Giants lose to the Ravens 27 - 17.

Eli Manning was 4-of-7 for 99 yards.
Jesse Palmer was 3-of-9 for 64 yards and 1 TD.
Chris Douglas rushed for 47 yards on 10 carries and scored a touchdown.
Jamaar Taylor had 4 catches for 135 yards and 1 TD.
Ron Dayne rushed for 35 yards on 9 carries.
Game Notes:
"There were plenty of open seats at the stadium tonight. It kind of looked like the Greek Olympics. I don't mind, because it makes getting in and out of Giants Stadium a bit easier, especially
if you have to work tomorrow. The Giants started off with Tiki Barber running the ball, then a pass to Barber, and then another Tiki Barber run. It looked like a Fassel blue plate special,
but then they opened things up with a long 49 yard downfield pass to Tim Carter for 49 yards. That woke up the Ravens defense, and they held the Giants to a 4th and 3 and a 23 yard field goal.
On the Ravens turn, the crowd got going when Strahan almost nailed quarterback Kyle Boller for a big loss, and on a 4th and 1 at about midfield, the Ravens were stopped. Kurt Warner held the
ball too long and was sacked. The Giants couldn't move the ball and kicked it back to the Ravens. Boller completed a big pass play under pressure from Strahan for 34 yards to Kevin Johnson,
and marched his team downfield for a touchdown, and 7-3 score.
The Ravens didn't have to look back after that. Warner who had completed his first five passes, threw an interception that looked identical to the one he threw last game. It was run back for
a touchdown by Chris McAlisterr to put the score at 14-3.
The only reason to stay at the game was to wait for the appearance of Eli Manning which spurred the crowd on until you saw
the ball slip from his hand for no apparent reason. Then you realized that the Giants have a long way to go, and after all, there is work tomorrow."
Game Notes:
"The Giants closed out their preseason against Baltimore with former head coach Jim Fassel looking on. You have to wonder
what he was thinking after tonight's one-sided game. Fassel's job now is to work with the Ravens quarterback Kyle Boller who went 6 of 7 for 84 yards and 1 touchdown. Kordell Stewart did great
too, going a solid 8 of 8 for 102 yards. This was followed by Josh Harris who was 11 for 15 for 88 yards against the Giants defense.
If Fassel has had any influence on these guys, he's found the right job and he should stay there.
On the other hand, if all the success was because of a poor Giants pass rush and lousy defense, it's going to be a real long season.
One last note - Isn't it something that the only Giants quarterback to complete a touchdown pass this preseason (with less playing time) is Jesse Palmer (with two)? Realistically,
Warner should be the number one, Palmer the number two and Manning the number three. As they say, the numbers don't lie, but in this case we're talking the money numbers."
