make a difference, as rookies. How did his top picks do?
In some ways, the issues that created concern for the Giants at the start of the season with both of those players -- technique for Ereck Flowers at left tackle, communicating the defense at safety for Landon Collins -- still are the main roadblocks in their development.

Nov 21 Viewer's Guide: Impact games to watch during bye week. Keep an eye on these NFL games that could impact the Giants while the team is on their bye week.

At the conclusion of week 10 there are only 11 NFL teams with a record over 500, the fewest this far into the season since 1990. With a win from the Eagles and the Redskins, there could be a 3 way log jam a top the NFC East.

The Giants have big decisions to make not only on Victor Cruz, but also on three other players whose futures are complicated by injury issues: defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, cornerback Prince Amukamara and linebacker Jon Beason.

Nov 20 With middle linebacker Jon Beason out for the season, Giants linebackers coach Jim Herrmann said he feels the rest of his charges "have stepped up their game because of that, they all take leadership." One player who has definitely done that, Herrmann said, is second-year linebacker Devon Kennard.

Will Tye couldn't get off the bench at Florida State and wasn't even invited to the NFL Scouting Combine last winter. Last Sunday, the Stony Brook University product was catching key passes in a close game against the defending Super Bowl champions.

The Giants started the season using a three-man committee at running back. In recent weeks, with Orleans Darkwa forcing his way into the picture, the Giants used a four-man committee. Here are the basic numbers for Rashad Jennings, Shane Vereen, Andre Williams and Darkwa thus far.

Former Giants
Kevin Gilbride - Beating Belichick: Former OC Kevin Gilbride provides the answers. On sports' greatest stage, the Super Bowl, he ousted Belichick twice.

Nov 19 Tom Coughlin still miffed about Odell Beckham Jr. touchdown catch that wasn't vs. Patriots. With the Giants on their bye week, head coach Tom Coughlin called in to WFAN on Wednesday afternoon to break bread with Mike Francesa.
In real-time, it was hard to discern whether or not the play was a score, and the refs took a few seconds to deliberate. They initially ruled it a touchdown only to overturn that on instant replay.

On Sunday, in the Giants' 27-26 loss to the undefeated Patriots, they sacked Tom Brady three times, hit him five times, and collapsed his pocket more than they've done to any quarterback all year. The defense seemed fast, aggressive and surprisingly effective. And yes, they believe a lot of that has to do with the return of JPP.

Four months after mangling his own right hand in that well-chronicled Fourth of July fireworks accident, Jason Pierre-Paul is giving back to those who have endured similar experiences.

Damontre Moore didn't get called for roughing the passer in Sunday's game, which stands as a major victory for the New York Giants' beleaguered defensive end. That broke a streak of three straight games in which Moore played and was flagged for roughing the passer.

Nov 18 The Giants will replace one star from the 2011 Super Bowl run with another. On Tuesday, one day after officially losing Victor Cruz for the season, the Giants signed receiver Hakeem Nicks.
Nicks reunited with the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft on Tuesday, hoping to revive a once-promising career and give the Giants a boost as they prepare for a six-game stretch run with the goal of their first NFC East title and playoff berth since 2011 in sight
Nicks had workouts this season for various teams, including the Giants back in September, when they took a look at Nicks and Wes Welker and passed on both of them.
Nicks has caught more passes (306) for more yards (4,538) from Eli Manning than any other receiver. He also had 28 postseason receptions for 444 yards and four scores. The 28 catches place him third on the Giants' postseason list and he is second in both yards and touchdown catches.

Nov 17 Another Giants season ended for Victor Cruz on Monday, this one before it ever started, when the wide receiver announced he is having surgery on his left calf muscle.
The Giants hoped Cruz would be back for the stretch run, but when he did some route-running Saturday with trainers, he reinjured the muscle.
The Giants wished Cruz the best and are hopeful he can return to play in 2016. But if he does play on opening day next year, it will be almost 23 months between games, an NFL eternity.
Victor Cruz will have season-ending surgery and his Giants career could end. Victor Cruz timeline: A look at the Giant receiver's career.

For as many times as the Giants have fallen this season, they have plenty of time to get up. Six games remain, and the club is still in position to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

As searing as those two recent defeats and the close losses to Dallas and Atlanta in the season's first two weeks were, coach Tom Coughlin believes the immediate future could be fruitful.

Giants (5-4) vs Patriots (8-0) - Preview
Last Sunday the Patriots won 27-10 playing against the Redskins in New England. They led the whole game by a wide margin and only a touchdown in the last few seconds made the score look slightly better.
The Giants played their game in Tampa Bay and came away with a 32-18 win. That victory insured they'd lead the division for at least one more week.
Giants - Bucs Wrap-Up

Nov 15 Giants in a familiar spot, with undefeated Patriots coming to MetLife Stadium. Odell Beckham has seen all the pictures around the Giants' practice facility in his year-and-a-half with the team, mementos of some of the greatest moments in franchise history.

The task of stopping the Patriots' best pass-rusher goes to Ereck Flowers. Rookie left tackle Ereck Flowers figured to have his hands full with defensive end Chandler Jones, who leads the NFL with 9.5 sacks in eight games. The Giants, as a team, have just nine sacks in nine games.

Nov 14 It is a tired football cliche, but the Giants' best defense on Sunday could be a good offense. Stopping the Patriots' high-powered offensive attack will be a tall task. But if the Giants' offense can keep quarterback Tom Brady on the sideline, it can only help the cause.

Linebacker Jonathan Casillas played in eight games for the Pats and all three playoff games, ending in their Super Bowl victory. But he wasn't there long enough to figure things out, and signed with the Giants this past offseason. He wasn't privy to a New England playbook. Ever.

How the Giants attempt to get Odell Beckham Jr. the football Sunday afternoon despite the extra attention paid to him will be a fascinating plot in the latest Giants-Patriots showdown. When the Giants have been at their best, Rueben Randle and Dwayne Harris have stepped up.

Nov 13 Reminders of the past were inevitable this week leading up to Sunday's Giants-Patriots duel, but those brutal losses are not something Rob Gronkowski prefers to dwell on.
Would you look at that, an undefeated Patriots team facing the Giants. Where have we seen that before? This game won't end up like those two famous matchups from the 2007 season, though.

Nov 12 The Patriots will be wearing the bull's eye of an unbeaten opponent when they come to the Meadowlands Sunday, and the Giants know the standard they must meet if they are to take down the defending Super Bowl champions.
The Giants are about to face their most dangerous and explosive opponent, a near-unstoppable force overflowing with quickstrike ability. And so are the New England Patriots, who are about to face Odell Beckham Jr.

Super Bowl losses to Giants still haunt Patriots QB Tom Brady. The second Super Bowl loss to the Giants hurt, it hurt a lot, but the pain from the first one will never go away for Tom Brady.
Tom Brady has won four Super Bowls and is eyeing a fifth. But it's the two he almost won that he keeps getting asked about as the Patriots prepare to play the Giants on Sunday. The Giants are responsible for two of the lowest points in the future Hall of Fame quarterback's career. .

Nov 11 Eli Manning never wore a Patriots uniform, but he knows a thing or two about their defense - and how to beat them. Manning is 3-1 against the Patriots, with three fourth-quarter comebacks, two in the Super Bowl.
Since the start of the 2008 season, the Patriots have beaten every team in the league at least once - except the Giants.Of course, this does not have the feel of a battle of first-place teams, even if that is precisely what the NFL standings declare it to be.

The Patriots are 8-0 and putting together one of those beat-us-if-you-dare seasons, where winning the AFC East is a mere formality, gaining the No. 1 seed in the AFC only a matter of time and the only real drama is whether they can match their 2007 results and finish the regular season 16-0..
The historical implications may be lost on the current generation of Giants, but the future is very clear. Beating the Patriots not only would allow them to head into their bye in first place in the NFC East (they have a half-game lead over the Eagles, who will host Miami on Sunday) and vandalize another unblemished Patriots season but would send a message throughout the league that the Giants are for real.

Nov 10 Rueben Randle felt like doing jumping jacks his TD was so easy. He barely had to move in the end zone as he hauled in an 8-yard pass from Eli Manning. Randle was able to play 65 of 75 offensive snaps, despite again dealing with a tender hamstring.

It was a good start for Jason Pierre-Paul. Now the Giants want more. Pierre-Paul made two tackles and had two quarterback hits. He also was one of the few Giants defensive linemen who were able to apply pressure on Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston.

Tackle Johnathan Hankins, a productive and complete player, tore a pectoral muscle in the Giants' victory at Tampa Bay and must undergo surgery.
Johnathan Hankins' season is over. The defensive tackle will need to have season-ending surgery on his torn left pectoral, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said on Monday.

On The Game: Game 9
Gamegirl - "I can't believe things started with Eli Manning throwing an interception on the very first play of the game. Manning's pass to Odell Beckham Jr. bounced off his hands and was immediately grabbed up by a Tampa Bay defender. Luckily, Dwayne Harris shoved him out of bounds and that helped save a touchdown, but before the game was even two minutes old, the Giants were already down 3-0."
Mikefan.   -
"Jason Pierre-Paul looked good in his first game back. He was in for most of the plays and although he didn't have a sack, you could see he was generating some real good pressure up front."

Giants (4-4) vs Buccaneers (3-4) - Preview
Last Sunday in Atlanta the Bucs had a nice 20-3 lead going for them in the third quarter. They allowed the Falcons to come back and take the game into overtime, but still managed an upset 23-20 win.
The Giants duked it out with the Saints in a wild shoot out of a game in New Orleans. Somehow 49 points wasn't enough to win in this game as they ended up with a 52-49 loss.
Giants - Saints Wrap-Up

Nov 8 Grateful JPP escaped hell for this hazy shot with Giants. He comes back to play against the Buccaneers on Sunday, better late than never, because there were legitimate fears that never was a real possibility.
No one truly knows what is going to happen once the ball is snapped and the Giants defensive end takes aim at Buccaneers rookie quarterback Jameis Winston. Until then, Pierre-Paul and the Giants are relegated to playing a guessing game.

Jon Beason placed on injured reserve ending season and possibly Giants' career. When Jon Beason arrived three years ago, he seemed so much like the final stabilizing piece in the Giants defense, a vocal middle linebacker and a strong leader. But Beason's body never could stay stable.
The Giants placed the veteran linebacker on season-ending injured reserve in order to free up a roster spot to activate defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul prior to Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Beason, 30, will play five or fewer games for the second straight year. He only played four in 2014. Beason has only played more than five games once in the last four seasons.

Nov 7 Special Report - Five keys to beating Tampa Bay: Press a rookie quarterback, attack a weak pass defense and maybe welcome back an old friend. There were no real lessons learned last week in the aftermath of the 52-49 soul-crushing defeat in New Orleans. Everything was already clear: the Giants' offense can score with the best, but the defense can't stop anyone, and neither unit seems capable of putting the other team away when the opportunity is at hand.

The lashing from the Saints left the Giants with what is statistically the worst defense in the NFL, allowing 427.5 yards per game. They also have the worst pass defense (315.4 yards) in the league even though they lead the NFL with nine interceptions. Those numbers were bad before last week's performance. Now they are not only worse, they are the worst.

Jason Pierre-Paul decision coming Saturday, expectations among teammates is he'll play vs. Bucs. Nothing has been made official about the playing status of Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul. All signs point to Pierre-Paul playing, just over four months following a Fourth of July weekend fireworks accident. Pierre-Paul lost his right index finger, and parts of his thumb and middle finger. He practiced this week without incident.
Actually, the surprise will be if he isn't activated. Coach Tom Coughlin said he has been "pleased" with what he has seen from Pierre-Paul this week. But even if Pierre-Paul returns, the Giants will be playing without two important pieces. Middle linebacker Jon Beason will miss his second straight game with ankle and knee injuries and cornerback Prince Amukamara will miss his fourth straight with a partially torn pectoral muscle.

NFL News
Through eight weeks this season, over half of all passing yards have come from quarterbacks who are on the "wrong" side of 30. The same is true of passing touchdowns.

Nov 6 The question looming over the Giants all week has been about how will the defense bounce back from its performance against New Orleans. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie knows the answer. During training camp, Cullen Jenkins said one of the issues that has hindered the Giants the last few seasons was their inability to deliver the knockout punch. He said they lacked a killer instinct and couldn't close out wins.

It wasn't long ago that Victor Cruz was counting down the days to the start of the season in anticipation of his return. Now he's keeping an eye on the end of the season, which is looming with each passing day he spends sidelined.
Cruz demurred when asked if it's reasonable to think he would return after the Giants' bye, Nov. 29 at Washington. The Giants will have six games remaining after their bye. Cruz conceded he is well aware the clock is ticking..

Undrafted free agent Will Tye is on track for his first NFL start Sunday, mainly because the Giants are running out of tight ends.
Tye has 77 yards on eight receptions this season, and Coughlin likes the improvements that he has made in recent weeks.

Nov 5 On Wednesday, after just one week back with the Giants, Pierre-Paul hinted that he expects to suit up for Sunday's showdown against in Tampa Bay. And then, he dared the Bucs to test him and his damaged right hand.
If Jason Pierre-Paul makes his season debut this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a week earlier than expected, many will see it as a desperation move by the Giants to aid their woeful defense.
That Giants medical staff - and the franchise as a whole - is known for being cautious and methodical, but Coughlin turned that reputation on its head with his go-for-broke comments on Pierre-Paul.

A Jameis Winston stat that should worry the Giants, 9 other things fans need to know about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jameis Winston is a rookie, but he has been sensational over the past three games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who the Giants will take on this Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.

Will Tye began the season on the Giants' practice squad. This week he'll be much more than that. "We feel like he's got to be the guy," Tom Coughlin said of the rookie tight end from Stony Brook University. Of course, there aren't many other choices.

Giants punter on killer penalty: He grabbed my facemask first. "When he grabbed my facemask and turned my head, I couldn't really see what I was grabbing," Wing told The Post on Wednesday.

Nov 4 This is what it's come down to for the struggling Giants defense: This Sunday in Tampa Bay, Big Blue will face a work-in-progress rookie QB who has few offensive weapons - and there's no guarantee that they'll be able to stop him.

The Giants did something in the first half of this season that they were unable to do the last two years: survive. They are 4-4 and in first place in the NFC East at a time when most recently they have been facing must-win games and starting to figure out formulas to avoid mathematical elimination. But there are still eight games remaining.

No team in the division - not even the Cowboys with the return of Tony Romo, still two weeks away - can look forward to the possible stash of riches the Giants might soon unveil. Adding Jason Pierre-Paul and Prince Amukamara to a defense that just allowed 52 points to the Saints could be Cespedes-like in terms of impact. Adding Victor Cruz and Will Beatty to an offense that just scored 49 points on the Saints could fine-tune specific areas of need and provide that extra something to put the attack over the top.

Nov 3 Is it possible Jason Pierre-Paul will make his season debut on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
Pierre-Paul's physical readiness seems to have shocked the Giants and - along with allowing 52 points and 511 passing yards to a virtually untouched Drew Brees - spurred the earlier ETA for JPP.
He took the field for the first time Wednesday, and worked with the scout team on Thursday. This week, the Giants will place more demands on him to gauge his readiness for game action.

The only thing worse than giving up 52 points and 608 yards to the Saints on Sunday? Reliving it on Monday. That's what the Giants had to do as they broke down their breakdowns and rehashed their horrors during the traditional day-after video session.

On The Game: Game 8
Gamegirl - "It shouldn't have ended the way it did. It just shouldn't. I don't know that the Giants deserved to win after giving up 52 points, but it shouldn't have come down to a last minute 50 yard field goal made possible by a penalty on a punt return with 5 seconds left. How do you lose a game where Eli Manning throws six touchdowns and no interceptions"
Mikefan.   -
"This was a game that will be hard to forget for the fans of both teams and the players. It was more like a video game where the teenage brothers control the offense and the younger siblings are on defense unaware their controllers were set to the highest difficulty level. Yes, older brothers will do that, and that's how you end up with a 52-49 score when the time runs out"

Giants (4-3) vs Saints (3-4) - Preview
The Saints were on the road last Sunday in Indianapolis and came away with a 27-21 victory over the Colts. They had been up 27-0 and the Colts kept plugging away at their comeback, but it was too late.
The Giants played mistake free football at home last Sunday and that was just what they needed to beat the Cowboys 27-20. Two of their three touchdowns came from their defense and special teams.
Giants - Cowboys Wrap-Up

Nov 1 Giants offense ready to break out against Saints. Rueben Randle said the wait has been frustrating. He's hoping that it's over as well. With nearly half a season in the books, the Giants' supposedly high-powered offense has been mostly stuck in the molasses of mediocrity. They have scored only two offensive touchdowns in the last two games combined.
