Jan 27 The New York Giants are entering a new defensive era with Dennard Wilson as their defensive coordinator. Wilson, who has a proven track record of developing elite secondaries in the NFL, brings a philosophy built on calculated pressure, disguised coverages, and safety-backed zones. His approach is designed to correct the Giants' defensive inconsistencies over the past seasons and turn their back seven into a disruptive, playmaking unit.

Mike Kafka - The Detroit Lions are adding another experienced coach to their offensive staff. It's unclear what role Kafka will have this fall as the Lions are still sorting out their coaching staff.

Jan 26 The New York Giants are hiring Dennard Wilson as their defensive coordinator, sources told ESPN on Sunday. They are also expected to hire former Baltimore Ravens special teams coordinator Chris Horton for the same role on coach John Harbaugh's staff, a source confirmed. Wilson and Horton are the first coordinators hired by Harbaugh, who took the job last week after 18 seasons in Baltimore.

Jan 25 Rex Ryan could be returning to New York, as Giants' defensive coordinator. When John Harbaugh became head coach of the Ravens, he inherited defensive coordinator Rex Ryan. Eighteen years later, Harbaugh could be bringing Ryan in. After one year with Harbaugh, Ryan became the head coach of the Jets, where he worked from 2009 through 2014. He then coached the Bills in 2015 and 2016. He has spent the last 10 years at ESPN.

Jan 24 John Harbaugh began the process of letting go of any coaches he doesn't intend to carry with him on his first staff in New York. The only remaining position coach on the defensive side of the ball is Charlie Bullen, who served as outside linebackers coach before being named interim defensive coordinator for the team's final five games of the season.

Jan 23 John Harbaugh makes first bold move with Giants by hiring ex-college head coach. The Giants are still expected to bring over several ex-Harbaugh assistants from Baltimore, including Todd Monken as OC, but we don't know much else. However, we finally have some answers, as it was revealed that longtime college coach Dave Clawson could be joining the revamped coaching staff.

Long-time head athletic trainer Ronnie Barnes, a Giants staple for over four decades, will transition from day-to-day operations to an oversight role within the department. A new head athletic trainer is expected to be hired, almost certainly with ties to John Harbaugh's former Baltimore Ravens staff.

Jan 22 Chris Mara played a critical role in the NY Giants' hiring of John Harbaugh. Harbaugh was the coach his brother wanted, and Chris Mara helped make that wish come true. John Mara, as we all know, is battling cancer. It was Chris Mara who took the lead, along with Schoen, in pursuing Harbaugh. It was Chris, with help from Tom Coughlin, who drove to Harbaugh's home outside of Baltimore to meet with him to ensure he understood the depth of the team's interest.

Jan 21 The Giants officially introduced new head coach John Harbaugh on Tuesday. Harbaugh, who agreed to a five-year contract on Saturday to become the 22nd head coach in the storied franchise's history, took to the podium at the team's facility in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Harbaugh said the process of putting together his coaching staff will begin Wednesday with opening interviews. He said he plans on speaking to some coaches currently on the Giants and Ravens staffs, and will also cast a wide net across the league. .

Jan 20 Even in a division as difficult as the NFC East, John Harbaugh isn't shy of confidence. With a solid offensive line, strong defense, and good weapons for Jaxson Dart, this team can surprise people. Coaching was the only thing holding this team back, and that doesn't seem like it'll be an issue anymore.

Jan 19 The Giants, as part of their all-out blitz to land John Harbaugh, had several former men with ties to the franchise reach out to extol the virtues of the organization. Another thing that stood out to Harbaugh was the players, some of whom he met during his visit to the Giants. "I'm just fired up to coach these guys and get to work. It's a great group, and I'm looking forward to building this team up."
Part of that building will come thanks to the Giants agreeing to let Harbaugh drive the bus in building out the football operations, similar to what he had in Baltimore, even if some of those ways went against how the Giants have operated for years.

Jan 18 John Harbaugh will report directly to ownership, according to multiple reports. "Today is an exciting day. What a privilege it is to join the Maras and Tisch's and the whole organization. I am so fired up about the players on this team. Looking forward to the great things we can accomplish together!"

Jan 17 Power struggle preventing Giants from hiring John Harbaugh. There is no reason for Harbaugh to accept this job without decision-making power in personnel. Several sources told the Daily News during the Giants' courtship that they expected Harbaugh to either want Schoen gone or to reduce his power in the Giants' new structure.

Jan 16 Hiring head coach John Harbaugh is a big win for the Giants. Harbaugh had a series of interviews lined up. After speaking with Giants ownership in New Jersey on Wednesday, he was expected to meet with the Titans and Falcons to interview for their open head coaching positions over the course of the week. He never got there. Giants ownership clearly ratcheted up the team's offer to a level Harbaugh could not and would not deny.

John Harbaugh accepts Giants' offer to become new coach. The Giants' deal for John Harbaugh is expected to be for 5 years, with a total value that nears $100M. The two sides were still hammering out financial figures Wednesday night. Though that ostensibly leaves wiggle room for an agreement to fall through, a reported a deal was expected to be reached. If one is established, the Giants would become the first of nine NFL teams this offseason to fill a head-coaching vacancy.

Jan 15 The New York Giants took the first shot, and their best shot, at landing John Harbaugh. Now they'll have to wait to find out if it was enough. They met with the coveted former Baltimore Ravens coach at their facility in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Wednesday for his first in-person interview. There was even some hope in the Giants organization that they'd be able to close the deal before Harbaugh visited with anybody else. However, the 62-year-old left without a deal on Wednesday evening.

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti made a choice last week he likely once believed he might never need to consider when he fired longtime coach John Harbaugh. Bisciotti remains convicted in his decision -- one he'd contemplated for weeks -- but does have one regret: If he were to do it again, he wouldn't have informed Harbaugh over the phone.

Jan 14 The surprising game when the Giants' 2025 season unraveled. After a disappointing 0-3 start to the 2025 season, the New York Giants had a major decision to make: Stay the course with their veteran quarterback, Russell Wilson, who had not played well outside of their Week 2 overtime loss to Dallas, or make a change at quarterback to rookie Jaxson Dart, one that would inject excitement into the fanbase and locker room. They decided to go with Dart, and there was an immediate return on their decision to go all in with their rookie signal caller. The Giants defeated the LA Chargers in week four, 21-18.

Jan 13 Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is one of six finalists for the 2025 Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year Award. The winner will be selected by a fan vote at nfl.com/rookies. The voting period will run through Friday, Jan. 30, and the winner will be recognized during Super Bowl LX Week. Dart is looking to become the third Giant to win it. Tight end Jeremy Shockey won the inaugural award in 2002 after being selected as the 14th overall draft pick. Sixteen years later, fans voted for running back Saquon Barkley, the second overall pick who went on to be named AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Jan 12 The New York Giants, hot on the trail of John Harbaugh to fill their head coaching vacancy, are continuing to stockpile of lengthy list of other candidates should they need to go to Plan B. The Giants are reportedly one of three teams that have requested an interview with Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula. The others are the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans. Per NFL rules, Shula is available for virtual interviews this week after the Rams defeated the Carolina Panthers in the Wild-Card round of the NFC Playoffs. Jan 11 If John Harbaugh wants to take over as head coach of the New York Giants, it appears that he is facing some growing competition. The former Baltimore Ravens coach is hugely in-demand after leaving the team he led for 18 seasons this week. The Giants are among the leading contenders to appoint him but he isn't the only man under consideration for the role. Kevin Stefanski, the former Cleveland Browns head coach, is also in the running while a surprise name has also emerged in former Las Vegas Raiders head coach, Antonio Pierce.

Jan 10 Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart set social media buzzing with speculation about the team's next head coach after fans attempted to lip-read the rookie on the Ole Miss sideline during Thursday night's Fiesta Bowl. Although his comments were inaudible, social media users attempted to read Dart's lips, prompting speculation that he said "Harbaugh or Stefanski," a reference to former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Jan 9 Daniel Bellinger's career arc with the New York Giants has been difficult to understand at times. A fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Bellinger started immediately. He caught 30 passes in 35 targets, two for touchdowns, in a promising rookie season. Since then, though, Bellinger has always played second-fiddle to someone else on the Giants' tight end depth chart.

Jan 8 Giants' first-round pick becomes inevitable if they hire John Harbaugh. Regardless of how this plays out, what's squarely in their control right now is pick No. 5, and there's a good chance if the G-Men come to terms with John Harbaugh as their new head coach, that pick is already all but made. Big Blue hasn't had a Pro Bowl-worthy CB since James Bradberry. LSU's stud cornerback Mansoor Delane just so happens to be regarded as the best cover corner in the draft.

Jan 7 NY Giants coaching search: Kevin Stefanski, John Harbaugh. Giants begin interviews with Stefanski, but Harbaugh's availability looms over the process. Harbaugh suddenly hitting the market has turned the 2026 NFL coaching carousel upside down. Not including the Ravens, there are six teams with head coaching vacancies. The belief is that some teams would fire their current coach if they could hire Harbaugh. The Giants are said to be acting "urgently" in their pursuit of Harbaugh.

Jan 6 Giants GM Joe Schoen returning despite 4-13 season. Giants co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch said in a statement Monday that although the results of the 2025 season were "deeply disappointing," they are prioritizing "continuity and stability" in the front office, calling it "important to our progress." Schoen has one year left on his original contract..

Game 17 Preview - Giants (3-13) - Cowboys (7-8-1)
The Cowboys played their last game on Christmas day against the Washington Commanders. They were ahead at one point with a 21-3 lead. The Commanders fought back, but the Cowboys held them off, and the final score was 30-23.
Last Sunday the Giants were able to break their nine game losing streak playing against the Raiders. They led in the game from the start to the finish, and left Las Vegas with a 34-10 win.

Jan 3 The Giants wrap up the 2025 season with a divisional matchup against the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium and a chance to win back-to-back games. They put up a strong performance in Las Vegas, one that saw them take an early lead and control the game with a wire-to-wire win. Now they will try to make it two games in a row this weekend with their NFC East rival coming to town. Ten things to watch in Giants vs. Cowboys.

Jan 2 Three starters the Cowboys should sit against the Giants in the season finale. No matter how much Brian Schottenheimer and several of the Cowboys starters say they want to go out and win this game, it may be more beneficial as far as the future is concerned to sit several of their key starters.

Jan 1 Looking back at 6 keys to the NY Giants season, and how things went wrong. There is no universe in which the 3-13 New York Giants' 2025 season can be considered successful. Back in the summer, though, there was optimism that things might be looking up for the Giants. Finally.
