Giants win the final preseason game 27 - 3.

Jay Lorenzen was 5-for-13 for 54 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.

Jesse Palmer was 1-for-1 for 46 yards.
Brandon Jacobs rushed for 40 yards on 9 carries and scored a touchdown.
Derrick Ward rushed for 40 yards on 9 carries.
Jamaar Taylor had 2 catches for 72 yards and 1 TD
.
Jay Feely kicked 2 field goals.
Shaun Williams and T.J. Hollowell each had interceptions.

Game Notes:
"I already hate that we have to pay for the preseason games as part of our ticket package. Luckily, this was sort of a freebie for Giants fans being an away game, because the Patriots sat out mostly all of their starters. Well, let's go with that. Since it's not really taken seriously as a football game, how about turning the preseason into combination football games and fan festivals.
The players will be assigned to meet with fans and sign autographs at various times during the course of these exposition games.
That bit of fun and excitement would offset the cost to the regular fans for funding these extra two preseason games."

Game Notes:
"It's hard to feel good with the overall quarterback situation. Eli Manning is inexperienced and Tom Coughlin kept it that way, sitting him out the last two games. The backups (in any order) don't look like they'd be able to save the day during the regular season if Manning had an injury or was having a bad day.
The offensive line is supposed to be better, but here in the final preseason game, up against the Patriots second string, we have the quarterback getting sacked 4 times.
The offense gave up a total of 17 sacks this preseason (one more than last year), got less first downs, had less total yards both rushing and passing, and scored less total points. Thank you Jay Feely for going 9 for 9 on field goals, and thank you Giants defense."

Notes:
The only member of the starting offense for New England that played was fullback Patrick Pass.

Patriots last week played their starters for a half and beat Green Bay 27-3.

Eli Manning missed his second straight game with a sprained right elbow but is expected to be ready for the season opener Sept. 11 against Arizona.

Giants starting offense -- with backup Tim Hasselbeck under center -- failed to find the end zone, making it 12 drives in the past 4 quarters without a touchdown going into the regular season.

If not for 5 field goals by Jay Feely -- four of which were from 47 yards and beyond, the Giants wouldn't have gotten any points from their starting offense in the final two preseason games.

Rookie S James Butler recorded his third sack in two games.

Safety Shaun Williams' interception halted the Patriots' third drive after 62 yards.

Mark Jones, previously sidelined with a foot injury, did fine fielding 7 punts this game.
