Game 5 Preview - Giants (1-3) - Saints (0-4)
TheThe Saints were big underdogs last Sunday in a matchup with the Buffalo Bills. They were trailing 14-10 at halftime, but couldn't add much more, ending up with a 31-19 loss to the Bills.
Not many figured the Giants would notch their first win of the season, playing against the unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers. The Giants scored first, kept at it, and gave their hometown fans maybe more than they expected, with a 21-18 win.

Oct 3 Through four weeks, the Giants are tied for last in the league in rushing yards allowed per attempt, with each team giving up 6.1. The 153.0 rushing yards per game allowed by the Giants is 29th. The Giants have given up 1.5 rushing touchdowns per game, 29th overall. All the way back to last season, defensive coordinator Shane Bowen often talked about how the run defense was good the vast majority of the time but on the handful of plays when it wasn't big plays resulted.

Oct 2 The New York Giants lost more than just a receiver when Malik Nabers went down with a torn ACL - they lost the heartbeat of their passing game. Without him, the Giants are staring at a gaping void and searching for answers. Beaux Collins, an undrafted rookie out of Notre Dame, may suddenly find himself thrust into the spotlight.

Oct 1 Through his first four games, Abdul Carter has only nine tackles and 0.5 sacks. However, his impact is evident in his 15.2% pressure rate and a whopping 19 quarterback pressures per NFL Pro. Carter's lack of sacks is made up for by the turnovers and sacks he's set up for his teammates.

Sept 30 A day that should be remembered for rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart leading the Giants to victory in his first career start ended up becoming forgettable. Dart won his first start without his top playing wide receiver for most of the game, as Malik Nabers left with a knee injury and is expected to be out the remainder of the season with a torn ACL.

Sept 29 Giants win over the Chargers 21-18
On the Game - Game 4
Gamegirl... "It was an exciting day for the fans at MetLife Stadium. it started with the Giants scoring first, and it wasn't just a field goal. It was a 7 point touchdown!..."
Mikefan... "Brian Daboll made the move, and Jaxson Dart got what every young drafted quarterback looks forward to, a chance to get out there and lead the team all the way down the field and score a touchdown. He did that on his first opening drive.."

Game 4 Preview - Giants (0-3) - Chargers (3-0)
The Chargers were trailing the Denver Broncos 20-13 late in the fourth quarter last Sunday. They came up with a touchdown, and kicked a field goal with five seconds left, to give them a 23-20 win over the Broncos.
The Giants had their first home opening game in a Sunday night match up with the Kansas City Chiefs. They were coming off a game where they put up 37 points, but scoring was tough against the Chiefs and they ended up with a 22-9 loss.

Sept 27 One factor in the coaching staff's decision to go with Jaxson Dart this early in the season is the rookie's performance during the preseason. Across those three games, the 22-year-old completed 32 of 47 passes for 372 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while adding six rushes for 52 yards (8.7 avg.) and an additional score. The offense topped the 30-point mark in three consecutive preseason games for the first time in franchise history.

Sept 26 The New York Giants entered this season hoping Andrew Thomas' return would mask their lack of upgrades along the interior offensive line. While Thomas' presence has certainly helped anchor the group, the issues inside remain glaring. Pass protection and run-blocking efficiency continue to hold this unit back, but one veteran has been a surprising bright spot in the early weeks: 35-year-old Greg Van Roten.

Sept 25 It was only three years ago that Russell Wilson was one of the highest-paid players in NFL history. He was on the fast track toward the Hall of Fame. And he wasn't showing many signs of decline either. Today, though, he is a 36-year-old backup, benched for the first time in his 14-year career, and after just three games with the New York Giants. It's hard not to imagine this benching is the beginning of the end of his career. Yet somehow, the 10-time Pro Bowler believes the best may still be yet to come.

Sept 24 Jaxson Dart will start at quarterback in the New York Giants' Week 4 game against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers. Following a dreadful offensive showing in a 22-9 loss on Sunday night to the Kansas City Chiefs, Russell Wilson is three and out in Gotham. Dart, taken 25th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft after New York traded back into the first round, had an impressive preseason that had many wondering just how long it would be before he took the field in the regular season. Turns out it's three weeks, with Wilson struggling in two of the three games.

Sept 23 Giants head coach Brian Daboll, during his Monday video call with reporters, declined to commit to Russell Wilson, the team's starter for the last three games, for when the Giants take the field Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers at MetLife Stadium. Daboll said that the Giants' brass was in the process of "evaluating everything." But is Dart truly ready? "Well, we put him in the game for the last two weeks, so we wouldn't put anybody in the game we don't feel confident with," Daboll said in response to the question.

Sept 22 Giants lose to the Chiefs 22-9

On the Game - Game 3
Gamegirl... "The Giants were looking for their first win of the season. It was a lot to hope for considering the visiting team was the Kansas City Chiefs...."
Mikefan... "The Giants were catching the Kansas City Chiefs at the right time. Their offense was struggling with their ground game, and Patrick Mahomes was having trouble finding someone to throw to..."

Game 3 Preview - Giants (0-2) - Kansas City (0-2)
Kansas City lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the last Super Bowl. Last week in what was billed as the Super Bowl LIX rematch, the game was tied 10-10 at halftime. The disappointed Kansas City fans watched their team lose a second home game in a row, as the Eagles won again, with a 20-17 score.
The Giants were on a road trip, and battled it out with the Dallas Cowboys in a game that went into overtime. The Giants held a 13-10 halftime lead, and that lead flipped back and fourth, but the Cowboys came out on top 40-37.

Sept 20 The Kansas City Chiefs will aim to get back on track this weekend with a prime-time clash against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. Remarkably, the Chiefs have never beaten the Giants on the road in the history of the two franchises. Kansas City has lost all seven of its trips to play the Giants in New York since 1978, making them the only team the Chiefs have never defeated on the road.

Sept 19 The Giants will take the field at MetLife Stadium for the first time in the 2025 season when they take on the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. Both teams are looking to pick up their first victory of the season, as the Giants lost a heartbreaker in Dallas last week while the Chiefs fell at home to the Eagles. Sunday's game represents the first time the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs will travel to East Rutherford for an interconference matchup against the Giants. There's some players to watch in home opener vs. the Chiefs.

Sept 18 There's no one more ready to dig in during Week 3, when the Kansas City Chiefs come to town, than recently activated New York Giants linebacker Swayze Bozeman. Micah McFadden's foot injury landed him on injured reserve after Week 1, and 2025 free-agent signing Chris Board followed him after Week 2's game against Dallas with a chest injury. That means it's Bozeman's turn to step up - and he gets to do it against the team that let him go.

Sept 17 Receiver Darius Slayton is one of the few New York Giants who can truly act like he's been there before. As the longest-tenured Giant, Slayton is one of the few left over from the last blue team that broke the half-century mark in single-game yardage, getting 506 in Sunday's 40-37 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Slayton himself got in on the fun with a 52-yard grab in the third quarter that led to a Graham Gano field goal.

Sept 16 Russell Wilson dropped back to pass 41 times against Dallas. He turned back the clock and had a vintage performance, going 30-of-41 passing for 450 yards with a 3-1 TD-INT ratio. Wilson looked skiddish in the pocket in Week 1 as he faced constant pressure from the Washington Commanders' defensive line. But in Week 2, he was cool, calm, and collected, as the Giants' offensive line kept Wilson mostly clean.

Sept 15 Giants lose to the Cowboys 40-37

On the Game - Game 2
Gamegirl... "That was some game. The Giants lost, but they put it all out there..."
Mikefan... "Brian Daboll is always trying to be clever. Whether it's going for it on fourth down when he shouldn't or in this game, throwing in his prize rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, when there was no need..."

Game 2 Preview - Giants (0-1) - Cowboys (0-1)
The Cowboys played their season opener in Philadelphia, up against the Super Bowl winning Eagles. They held a one point lead at halftime, and added a field goal in the third quarter. The Eagles held a 24-20 lead when the game was delayed for over an hour because of lightning in the area. No more points were scored after that and the Eagles got the win.
The Giants looked good in preseason play, but it didn't carry over to their opening game in Washington. Both teams could have played better, but the Commanders, who had fallen just one game short of playing in the Super Bowl, were too much for the Giants to handle. The Commanders had strengthened some of their weaknesses and it showed with the Giants taking a 21-6 loss.

Sept 13 It's only been one game, and New York Giants players are already questioning the coaching staff's decision-making. The Giants' offense failed to score a touchdown in this contest despite two trips to the red zone. Starting RB Tyrone Tracy shared his thoughts on the lacking offensive attack and called offensive coordinator Mike Kafka's red zone playcalling into question.

Sept 12 The Giants will look to pick up their first win of the season this weekend when they travel to Dallas for a divisional matchup against the Cowboys. Sunday's game will be the second leg of a back-to-back games against divisional opponents for both teams. The Giants fell to the Commanders on the road in Week 1, while the Cowboys dropped their season opener on the road against the Eagles. Five players to watch in the Week 2 NFC East matchup - WR Malik Nabers, RB Tyrone Tracy Jr., OLB Brian Burns, CB Paulson Adebo.

Sept 11 Abdul Carter has a background as a gamewrecker. So why didn't the Giants tap into that background as much as they probably should have in Week 1? Imagine having a premium weapon on your football team, but not taking full advantage of deploying it every chance possible. After landing outside linebacker Abdul Carter third overall in this year's draft, they seemingly limited the rookie's defensive snap counts on defense to 38.

Sept 10 For the third consecutive year, the New York Giants failed to score a touchdown in Week 1. Although there were some bright spots, like Malik Nabers and the edge rush group, this game showed that the Giants' problems from last year remain the same. The Giants ranked sixth-worst in rushing yards allowed last season, and in this game, it was no different, allowing 220 total rushing yards. The run blocking also struggled. The interior offensive line's lack of push gave their running backs minimal room to run.

Sept 9 The New York Giants aren't ready to park the Russ bus, with head coach Brian Daboll confirming Monday that veteran Russell Wilson will remain the starting quarterback in Week 2. In addition to sticking with Wilson, Daboll told reporters Monday he doesn't envision any changes on the offensive line this week. Left tackle Andrew Thomas was inactive in Week 1 as he recovers from a 2024 season-ending foot injury, with James Hudson getting the start on Wilson's blind side.

Sept 8 Giants lose to the Commanders 21-6

On the Game - Game 1
Gamegirl... "The Giants looked to make all the right moves in the offseason and the draft. Winning all their preseason games seemed to verify that a little bit, and I was really looking forward to this opening game..."
Mikefan... "At halftime, the Washington Commanders and the Giants were just about even in time of possession. A look at how each team spent that time. Washington had twice as many yards per pass, twice as many yards per run, and twice as many first downs..."

Game 1 Preview - Giants (0-0) - Washington (0-0)
The Commanders finished last season second in the NFC East with a 12-5 record. They split their two games with the 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles, and after two post season wins, met up with them again to see which team would move on to the Super Bowl. The Commanders lost that game, and the Eagles went on to beat the Kansas City Chiefs to become the Super Bowl Champions.
The Giants were celebrating playing in their 100th season, and finished up last in the NFC East with a 3-14 record. They lost all six of their division games, except for one of the two with the Philadelphia Eagles, by no more than one touchdown. They start off this year playing against the Commanders, Cowboys and Chiefs.

Sept 6 In Week 1, the Giants will face an elite rushing team in the Washington Commanders. Not only do the Giants need to game plan to slow down Jayden Daniels' rushing abilities, but they also need to game plan to slow down a young and explosive rookie running back. Jacory Croskey-Merritt, or Bill, as he likes to be called, was one of the league's brightest standouts from the preseason. The Giants' run defense ranked 27th in the league last season, allowing 136.2 rushing yards per game.

Sept 5 New York Giants coach Brian Daboll confirmed Thursday that assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will be the offensive playcaller this season. Kafka called the offensive plays most of his first two seasons under Daboll and with the Giants. But late in that second season, there was noticeable discontent, and Kafka had playcalling duties revoked at times, multiple sources have since told ESPN. Daboll then took over the offense last year, when the Giants finished 3-14 and were 31st in points per game.

Sept 4 Russell Wilson brings leadership and quarterback stability to the New York Giants The New York Giants love Russell Wilson's deep-throwing "moon ball" and his Super Bowl-winning experience. That's why they signed him. Since he arrived, Wilson has shown something off the field that has made teammates embrace him. Coach Brian Daboll called him "consistent as they come."

Sept 3 The New York Giants have listed rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart as their No. 2 quarterback behind Russell Wilson on their unofficial first depth chart of the regular season. Dart is listed ahead of veteran Jameis Winston, who was the No. 2 on the unofficial depth chart throughout the preseason, when Dart was third. But Dart has taken the large majority of second-team reps throughout the summer and worked with the second-team offense in the preseason.

Sept 2 From Russell Wilson's leadership style to Brian Daboll showing clips of Brian Burns' hustle plays in front of the entire team, starting starters in the preseason, holding two rounds of joint practices and laying out development plans for rookies, everything was done with intent. Everything was done by design. Everything was done to get the team ready to play, as Joe Schoen said, when September comes.

Sept 1 The New York Giants have put all of the pieces in place to ensure Jaxson Dart's is a success story. Big Blue is stopping at nothing to ensure that the 22-year-old has a safety net of weapons he trusts so he is prepared for his moment when the time comes.
And head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen clearly noticed who those players are. The Giants already signed one of Dart's favorite targets from the preseason, running back Dante "Turbo" Miller, to the practice squad on Wednesday afternoon. But it doesn't end there.

Former Giants
Tommy DeVito - New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen admitted the team would have "loved" to have Tommy DeVito back. The addition of DeVito to the quarterback room gives the Patriots another experienced option behind Drake Maye and Josh Dobbs. One has to wonder if DeVito could potentially push Dobbs for the top backup job in New England.

Aug 31 Rookie fourth-rounder Cam Skattebo is in New York to help the team's run game. However, Tyrone Tracy Jr. remains the incumbent after a better-than-expected rookie campaign. The Giants open against a Washington Commanders defense that ranked 31st in rushing yards allowed per game last season, surrendering 143.1 yards on the ground. While not quite the worst run defense in the league, Washington's inability to consistently stop the run creates an appealing matchup for New York's ground game.

Aug 30 The New York Giants are running out of time to get All-Pro offensive tackle Andrew Thomas back healthy, and back on the field for a colossal Week 1 clash against the division rival Washington Commanders. Even Thomas doesn't sound convinced that he'll be in the lineup when the regular season kicks off. Thomas is still working his way back from foot surgery, but even after being activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list might not have enough time to get to the point he's able to suit up for the season opener.

Aug 29 Heading into the final weekend before Week 1, Giants players elected five captains for the 2025 campaign. The team will be led by: OLB Brian Burns DL Dexter Lawrence ILB Bobby Okereke WR Darius Slayton QB Russell Wilson. Wilson is a captain for the 13th consecutive season, a streak that now extends to four different teams.

NFC East News
Cowboys - Micah Parsons trade grades: Packers get this generation's Reggie White; Cowboys' franchise set back for years.
Eagles - Philadelphia Eagles are big winners of the Micah Parsons trade. It went down Thursday evening, a week before the Eagles take on the Dallas Cowboys to open the 2025 NFL regular season.
Commanders - The Washington Commanders will not be facing Dallas star pass-rusher Micah Parsons twice per season anymore. The bad news: The Commanders will now face Parsons in the Week 2 edition of Thursday Night Football.

Aug 28 New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers doesn't think the back injury that caused him to miss the final two preseason games and 12 days earlier this month will be a problem going forward. The Giants' top playmaker returned to practice last Monday but was held out of the preseason finale Thursday night against the New England Patriots. None of the Giants' starters played in the contest. Nabers said they were simply playing it safe keeping him out of practices.

Former Giants
Tommy DeVito is leaving the bright lights of New York - but he isn't going very far. The 27-year-old quarterback, who was tagged with the nickname "Tommy Cutlets" during his time in New York, was claimed by the New England Patriots a day after the Giants waived the fan favorite. DeVito becomes the third quarterback in New England, behind starter Drake Maye and backup Josh Dobbs.

Aug 27 The New York Giants unveiled their initial 53-man roster for the 2025 season. With a deadline at 4 p.m. ET, NFL clubs had to reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players from the offseason limit of 90. As always, it is subject to change - and often does - before Week 1. The claiming period for players placed on waivers at the roster reduction will expire at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 27. The Giants are third in the claiming order. Teams can then establish a practice squad of 17 players, as long as one player qualifies and is designated as an international player.

New York Giants' initial 53-man roster is set. Where did they get it right and what still needs work? The Giants unveiled their initial 53-man roster on Tuesday, a roster that, as usual, included a few unexpected moves, a few disappointments, and a few eyebrow-raising additions. Daboll declined to get into specifics about the roster or what might be coming next once waiver claims are processed, deferring comment until Wednesday afternoon when he and Schoen have a joint press briefing scheduled.

Aug 26 Regardless of what happens with QB Tommy DeVito's roster spot, his Giants teammates and coaches will always be appreciative of what he brought to the team. Regardless of what happens with QB Tommy DeVito's roster spot, his Giants teammates and coaches will always be appreciative of what he brought to the team. From his surprising rookie campaign, one in which he wasn't supposed to even leave the practice squad but was called up to the main roster anyway to start six games after injuries wiped out the guys in front of him... DeVito has shown that this game is not too big for him and that he could very easily be a QB2 for a team.

NFL News
For the past few years, Patrick Mahomes has been viewed as the consensus No. 1 quarterback in the NFL. Following some statistical slippage, plus a pair of MVP wins by Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, Mahomes' status as the league's top quarterback has recently come into question. Does the FOX Sports NFL Staff believe that Mahomes has been usurped by one of his peers?

Aug 25 The preseason was a big party for the Giants, but keeping the good times rolling when the games count is not guaranteed. The Giants had a lot of fun throughout the preseason. They went 3-0. They scored at least 30 points in all three victories. They outscored the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and New England Patriots 107-47. There were moon balls and pick sixes to celebrate, and an impressive rookie quarterback to drool over. Yes, a good time was had by all in the Giants universe. Even the talking heads are suddenly excited about the Giants.

Aug 24 Entering the 2025 season, the New York Giants are desperate to rebound after their disastrous 2024 campaign, one that saw them finish a franchise-worst 3-14 and drop 10 straight games to close out the year. On paper, Big Blue looks improved. But despite the offseason overhaul, are the Giants still the favorites to finish in the NFC East basement for a second straight year?

Aug 23 The New York Giants wrapped up the preseason with a perfect 3-0 record, defeating the Bills, Jets and Patriots by a combined score of 107-47. But now they count. Building the roster is a year-round process, but it culminates with Tuesday's announcement of the initial 53-man roster. By and large, the players locked in by 4 p.m. ET will take the 2025 Giants as far as they can go. The Giants began their moves Friday morning with the release of eight players.

Aug 21 Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas was activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Tuesday, where he's been since the beginning of training camp. Thomas has been rehabbing from the Lisfranc foot fracture that ended his 2024 season after just six games. It was the second consecutive year the former All-Pro's season was ruined by a long-term injury. He is back and ready to work towards being in the Giants' starting lineup when they face the Washington Commanders in the regular season opener on September 7.

Aug 20 Andrew Thomas has passed his physical and returned to practice. The standout left tackle underwent surgery last season after suffering a foot injury against Cincinnati on Oct. 13. He has been rehabbing since then and was placed on the physically unable to perform list at the start of training camp. The Giants said all offseason that they would be smart with Thomas, taking it day by day through the spring and summer.

Aug 19 Giants general manager Joe Schoen inked Paulson Adebo, who played the past four years for the New Orleans Saints, to a three-year, $54 million deal, pushing Deonte Banks down the depth chart. Banks, the team's 2023 first-round pick, is attempting to stave off Cor'Dale Flott, a 2022 third-rounder who has primarily played in the slot. Banks had a disappointing sophomore year in 2024. The competition will not just be based on the ability to cover receivers, but to create turnovers as well.

Aug 18 New York Giants remain committed to Russell Wilson as their starting QB. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart put on a show Saturday, completing 14 of his 16 pass attempts for 137 yards and two total touchdowns (one passing, one rushing) in a 31-12 drubbing of the New York Jets. Despite Dart's second consecutive impressive performance and rapid development, head coach Brian Daboll stands firm: Veteran Russell Wilson is the team's starting quartrerback.

Aug 16 Giants OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux makes confession about pre-draft visit with the Jets. The Jets, who held the fourth overall pick in the draft, might might select Oregon outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux, leaving Cincinnati cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner to fall to the New York Giants, who picked fifth in the order. The Jets snatched Gardner when they went on the clock, leaving Thibodeaux for then newly hired Giants general manager Joe Schoen to make his first-ever pick with for Big Blue.

Aug 15 Jaxson Dart's New York Giants preseason debut captured the attention of the NFL. A driving force for that was the unexpected instincts he flashed play after play against the Buffalo Bills. When speaking to the media, head coach Brian Daboll preached why his natural decision-making has stood out early to the team.

Former Giants
Evan Engram listed as free 2025 free agency steal. Engram's tenure with the G-Men was rather uneventful. After being selected 23rd overall in 2017, he started strong, but then fizzled out without any hesitation. His rookie season was his best during his five seasons in East Rutherford, and it was not exactly eye-opening compared to the hype.

Aug 14 The Giants were back at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center Wednesday for Day 2 of joint practices with the Jets. Anyone that has attended a training camp practice this summer has likely noticed the play of Brian Burns. The veteran outside linebacker has played like a man on a mission all summer, giving 110 percent during each practice while also emerging as a leader on the defense.

Aug 13 Day 1 of joint practices between the New York Giants and the New York Jets went about as expected for the Giants defense. Upfront, the Giants had a strong day, consistently generating pressure on Justin Fields and the rest of the Jets' quarterback room. Despite the success of the Giants' pass-rush, the Jets' passing attack still found plenty of success throughout the day.

Aug 12 Giants joint practice preview | Cross-Town workouts to feature intriguing matchups & familiar faces. Giants QB Russell Wilson and QB Justin Fields played together in Pittsburgh last year, with Fields starting the first six games and leading the team to a 4-2 start. Wilson took over as the starter after returning from a calf injury in Week 7. While Fields and Wilson competed for the Steelers' starting job last summer, both have solidified themselves as the starters for their respective New York teams in 2025 and will face each other's defenses this week.

Aug 11 Did New York Giants backup RB Dante Miller's impressive performance against the Buffalo Bills help his chances of making the roster? On Sunday, head coach Brian Daboll hinted at the fact that Miller's dynamic impact as a receiver improved his chances of making the final 53-man roster.
Miller was the Giants most productive receiver, finishing with seven receptions for 80 yards. Throughout the game Miller turned a number of short passes and screens into huge chunk plays thanks to his dangerous acceleration.

Aug 9 New York Giants rookie outside linebacker Abdul Carter has only been with the team for a little over four months, and already there have been plays during the spring and summer when he's made members of the team's offensive line look silly with his pass-rushing prowess. But Carter, a man of few words, says that the Giants offensive line, which for the longest time has been viewed as one of the weak links of the team, isn't as bad as some people believe it to be.

Aug 8 Darius Slayton, who currently sits 18th in franchise annuals with 3,897 receiving yards, could end up passing guys like former receiver Sterling Shepard (16th, 4,095 yards), tight end Jeremy Shockey (15th, 4,228 yards), and receiver Victor Cruz (11th, 4,549) to get into the top 10 in franchise receiving yards.
That is, of course, if Slayton, who is entering his seventh NFL season, stays on pace with 650 receiving yards this season, which has been his average annual total since coming to the Giants in 2019 in the fifth round.

Aug 7 The New York Giants seem to have struck gold with their fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, running back Tyrone Tracy Jr, who paid immediate dividends for the team. What was surprising was how little he was used as a pass catcher. As a rookie, he was targeted 53 times, caught 38 passes for 284 yards and a touchdown. Pass catching is where we could see Tracy be unlocked and reach his full potential. There is no reason why a running back with more receiving experience should not be able to change the math for an offense that is looking to be more dynamic.

Aug 6 Montrell Washington has been quietly stacking plays all New York Giants camp. Every day, it's something... a tough sideline grab, a clean route in red zone drills, some moment that forces a second look. With Darius Slayton and Beaux Collins sidelined, Washington's gotten some first-team reps. He's absolutely earned it. And he's not just coasting off one circus catch either. He's been having a truly great camp, finding soft spots in coverage, winning his matchups, and showing he might be more than a special teams guy playing under the title of receiver.

Aug 5 The Giants returned to action Monday for the final open practice until hosting the second leg of joint practices with the Jets on Aug. 13. It is also game week for the Giants. They open the preseason on Saturday (1 p.m. ET, WNBC-TV and WFAN) at Buffalo, where Brian Daboll knows his way around. The head coach, speaking to the media before practice, did not rule out playing starters in the game.

Aug 4 The pre-snap penalties that have found their way into the Giants' practices of late are starting to diminish. it was refreshing to see that Daboll, whose Giants have been committing pre-snap penalties at an often alarming rate the last several days, has taken an approach to hold guys accountable, and that is to yank them out of the lineup whenever a pre-snap penalty is made.

Aug 3 The Giants' ninth training camp practice was their third consecutive and second straight in pads. Instead of working 1-on-1 pass rush drills early in practice, the offensive and defensive lines worked on their games, the various twists and stunts where the defenders crisscross and set picks for each other to open up pass rush lanes to the quarterback.
For the most part, the offensive line did a good job working together and passing off rushers to one another. The one defensive line combination that consistently gave the offense trouble was Brian Burns and Abdul Carter, who chose to straight rush once or twice, which gave the offensive line fits.

Aug 2 The Giants then agreed with Jameis Winston shortly before reaching an agreement with Russell Wilson to be their starter. Although Winston likely never expected to be the Giants' starter for the 2025 season, the quarterback room got crowded fast after they signed Wilson and drafted rookie Jaxson Dart. Following the selection of Dart, many speculated that they may trade Winston, which Chris Simms says would make a ton of sense for Big Blue.

Aug 1 After a day off on Wednesday, the Giants were back on the practice field on Thursday for a two-hour practice in shoulder pads and shorts under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures were only in the 80's, but it was hazy and humid making it more oppressive. Since the team was not fully padded, there were no offensive vs. defensive line 1-on-1's. After two heavy run days in pads on Monday and Tuesday, the focus was more on passing on early downs and third downs.

Jul 29 You know you're one step closer to real football in the summertime when the pads go on, and that's precisely what happened on Monday, as the New York Giants graduated from the acclimation period to the padded practice period. However, despite wearing pads, which, of course, means being able to tackle, head coach Brian Daboll instructed his players not to bring guys to the group since it was the first day in pads this summer.

Jul 27 Special Report - Aaron Klein
That's game, everyone. With the passing of my father, Dave Klein, E-GIANTS has come to the end after over 20 years. Everything ends, good and bad, and they keep telling me that it's a natural progression, which it is. In this case, however, another door will not open in this space.

Jul 26 NY Giants among top 11 teams under most pressure in 2025 No surprise, but the Giants have a lot to prove after a productive offseason. The concerns surrounding the quarterback situation are undeniable. The most significant change the organization made to the offense is the addition of the trio of Super Bowl champion Wilson, former Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, and talented rookie Jaxson Dart. New York is counting on the man under center to light up the scoreboard far more frequently this year.

Jul 25 The countdown to Week 1 continues as the Giants practiced in shells Friday for the first time this summer. After focusing on the red zone in each of the first two practices, the team moved the ball back on Day 3, with the line of scrimmage rarely moving past midfield. The temperature sat above 90 degrees for most of practice, but that did not stop both sides of the ball from coming up with some big plays.

Former Giants
Justin Pugh officially announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday and did so as a member of Big Blue. Pugh took the podium in East Rutherford following the team's third training camp practice and bid farewell to the game after 11 years.

Jul 24 New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo impressed during his first day of training camp. The rookie out of Arizona State showed off his pass-catching skills and turned heads during an impressive first day of camp, earning rave reviews on social media.

Jul 23 Andrew Thomas, Eric Gray placed on PUP list. The Giants said over the offseason that they would be "smart" with Thomas, who did not participate on the field in spring practices. The standout left tackle underwent surgery last season after suffering a foot injury against Cincinnati on Oct. 13. Joining him on the PUP list is Gray, who has a knee injury. The former fifth-round draft choice enters his third season after playing all 17 games for the Giants in 2024. He split his snaps almost evenly between offense and special teams, where he returned kickoffs.

Jul 22 The New York Giants might have a difficult decision to make at tight end. The Giants are confident in second-year TE Theo Johnson to continue blossoming this season as their starter.
Former third-round pick Daniel Bellinger seems in line to be the second-string tight end.
As a rookie in 2022, Bellinger was impressive, totaling 30 receptions for 268 yards and three total touchdowns (two receiving, one rushing) in only 12 games. However, since then, he has seen his playing time steadily decline.

Jul 20 Not every draft pick, free-agent signing, or trade works out. That's the lay of the land in the NFL. The New York Giants are no strangers to that reality. Think Evan Neal, Devin Singletary, and Darren Waller. All three of those moves have come back to bite Joe Schoen in the you-know-what. Schoen's next swing-and-miss might already be here-and it's not hard to spot.

Jul 19 The Giants' defense garnered plenty of buzz over the last few months. However, most of the excitement has revolved around the front four and the pass rush. But due to these pieces up front, it seems as if the team's secondary is getting completely overlooked heading into training camp. The unit has an opportunity to grow and develop together, a storyline that does not seem to be getting nearly enough attention.

Jul 16 Despite finishing the 2024 season tied for the worst overall record, the Giants enter the 2025 campaign with the hardest strength of schedule in the league. For context, the two other three-win teams from last season, the Browns and Titans, rank 13th and 29th in SOS, respectively. Tommy DeVito is the lone returning signal-caller from 2024 but is slated to be QB4, if that, by season's beginning.

Jul 14 The New York Giants invested $54 million over three years in Paulson Adebo to solidify a shaky cornerback room that regressed in 2024. The primary cause of regression was the inability of 2023 first-round pick Tae Banks to meet expectations. After showing promise in his rookie season, Banks was benched last season and was openly criticized by position coach Jerome Henderson for his lack of effort - a criticism that deserved public acknowledgment.

Jul 13 Special Report - Notes and thoughts about Dave Klein from the E-Giants friends and family. He was much more than a Sports Writer.

Jul 12 His arrival was the first move in a complete overhaul of the quarterback position for the New York Giants, but Jameis Winston now looks surplus to requirements after Russell Wilson was signed in free agency and the team used a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft to select Jaxson Dart.
Winston's presence has looked like a champagne problem for Big Blue, since he gives the Giants a viable trade asset. Yet, appearances can be deceptive, and one observer has warned the Giants about any plans to trade the former No. 1 overall pick who's become a journeyman backup.

Jul 11 Most people acknowledge the wealth of talent that New York has assembled on the D-line in the last few years, but ESPN's Mina Kimes is among a select group of analysts that is willing to vault the entire unit toward the top-third of the league. The prominent journalist and analyst, enamored with Big Blue's potentially elite pass-rushing attack, ranked the Giants as the 10th-best defense in the NFL going into next season.

Jul 9 The New York Giants have completely overhauled their quarterback room after the end of the Daniel Jones era exploded in such a spectacular fashion, though all of that moving and shaking could spell doom for a player Giants fans have come to love. Tommy DeVito has already overcome the odds, as he came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent without ideal size and an arm that is considered below average in the pros. However, DeVito's accuracy and ability to avoid back-breaking turnovers helped him look like a solid NFL backup.

Former Giants
Vincent Timothy Rooney, a longtime NFL scout with the Steelers, Lions and Giants, died Tuesday morning after a short battle with cancer. After a stint in the Lions front office, he was recruited by Giants general manager George Young to be his director of pro personnel and served in that role from 1985-99, helping the Giants to their first two Super Bowl victories in 1986 and 1990. Mr. Rooney worked closely with former Giants coach Bill Parcells and became close friends with him.

Jul 8 How to bet the New York Giants in 2025: Super Bowl odds, win total, props, best bets and what you need to know. New York Giants offseason review. Reasons to back the Giants. Reasons to fade the Giants. How to bet the Giants in 2025.

Jul 5 The New York Giants were blessed with excellent defensive tackles in recent memory. Damon "Snacks" Harrison, Leonard Williams, B.J. Hill, and Dalvin Tomlinson are former Giants who recently represented the organization well when donning blue. Dexter Lawrence remains a Giant and is one of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL. Lawrence is correctly heralded for his unique ability to generate pressure from the nose tackle position (directly over the center). Since 2022, Dexter Lawrence has had 103 pressures from the nose tackle position alone.

Former Giants
Jason Pierre-Paul was a Super Bowl champion, a two-time Pro Bowler and a first-team All-Pro. Speaking to ESPN, Pierre-Paul lamented his accident and its consequences, but also hopefully stated that he thought he could still have an impact in 2025 for the Giants.

Jul 3 Giants RB Cam Skattebo gives the Giants something they haven't had in a while: a legitimate looking power running back. Skattebo rushed for 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns during his senior season at Arizona State, earning praise for his downhill style, vision through contact, and ability to contribute as a pass-catcher.
Skattebo enters training camp in a crowded but unsettled backfield. Tyrone Tracy Jr. is the projected starter for Week 1, and currently, it's believed that Devin Singletary will be RB2. But if Skattebo, who missed most of the spring workouts with an undisclosed injury, is healthy and ready to go, he will try to make a case to leap ahead of Singletary.

Jul 2 Dolphins acquire Darren Waller from Giants after former NFL star makes surprise return from retirement. The Giants held Waller's rights after he announced his retirement after one season in New York in 2023. They received a 2026 sixth-round pick for Waller and a conditional 2027 seventh-round selection in the NFL Draft. Things didn't pan out in New York, where he caught 52 passes for 552 yards with just one touchdown in a lost 2023 campaign for Big Blue. Waller eventually announced he was retiring after a health scare in November 2023.

Jun 30 The New York Giants added a Super Bowl winner, a former No. 1 overall pick, and a talented rookie prospect to the QB room ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Unfortunately, these moves did little to convince one NFL analyst that this Giants' offense isn't going to be one of the worst units in the league in 2025.
PFSN Ranks Giants Offense 31st in NFL Entering 2025 Season When your offense is ranked ahead of just the Cleveland Browns, then you know there are some potentially working against you entering the upcoming season.

Jun 29 Though it's unlikely Jaxson Dart will take over the starting role anytime soon, Dart is already making a strong first impression with the Giants. In a recent news roundup for ESPN, Jordan Raanan cited that the rookie finished minicamp taking reps with the second team. Heading into training camp, Dart will be ahead of Jamis Winston on the depth chart.

Jun 28 The New York Giants sound intent on opening the regular season with Russell Wilson as the starting quarterback. Wilson took the lion's share of first-team reps during OTA and minicamp practices this spring, and all signs point to the 36-year-old being behind center when the Giants open up against the Washington Commanders.
Given the pressure on head coach Brian Daboll to deliver enough victories to show owner John Mara that the Giants are heading in the right direction, there are bound to be questions looming over what direction to take the quarterback position throughout the season.

Jun 27 Giants will have 11 practices free and open to the public at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, N.J. The first open practice will be held on Wednesday, July 23. Fans must reserve a ticket to enter. Giants Season Ticket Members will have exclusive early access to claim Training Camp tickets starting at 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 8. The general public will be able to reserve tickets starting at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 10.

Jun 26 Admitting defeat on Daniel Jones may have come too late for the regime that inherited Dave Gettleman's handpicked Eli Manning successor. After three seasons tied to the inconsistent quarterback, Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll may be battling uphill to keep their jobs before their preferred Jones replacement takes the reins.

Jun 25 It's not just that the 2024 New York Giants finished with a 3-14 record, and were a team that was singularly unimpressive in just about every category that didn't have something to do with Dexter Lawrence. No, these Giants have been pretty bad for a while now, with all different types of leadership up top. Since the 2017 season, Big Blue has had the NFL's worst record (40-91-1), and of course, the NFL's worst win percentage (.307).

Jun 24 The Giants, who already have a challenging schedule for this coming season, have their first two games on the road against NFC East divisional opponents, making them games that they can ill afford to lose. But getting off to a fast start hasn't exactly been in the Giants' DNA of late.

Jun 23 New York Giants' Brian Daboll gets brutal ranking among NFL head coaches. Though Daboll's tenure with the Giants hasn't been long, it's beginning to seem like his brief early success was more of an outlier than the foundation for something special. In the eyes of Pro Football Network's Brandon Austin, the Giants' head coach was ranked dead last among returning head coaches entering the 2025 season.

Jun 22 The NY Giants came into the 2025 offseason knowing major changes were needed after a vastly disappointing 3-14 season. The biggest move came at quarterback. They brought in veteran Russell Wilson on a one-year deal to lead the offense in the short term. Wilson might not be the MVP-level player he used to be, but he's coming off a 2024 season where he threw 16 touchdowns to just five interceptions. Compared to what the Giants had under center last year, that's a massive upgrade. But Daboll and Joe Schoen didn't stop there.

Jun 21 The New York Giants are at a crossroads. After another depressing season in which they finished 3-14 in 2024, many experts are finding it difficult to predict anything but more pain for the century-old NFL franchise. But those who are looking a bit deeper see the Giants as an ascending team. They have drafted well two years straight, and general manager Joe Schoen has been strategically filling key needs through free agency.

Jun 20 New York Giants safety Tyler Nubin returns to St. Charles to teach kids about football. Before missing the last four games last season with a high ankle sprain, Nubin, 24, started 13 games for the Giants after being selected in the second round with the 47th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. He said he is now "100%" healthy. Nubin made 98 tackles, 50 of them solo stops, and forced a fumble in his first NFL season.

Jun 18 Minicamp is underway at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Aside from extra meeting time and a slightly different routine, it is largely an extension of the 10 OTA practices the Giants held over the past three weeks. The Giants will return to the field Wednesday for their final practice of the offseason program and break until training camp in late July.

Jun 17 The early returns from the New York Giants on rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart have been positive this spring. Dart, the 25th pick in this year's draft, again worked primarily with the second-team offense behind Russell Wilson and ahead of Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito. He fired a touchdown pass deep down the right sideline on his final rep of minicamp practice Tuesday.

Jun 16 The Giants and Jets will meet for two joint practices this summer, one at each team's respective training facility, ahead of their annual preseason game at MetLife Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 16 (7 p.m. ET). This is the third time the Giants and Jets will practice with each other in Daboll's four seasons.

Jun 13 The New York Giants offense is going to look a lot different this season despite the return of head coach Brian Daboll and his offensive scheme. New quarterbacks offer the promise of new hope for big plays down the field. Russell Wilson is going to hold the starting quarterback position this season. Wilson's touchdown-to-check down mindset as a quarterback sets the table favorably for Jalin Hyatt to get selective shots vertically down the field.

Jun 12 The New York Giants need to find a way to get Abdul Carter onto the field. Carter is primarily an outside linebacker in their defensive scheme, a position where they already have Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux. Considering all three are capable of recording double-digit sacks, it's a crowded position.

Jun 11 Prior to Dexter Lawrence's season-ending injury last season, the Giants were among the league leaders in sacks. Lawrence was in the midst of a career-year before an elbow injury forced him to miss the final month of the season. The 6-foot-4, 340-pound lineman registered a career-high nine sacks across his first 12 games before the injury, while also adding 16 quarterback hits, eight tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one pass defensed.

Former Giants
Daniel Jones - For pretty much six years, Daniel Jones kept his innermost feelings inside, safely tucked away, hidden from all but his closest allies, friends and teammates. He loved being the quarterback of the New York Giants, but that job and that position did not love him back.

Jun 9 Evan Neal's position change is quietly reshaping the Giants' offensive line. There was a time when Neal was viewed as a long-term building block. He was widely considered one of the most talented and intriguing tackle prospects of his class. The problem wasn't necessarily a lack of talent- - it was fit, development, and durability. Neal is now embracing a full-time switch to guard, and he's already working with the first-team unit at OTAs. That's not nothing.

Jun 8 The New York Giants might have a franchise quarterback waiting in the wings, but for the time being, they have joined a handful of other NFL teams in investing in a one-year rental with Russell Wilson. Will the bold move pay off? Only time will tell, but it's easy to see that Wilson is not generating a lot of confidence outside of the Giants' facility. The reality for the Giants is that they picked up a quarterback who hasn't looked so sharp since his playing days with the Seattle Seahawks.

Jun 7 Former Giants first-round pick Evan Neal is making a position switch this summer from offensive tackle to guard. It's not a natural progression for a 6-foot-7, 340-pound player who is seen as a prototypical tackle. Neal, the seventh overall selection in the 2022 NFL draft out of powerhouse Alabama, was seen as a "cant-miss" prospect who somehow missed. Injuries and underperformance have caused the Giants to move off of Neal and try him somewhere else along the line. It would be a real boon for Big Blue if Neal could make the transition.

Jun 6 Quarterback Russell Wilson's move to the New York Giants was somewhat overshadowed by the arrival of charismatic rookie Jaxson Dart, whom the Giants selected with the 25th pick of the 2025 Draft. Asked Thursday whether "having a first-round pick in the room" changes anything for him, Wilson made clear it "doesn't change anything at all."

Jun 5 There's renewed hope surrounding the New York Giants' passing game as the 2025 NFL season approaches. How could there not be? With Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and rookie first-round pick Jaxson Dart now manning Big Blue's QB room, the odds that we'll get some fireworks from coach Brian Daboll's offense are higher than they've been since he arrived in 2022.

Jun 3 The Giants kicked off the second week of organized team activities (OTAs) on Monday at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. They will also practice Tuesday and Thursday, when all three coordinators, players, and assistant general manager Brandon Brown will meet with the media. They will have plenty to talk about based off the action at practices so far. Remaining practices: June 3, June 5, June 9-10, June 12-13, June 17-19 (minicamp).

Jun 2 Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. got a late start behind Devin Singletary but was among New York's strong rookie class, taking the veteran's job by midseason and racing away with the opportunity. He'll start in 2025, armed with fourth-round rookie Cam Skattebo as a stylistic complement.

Jun 1 Giants QB Jaxson Dart ranked in top 5 backup QBs in new analysis. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has yet to take the field in an NFL regular season game and may not do so until later this year, if at all this season. And yet, despite that possibility, Dart, the 25th overall pick in the 2025 draft and the man the Giants hope will become their franchise quarterback for the next decade or more, earned a rather impressive, if not surprising, ranking from SI.com in its list of all 32 backup quarterbacks for the coming season.

Former Giants
Odell Beckham Jr. 'never' wanted to leave the Giants: 'I wanted to be the one' to get a Super Bowl in New York Beckham Jr. was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019.

May 31 The New York Giants wrapped up their first week of organized team activities (OTAs) on Friday, holding their third of 10 such practices at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center before minicamp in mid-June. Remaining practices: June 2-3, June 5, June 9-10, June 12-13, June 17-19 (minicamp).

May 30 As you may have heard, the Giants added three quarterbacks this offseason. Now we get to see them in action. The Giants spent the day working in the red zone around the 10-yard line. Russell Wilson kicked off the scoring with a touchdown pass to third-year running back Eric Gray. Wilson showed off his touch on another touchdown later in practice to wide receiver Darius Slayton, now wearing No. 18, on the left side of the end zone.

May 29 The Giants were on the field for the second official OTA on Wednesday. The first OTA was Tuesday, but it only lasted just under 45 minutes and there were no competitive team or 7-on-7 periods, which made today the first time this offseason the offense took the field against the defense.

NFL News
Dave Klein, one of only two sportswriters to attend the first 54 Super Bowls, died Wednesday, Steve Politi of NJ Advance Media reports. Klein was 85. Klein began his career at The Star-Ledger in 1961, following in the footsteps of his father, Willie, who was the longtime sports editor at the time.

May 28 Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has had a slow start to his NFL career. Hyatt, a third round selection by the New York Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, showed promise as a rookie, catching 23 passes for 373 yards in his debut season. The former Vol, however, barely saw the field for the Giants in 2024, catching just eight passes for 62 yards on only 19 targets. Hyatt was talked up by the Giants' coaching staff ahead of the 2024 season, so why wasn't he utilized more?

May 27 The New York Giants take the field this week for Phase 3 of the offseason program, commonly known as OTAs. This is the spring fun stuff - actual on-field practices. There will be 10 practices over a three-week period, beginning on Tuesday. Media will have access to watch three of those practices and talk to players and coaches.

May 26 Phase three of the Giants' offseason workout program is right around the corner as Organized Team Activities (OTAs) kick off Tuesday. The active roster will be able to participate in team drills, pinning the offense and defense against each other for the first time this offseason. Contact is not allowed during OTAs, which makes it tough to decipher how the offensive and defensive linemen are performing.
But it does serve as a good opportunity for pass-catchers and defensive backs to show what they can do. The 10 OTAs over the next three weeks will be followed by minicamp. The team will then break for the summer before reporting back for the start of training camp towards the end of July. Players to watch.

May 25 The Giants are in the midst of their offseason program now that the draft - which was viewed optimistically by many - has concluded. After a second consecutive dismal season, New York is ready to put up or shut up in a talented and deep NFC East that featured two teams in last year's NFC Championship game. Did the Giants close the talent gap? Ranking NFC East offenses position-by-position.

May 24 Darius Slayton named among the league's most underrated wide receiver. When one thinks of the New York Giants offense, two names that immediately come to mind include whoever is the starting quarterback (in this case, Russell Wilson) and receiver Malik Nabers. Rightfully so, as both are among the most important members of the offense. But there is another just as important, if underrated, member of the offense who often doesn't get the credit he deserves: receiver Darius Slayton.

May 23 For several months signs have pointed toward Evan Neal transitioning from right tackle to guard for the New York Giants. A post from Paul Schwartz of the New York Post confirms that is indeed what will happen when the Giants begin OTAs next week. If he shows an aptitude for the position, perhaps he could supplant 35-year-old Greg Van Roten as the starter at that spot.

May 22 For a second straight year, the New York Giants will be featured on HBO's Hard Knocks. The acclaimed series will follow them and the rest of the NFC East for its in-season edition. Hard Knocks will provide an in-depth look at Russell Wilson's first steps as New York's new starting quarterback, the debut of highly-touted rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter, the second season of record-setting wide receiver Malik Nabers, and the development of the potential quarterback of the future, Jaxson Dart.

May 21 The New York Giants plan to begin the 2025 regular season with free agent veteran Russell Wilson under center, a clear upgrade from years past. Thus far, Wilson has shown that he can lead the Giants' offense both on and off the field in workouts, meetings, and interviews. After all, he is a 10-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champ who knows the ropes as well, or better, than any current player in the NFL.

May 20 Giants linebacker Micah McFadden may quietly become one of the team's most valuable defenders in 2025. As the Giants overhaul their defense with high-profile additions, McFadden's growth and untapped potential could be the glue that brings it all together. At 25 years old, McFadden's game thrives on chaos. He's an aggressive, instinctive weak-side linebacker who thrives shooting gaps and blowing up developing plays. Sometimes that leads to a higher missed tackle rate, but it's often because he's beating everyone else to the spot.

May 18 It's wild to think that a team that was tied for the No. 1 worst record in the NFL in 2024 could have the most difficult schedule, but that's how things sometimes land, and several reports confirm that, yes, the Giants have a doozie of a schedule. With that tough schedule, it's a good thing that they have veteran quarterback Russell Wilson in the fold for at least one year.

May 17 The schedule makers have the Giants playing four of their six division games in the first eight weeks of the season. For half of the team's first-half schedule to be division games is odd considering how the NFL has tried to play as many division games late in the season as possible. The fact the Giants play two of their road division games in the first two weeks of the season is even more unique. The last time the Giants opened their season with two divisional opponents was 2009, when they hosted Washington in Week 1 and visited Dallas in Week 2.

May 16 Predicting Giants 2025 schedule outcome. A game-by-game look to see where it's reasonable to believe the Giants could pull out a win. There's a long way to go before we can realistically assess the New York Giants' success with their very challenging 2025 schedule, and it's a very early prediction for each game.

May 15 The wait is over. The 2025 schedule is out. Fans can now plan their holidays accordingly. Three primetime games, including a pair at home against both of last year's conference champions, and two Super Bowl rematches highlight the Giants' slate, which begins with back-to-back road contests in the division against the Commanders and Cowboys. The Giants' home opener is set for "Sunday Night Football" in Week 3 against the Chiefs.

NFC East News
NFC East: Takeaways, full list of games for the Commanders, Cowboys, Eagles.
Giants - A beast of a schedule. The Giants have the hardest strength of schedule in the NFL based on last season's results. Eagles - Two particularly noteworthy stretches in Philadelphia's schedule. After opening against the Cowboys, the Eagles take on the reigning AFC champions at Kansas City, then host the Rams (who gave the Eagles the toughest playoff test last season). Cowboys - The opening game is a whopper for ratings, against the defending champions, who swept them last season by a total of 62 points. Washington - They don't get their first shot to avenge their NFC Championship Game loss to the Eagles until Week 16 and then have the Eagles again two weeks later in the regular-season finale.

May 14 Giants record prediction 2025: 5-12. There's little doubt the Giants have made significant strides in improving the roster heading into 2025. The defense could finish inside the top 10 with an impressive front seven comprised of Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Abdul Carter. The secondary also got a facelift with playmakers in Adebo and Holland. The biggest issue for the G-Men is the NFC East.

May 13 Winning games is the ultimate goal, but some other factors could influence whether Giants GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll return beyond. The obvious answer would be way more wins than the three the team mustered up last season-ideally a better-than-.500 record, which in a 17-game regular-season schedule would translate to nine wins at minimum. But there are some other metrics that the Giants can aim for that would show improvement in areas where they have struggled late.

May 12 From folk hero at Arizona State to rookie in the Big Apple, Cam Skattebo is ready to prove himself all over again. A fifth-place finisher in Heisman Trophy voting last season, Skattebo is fresh off a collegiate campaign in which he tallied 2,316 yards from scrimmage with 24 touchdowns. Those numbers, however prolific, mean nothing for what he might accomplish with the New York Giants.

May 11 The Giants completely reshaped their quarterback room in the offseason by signing veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. They followed those signings up by trading up to draft Jaxson Dart. So, if the Giants feel like they could afford moving off of one of their veterans in the room, they could be a great trade partner for the New Orleans Saints. Derek Carr announced that he is retiring. This puts the Saints in a challenging situation without a true veteran QB option on their roster.

May 10 Rookie Minicamp Report: What we learned on Day 2. The Giants wrapped up their 2025 Rookie Minicamp on Saturday with their second practice of the weekend. A beautiful but windy day allowed the team to practice outside on the final day. Coach Brian Daboll spoke to the media before the players took the field, and Day 3 picks Marcus Mbow, Thomas Fidone II and Korie Black spoke to reporters after the practice session.

May 9 Rookie Minicamp Report: What we learned on Day 1. Jaxson Dart's first NFL completion was to... ...Jermaine Terry II, a tight end from Oregon State who was one of 13 undrafted rookie free agents to sign with the team. Similar to previous seasons, draft picks were mostly limited to individual drills at rookie minicamp to ease them in and get them ready to jump into Phase 2 with the veterans. Dart, however, did participate in 7-on-7 drills.

May 9 Abdul Carter split the difference, choosing to wear No. 51 with the New York Giants after flirting with the possibilities of the retired numbers of legends Lawrence Taylor and Phil Simms. Carter asked Taylor to wear his famed No. 56 after being selected third overall in the NFL draft last month. He was rebuffed. He then contemplated Simms' No. 11, before that door was closed by the family of the retired quarterback.

May 8 Special Report - Scott Landstrom calls the Giants draft the most promising draft he has ever reviewed in 17 years. Starting off with - First Round, #3: Abdul Carter, DE-LB, Penn St., 6-3. OK, let's start that I have not heard as many comparisons to the legendary Lawrence Taylor about a pass-rushing outside linebacker since Taylor was drafted second-overall in 1981 (44 years ago).
Carter merely led the nation in "tackles for losses" with 24.5, and ESPN analyst Ryan Clark had a hilarious story about his son (who played for Notre Dame this season) meeting with the offensive line after they came off the field in a VICTORIOUS 27-24 National Playoff Semifinals win against Penn State, and having to console the offensive linemen, such was the abuse Carter inflicted on them during that game.

May 7 Edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux said he is "super excited" about the New York Giants' top draft pick, even if he plays the same position and could have a similar role. The Giants took Abdul Carter with the third pick in this year's draft, adding him to a talented outside linebackers room that includes Thibodeaux, the No. 5 pick in 2022, and Pro Bowler Brian Burns. That doesn't concern Thibodeaux, who had the fifth-year option in his rookie contract officially exercised last week.

May 6 How the Josh Allen process led the Giants to Jaxson Dart. The Giants looked high and low for the guy with some of the same qualities the Bills' quarterback once showed New York GM Joe Schoen and the requisite talent to win at the position.

May 3 Jaxson Dart 'can't wait' to learn in veteran-laden quarterback room. Eli Manning isn't the only quarterback who had - and will have - an influence on Jaxson Dart. The Utah native was 10 years old when Russell Wilson won Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium and, like many fans his age, owned a No. 3 Seahawks jersey. Unlike most kids, however, Dart grew up to be a first-round draft pick. Now they wear the same uniform.

May 2 Giants WR Malik Nabers sends a warning to team's QBs. Nabers is sending Dart, Wilson and the rest of the QB room a clear warning before the season. If they're not targeting him, the Giants are going to have an issue on their hands. Nabers was targeted the second most times (170) in the league in 2024. Only Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase received more targets with 175.

May 1 Giants' Abdul Carter experienced prank call like Shedeur Sanders, others on draft night: report Caller said they were with the Jaguars, who chose 2nd overall in the draft. The prank said that Carter was going to be taken with the second pick. Several others had to deal with fake calls, but none more public than Shedeur Sanders. The NFL announced on Wednesday it is fining the Atlanta Falcons $250,000 and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich $100,000 over the leak of Sanders' private phone number used for draft day calls.

Apr 30 Giants build a defense-first identity through draft. General manager Joe Schoen denied that this was a preplanned undertaking this offseason. Schoen conceded the depth element was something they focused on this offseason. The Giants now have more than two proven NFL defensive linemen who can be part of an interior rotation. They have three potential double-digit sacks guys off the edge.

Former Giants
Eli Manning pursuing minority ownership stake in New York Giants. Following in the footsteps of Tom Brady and Richard Seymour, two former players who recently became minority owners of the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants legend and quarterback Eli Manning is reportedly in the midst of putting together a bid to buy a minority stake in the team in played 16 years for.

Apr 29 For whatever reason, Joe Schoen and his staff now seem to be better drafters than they were when they first came in. In some sense that's not a surprise. Schoen was hired by the Giants on January 21, 2022. Brian Daboll was hired as head coach a week later. That gave them less than three months on the job to evaluate the existing roster, get to know their college and pro personnel departments mostly inherited from the previous regime, and deal with free agency.

Former Giants
Isaiah Simmons was the eighth overall pick in the 2020 draft by the Arizona Cardinals, where he played three seasons. In those three seasons, Simmons had four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and 7.5 sacks. He spent the past two seasons as a backup with the New York Giants. A reserve role wasn't the plan for Simmons when he entered the NFL as a premier prospect out of Clemson.

Apr 28 Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart reveals surprising take on new teammate. Dart has been wanting to team up with Jameis Winston well before his name was called on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Dart will join veterans Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Tommy DeVito in the quarterback room, giving him a clean path to a true redshirt season, should he need it.

Apr 27 Grading every New York Giants pick in the 2025 NFL draft. The New York Giants had a banner night on Thursday at the 2025 NFL Draft, perhaps their best night in decades. General manager Joe Schoen, whose tenure began with two rocky drafts, is following up on his strong 2024 performance with a 1-2 combination that has simply knocked Giant fans out. In fact, he may have hit two grand slams in the same inning.

Giants 2025 undrafted free agent tracker. This season's NFL Draft saw 257 names called by the New York Giants and their fellow fortune-seekers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay ... and that was only the beginning. The window of opportunity for rookie free agents began long before Mr. Irrelevant was revealed, as rookies have already started signing in the draft's immediate aftermath. Keep track of the Giants' new additions and be sure to bookmark for updates on those reported to be joining the Giants for the upcoming minicamp in two weeks.

Pros and cons of the New York Giants signing Ole Miss' Juice Wells after the 2025 NFL Draft. Wells is a 6-foot, 205-pound wide receiver. He played his first two seasons at James Madison, then two at South Carolina. He closed his career with one season at Ole Miss.

Apr 26 Update - With their last of two seventh-round selections in the 2025 NFL Draft, No. 246 overall, the New York Giants selected Oklahoma State cornerback Korie Black.

Apr 26 Update - Giants select Nebraska TE Thomas Fidone II with 219th pick in 2025 NFL Draft.

Apr 26 Update - With the 154th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Purdue OL Marcus Mbow (6-4, 303).

Apr 26 Update - Cam Skattebo drafted by New York Giants in 4th round of NFL Draft. After being passed over during the first two days of the 2025 NFL Draft, Skattebo was drafted on Saturday by the New York Giants in the fourth round (pick No. 105).

Apr 26 Why did the New York Giants draft Darius Alexander? Joe Schoen knew entering the offseason that he had to rebuild the depth of the team's defensive front seven, particularly the interior defensive line. Schoen drafted Abdul Carter No. 3 overall to add a dynamic pass rusher on the edge. In free agency, he added players liks Chauncey Golston, Roy Robertson-Harris and Jeremiah Ledbetter. The coup de grace to the interior defensive line rebuild came Friday night when the Giants added defensive tackle Darius Alexander with the first pick of Round 3, No. 65 overall.

Apr 25 Update - With the first pick in Round 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft, No. 65 overall, the New York Giants selected Darius Alexander, a defensive tackle from Toledo. The Giants did not have a selection in Round 2 after Thursday's trade up for Haxson Dart, in which they gave up pick No. 34.

Apr 25 Experts grade Giants' Round 1 picks - Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, and Mississippi. quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Apr 25 The Giants took one of their strengths and made it stronger on Thursday night. After months of deliberation and speculation, the team selected Penn State edge defender Abdul Carter with the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 15th Unanimous All-American in program history and 2024 Nagurski-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year will join a defensive front that already includes Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Apr 24 Update - The Giants selected Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart after trading back into first round with the Houston Texans for the No. 25 pick.

Apr 24 Update - Giants select Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Back at the NFL scouting combine in February, he declared himself "the best player in the country."

Apr 24 The New York Giants have expanded their coverage of the NFL Draft with exclusive content on both WFAN and NBC 4 New York/WNBC, in addition to Giants platforms. John Schmeelk will host a live reaction show on Giants.com, brought to you by Crestron, the presenting sponsor of the Giants Draft Room, immediately following the Giants' picks with Super Bowl champion Shaun O'Hara on Thursday and Friday, and with Paul Dottino on Saturday. The shows will stream live on Giants.com, the Giants mobile app, Giants TV and Giants YouTube.

Apr 23 The Cleveland Browns and New York Giants are fielding trade inquiries for their early picks in the NFL draft, sources told ESPN's Peter Schrager. Although the Tennessee Titans announced Tuesday that they are not entertaining offers for the first overall pick, sources told Schrager that the Browns, who have the second pick, and the Giants, who pick third, have received trade calls over the past 48 hours -- and that neither team is outwardly rejecting those overtures. All 32 teams in the NFL still have their original first-round pick this year, which has seen a historic lack of trades in the lead-up to the draft.

Apr 22 Russell Wilson got a head start on bonding with his new New York Giants teammates the last few weeks during some casual workouts in the sun and warmth of San Diego and Atlanta. And now, the real work has started - at the Giants' facility. Wilson and his teammates reported Monday for the start of offseason workouts, where coach Brian Daboll addressed the entire team and introduced new players. Wilson is one, of course. And so is fellow quarterback Jameis Winston, both of whom Daboll had speak to the offense at the team's first official gathering.

Apr 21 The scouting process for the New York Giants to find their next franchise quarterback ended Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky. That is where they held a final private workout with former Louisville QB Tyler Shough after traveling to Alabama and Colorado in previous days to do the same with Jalen Milroe and Shedeur Sanders, respectively.
The Giants also had a private workout with former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart earlier this spring. Those four quarterback prospects are the most likely candidates to be selected by the Giants in this year's NFL draft, which begins Thursday night.

Apr 20 With edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux's future with the New York Giants murky, Tampa Bay might be looking to add the young pass rusher to help their defense this upcoming season. With edge Brian Burns and defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence looking for new contracts, moving him now for premium draft capital could make sense. That's where Tampa Bay comes into the equation.

The San Francisco 49ers are eyeing a potential trade for New York Giants edge-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux as they prepare for the 2025 season. Thibodeaux could fill a significant gap, especially after a solid 2023 season where he accumulated 5.5 sacks and 17 quarterback hits. However, any trade would hinge on the Giants' willingness to part ways with him.

If the Browns take Travis Hunter at No. 2 overall and Abdul Carter is picked by the Giants at No. 3 overall, Thibodeaux could be unofficially demoted to the team's third pass rusher behind Carter and Brian Burns. Thibodeaux, who has 21 sacks in three seasons, has been good, but not great, in the pros. Perhaps Detroit could be the spot where he figures it all out.

Apr 19 The New York Giants front office brass will meet with Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough on Saturday during a private on-campus workout as they continue to scout the top quarterbacks in the draft. While the Giants have a temporary solution at quarterback with Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, they may still be planning to grab a developmental quarterback if one becomes available.

Eli Apple had, to say the least, a tumultuous and disappointing two-plus seasons with the New York Giants. In a recent interview, it seems like Apple, now 29 with a wife and daughter, has grown from his immature days with the Giants. Eli Apple shares thoughts on difficult tenure with New York Giants.

Apr 17 Joe Schoen addressed the media at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center on Wednesday, just eight days before the 2025 NFL Draft begins in Green Bay. The general manager was asked about the latest developments in the evaluation process as the Giants hold eight picks, including the third overall selection and five in the top 105 slots. Meanwhile, the returning players are set to report for the offseason workout program on Monday.

Apr 16 If Colorado two-way player Travis Hunter gets drafted by the New York Giants third overall next week, he will get his wish to play both cornerback and wide receiver at the NFL level. "We would not be afraid to play him on both sides of the ball," Giants general manager Joe Schoen said Wednesday during his annual pre-draft news conference.

Apr 15 Why the New York Giants are retracing steps to work out Shedeur Sanders privately. At precisely 7:20 on Monday evening, we got word from practically all the NFL's insiders that the New York Giants are planning a private workout with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders on Thursday as the final attempt to get around and put eyes on the NFL prospect. There are only three possible reasons this private workout is happening one week out from the first round of the April 24-26 draft.

Apr 13 While all the focus around the Giants' offseason has centered on the third overall pick and whether they'll draft a quarterback, New York already took some smart steps to improve the position. Bringing in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston wasn't the headline move many fans hoped for, but it might be exactly what the Giants needed - especially given how unreliable quarterback play has been in recent years.

Apr 12 The Giants are not expected to select a quarterback at No. 3, but there is a lot of speculation that the Giants could either trade back into the latter portion of Round 1 or select one on Day 2. In those scenarios, Dart has always been considered a possibility.

Former Giants
Drew Lock - Seahawks reunite with Drew Lock. They found their starter in Sam Darnold earlier this offseason, and now they've added a familiar face into the mix. According to reports from NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Seahawks have signed quarterback Drew Lock.

NFL News
Important NFL dates to know for 2025: Draft, free agency, offseason workout programs, deadlines, minicamps, preseason training camp.

Apr 6 2025 NFL draft: Joe Schoen, New York Giants in no-lose situation. After knocking it out of the park with his draft class last season, he's got a chance to better that performance this spring. The Giants will end up with one of four players: Miami quarterback Cam Ward, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, pr Colorado's Travis Hunter, the two-way star who is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.

Apr 5 Giants sending 'big crew' to scout Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hutner at Colorado pro day. Head coach Brian Daboll's attendance at Colorado's pro day is particularly interesting. Daboll did not attend Miami's pro day, which featured the draft's consensus top quarterback Cam Ward, who is projected to go first overall to the Titans. He also previously stated that he would not be in attendance for Colorado's pro day.

Apr 4 State of Giants' offensive line: What it looks like pre-draft. The unique thing about quarterbacks in free agency is they do extensive homework on your roster. Russell Wilson liked what he saw from his new teammates who will be protecting him.

New York Giants' 2025 offseason workout dates announced. The dates for the Giants' 10 OTAs are: May 27-29, June 2-3, June 5, June 9-10, and June 12-13. Their mandatory minicamp will take place from June 17-19.

Apr 2 New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday at the NFL owner's meetings that he is not ready to make a decision on whether or not he will call offensive plays again in the 2025 season. If the Giants don't, or aren't able, to choose a quarterback at No. 3 in the 2025 NFL Draft it is possible that Heisman Trophy-winning cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter could be a Giant. "I think he's a good player both ways," Daboll said.

Apr 1 Special Report - Instead of risking their reputation (again), why don't the Giants draft a defensive player with the third pick in the first round of the April 24 draft? What? No quarterback? Unless they have every intention of winning the Super Bowl at the conclusion of this season, the recent signing of veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston should provide enough savvy to get them to at least a mediocre level in the 2025 standings.
Then the following year, when the two geriatrics have retired, there will be plenty of time to draft a wizard - or to find another veteran. Well, before making such an outrageous statement, you'd better have someone in mind, right? Yeah, we do. Why not take Penn State's edge rusher, Abdul Carter, who is 6-3 and 250 and has caused scouts to compare him to (is this heresy?) Lawrence Taylor.

Mar 31 Giants must address this crucial weakness in the 2025 NFL Draft. One weakness that stands out following free agency is the interior of the Giants' defensive line. They added depth, signing veteran defensive linemen such as Jeremiah Ledbetter and Roy Robertson-Harris, however, they need another impact starter to pair with Dexter Lawrence.

Mar 30 The New York Giants signed quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year, $10.5 million free agent deal that could nearly double in value if he hits on all of his incentives: regular season win incentive, playing time incentives, performance incentives, playoff incentives. The Giants put together a deal that is favorable and fair for both parties.

Mar 28 Russell Wilson expects to be NY Giants' starting QB this year. "I expect to be the starter and to be able to come here and rock and roll every day," Wilson said during a Zoom call Wednesday. "I think this team's really looking for somebody to lead them in every way - in terms of the process, in the offseason, during the season, our habits and our thought process and how we create a great winning culture.

Mar 27 Despite recent evidence, New York Giants may be perfect for Russell Wilson. Wilson should provide a measure of stability if he can continue to replicate his career-long statistical norms, which he did in Pittsburgh last year and, frankly, even in Denver in 2023. Maybe Wilson winds up being the optimal bridge to Shedeur Sanders. Maybe Wilson winds up being the optimal bridge to Arch Manning. Whatever the case, it's actually hard to imagine things going worse for Big Blue than they already have in recent years.

Mar 25 The New York Giants reached agreement with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson on a one-year deal worth up to $21 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday. The 10-time Pro Bowl selection had been in discussions with the Giants, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, but is opting for New York, where he won Super Bowl XLVIII in MetLife Stadium as a member of the Seattle Seahawks.

Mar 24 New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen has been working hard to revamp a Giants roster that went 3-14 last year. A whopping 12 players have been signed from other teams, seven of whom are on the defensive side of the ball. The biggest signings have been cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevon Holland. The quarterback room looks a tad better after adding Jameis Winston, but more work still needs to be done there.

Mar 22 New York Giants sign quarterback Jameis Winston to $8million deal. The 31-year-old Winston joins Tommy DeVito as the only quarterbacks on the Giants' roster. New York has been in the market in free agency for a veteran, with Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson also mentioned as possible targets. They now have a veteran to pair with DeVito - and also hold the No. 3 pick in the NFL draft next month. So, a top quarterback such as Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders could still be in play.

Mar 21 The New York Giants added some wide receiver depth on Friday, with Adam Schefter reporting that the Giants have signed six-year veteran Lil' Jordan Humphrey. Per Schefter, the soon-to-be-27-year-old Humphrey is signing a one-year contract with New York. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Humphrey had the best season of his career in 2024, catching 31 passes and playing a career-best 546 snaps on offense for the Denver Broncos. Humphrey had a six-reception game and three four-reception games for the Broncos last season.

Mar 19 Why Kirk Cousins might end up being the answer for Giants. Cousins is coming off an Achilles injury in October 2023, but when it comes to recovery, now is about the time he might start looking like himself again. He had rough patches last year, but there were games when he looked like he still has game: against Philly in Week 2, both games against Tampa and a strong performance against Dallas. If traded to New York, Cousins would earn $27.5 million in salary. He'd have Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton and Tyrone Tracy to throw to. And maybe with Cousins aboard, the Giants could convince a few free-agent offensive linemen to head to New York.

Former Giants
Azeez Ojulari has agreed to a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Ojulari had six sacks last season for the New York Giants in 11 games. Ojulari was a second-round pick of the Giants out of the University of Georgia in the 2021 NFL draft. He had eight sacks in 17 games during a promising rookie year but has struggled to stay healthy ever since.

Mar 16 The New York Giants' quarterback search is flopping like a fish out of water, and Russell Wilson isn't making it any easier. The veteran quarterback has now visited both the Cleveland Browns and the Giants in free agency, and after two days of meetings, he's left both without a deal. The Giants have already missed out on Matthew Stafford, Justin Fields, and Sam Darnold. Aaron Rodgers is on his own time deciding his future, and there's no telling when-or if-he'll make a decision.

Mar 14 The Giants hosted veteran free agent Joe Flacco for a visit in East Rutherford on Thursday and will follow that up with a visit from 10-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson on Friday. While the Giants are making the rounds, their primary competition for Aaron Rodgers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, have been left in limbo.

Former Giants
Adoree' Jackson - Following his second stint in East Rutherford, former New York Giants cornerback Adoree' Jackson opted to take his talents elsewhere. After the Giants added former New Orleans Saints star Paulson Adebo on a $54 million contract, it was clear there was little intention of bringing Jackson back into the fold.

Mar 13 The Giants addressed their biggest need on defense as NFL free agency kicked off on Monday, agreeing to terms with cornerback Paulson Adebo. Finding someone to start alongside disappointing 2023 first-round pick Deonte Banks was at the top of the Giants' defensive needs list. Adebo, 25, spent his first four NFL seasons with the Saints, starting 51 of the 52 games he appeared in. Here is a big part of the Giants' attraction to this player: Adebo has 10 career interceptions.

Mar 12 The New York Giants have added a much-needed playmaker to the secondary. Big Blue agreed to a three-year, $45.3 million contract with safety Jevon Holland. A rangy safety with a penchant for big plays, Holland will immediately upgrade a Giants secondary that was wanting in 2024. Safety was a major need in New York entering the offseason, and Joe Schoen made a major splash by adding Holland a year after losing Xavier McKinney in free agency.

The New York Giants have agreed to terms with former Dallas Cowboys edge defender Chauncey Golston on a three-year deal worth $19.5 million. Golston, 27, was a key rotational piece for the Cowboys' defense last season, appearing in all 17 games and recording 56 tackles, 5.5 sacks, one interception, a fumble recovery, and five pass defenses.

Former Giants
Daniel Jones is on the move once again. The Indianapolis Colts are expected to sign the former Giants and Vikings quarterback to a one-year, $14 million contract that's worth up to $17.7 million and includes $13.15 million guaranteed, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday.

Mar 11 The New York Giants agreed to terms on a new deal with wide receiver Darius Slayton, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year begins at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 12. Slayton's 15.0 yards per catch is the eighth-highest average in the NFL (minimum 120 receptions) since the Giants selected him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Mar 9 The New York Giants re-signed quarterback Tommy DeVito on Saturday. He was an exclusive rights free agent. DeVito gets a one-year deal worth $1.03 million, the minimum salary for a player with his experience. There is no guaranteed money. DeVito is the only quarterback currently under contract for the Giants, who are expected to add a veteran in free agency and likely could also pick up a rookie quarterback in the draft. The Giants also agreed to a deal with punter Jamie Gillan on Saturday.

Mar 7 Is Aaron Rodgers the best veteran bridge option for the Giants? There is a case for and against Rodgers. The sideshow that, at times during his tenure with the Jets, created a distraction aside, the biggest case against him is his production decline over the last three seasons. Some will also argue that Rodgers's feelings on the pre-snap motion are another reason to rule him out, but he softened his stance last year.

Mar 4 Special Report - If the Giants are really serious about drafting a quarterback high in the first round in addition to signing a veteran free agent who might become the kid's mentor, the time to do it is fast-approaching. But the important thing for them to remember, at least in this reporter's opinion, is not to fall victim to the glory and glamor of certain well-known veterans - who might only cause them to lose a ton of money in addition to a lot of games. So let's hope that the name Aaron Rodgers is just a little teaser to the other teams in the same search. Rodgers, best known for a sterling career in Green Bay, was signed by the Jets in 2023, well after his storied Packers' career, and last year he began to show signs of his age, 41.

Mar 3 Through the first six games of last season, Joe Schoen thought the offensive line performed well enough for the Giants to play winning football. Unfortunately, there were 12 weeks after that. That's when left tackle Andrew Thomas went down with a season-ending foot injury, restarting a game of musical chairs that no one wanted to play again. After the starting five had played 100 percent of the snaps together to that point, the Giants used 10 different combinations the rest of the way, tying them with the Patriots for the most in the NFL and their 2023 total.

Mar 1 Giants discussing veteran QBs, including Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is set to be a free agent after the New York Jets announced earlier this month that they would be moving on from the quarterback after two seasons. Sam Darnold is also expected to be among the Giants' options, a source said, after his breakout season last year with the Minnesota Vikings.

Feb 28 Travis Hunter makes case to Giants, rest of NFL for playing both sides of the ball. The New York Giants hold the No. 3 overall pick and could select him, depending on what happens with their pursuit of veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, it'll be done with the two letters "DB" on his hoodie signaling his role on the defensive side. However, it might as well be the first prospect garment to show two different positional acronyms on it, as the potential No. 1 overall selection has other plans in mind for his NFL future.

Feb 26 Giants general manager Joe Schoen said he's "happy" for the running back Saquon Barkley, while quietly defending New York's decision to part with the All-Pro in 2024. "I'm happy for Saquon," Schoen said. "Obviously he went on to win the Super Bowl. And we wish him nothing but the best. [You're] always gonna evaluate all the decisions you make, and we were at a different place in our build, and again, [I] love Saquon and wish him nothing but the best." The key phrase: "We were at a different place in our build."

Former Giants
Daniel Jones chose the Minnesota Vikings over a head start at free agency. After surveying his options, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings practice squad, arguably the best landing spot for a quarterback in need of a career revival. Jones' bold decision, joining the active roster for the team's lone playoff game, could now impact his free agency.

Feb 25 The Giants hired NFL veteran Ladell Betts as running backs coach. Brian Daboll added another accomplished player to his staff when he hired Ladell Betts as the Giants' new running backs coach. Betts, a second-round draft choice from the University of Iowa in 2002, spent the past four seasons in the same role at his alma mater. Betts played nine seasons in the NFL, including eight with Washington before finishing his career with New Orleans.

Former Giants
Michael Strahan's career has always felt like a fourth-quarter comeback - effortless, electric, and full of surprises. The Hall of Fame Giants pass rusher-turned-TV titan has spent years juggling morning show charm on Good Morning America and gridiron grit on FOX NFL Sunday. Strahan, 52, will leave GMA by summer 2025, insiders confirm. "He's had enough," one source bluntly stated.

Feb 23 The Giants could be laying the perfect smokescreen. The Giants have done nothing to quiet the Shedeur Sanders speculation this offseason. In fact, they've let the narrative spin completely out of control, and that might be exactly what they want. A big part of the Sanders hype has been fueled by his personal media team. Every viral clip, from sporting custom Giants cleats to playing catch with Malik Nabers and hanging out with Isaiah Simmons, has added to the speculation. Meanwhile, Joe Schoen has stayed quiet, smiling and waving as the rumors swirl.

Feb 21 The likelihood of Kyler Murray wanting a new contract and more money from the Arizona Cardinals in the near future makes a trade to the New York Giants a sensible move during the 2025 offseason. Murray's a former No. 1 overall draft pick, but he's had his injury problems and hasn't always been the most consistent. That's a high price, but no different to what the Los Angeles Rams might ask the Giants to pay for Matthew Stafford. Whether or not Murray is a better option than Stafford is open to debate.

Feb 19 The New York Giants are facing significant changes as running backs coach Joel Thomas departs to rejoin the New Orleans Saints after successfully developing rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. During his season with the Giants, Tracy made history by becoming the third rookie pair in NFL history to each surpass 1,000 total yards, showcasing the impact of Thomas's coaching.

Feb 18 The worst move the Giants could make in their roster building process Not drafting any offensive lineman could lead to disaster. General manager Joe Schoen did not select an offensive lineman in last year's draft. This time, he should take notes from division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, on how they built their line. Philadelphia has drafted five linemen in the last four draft classes. They used premium draft picks, drafting a lineman in the first three rounds in three out of their four previous drafts, to solidify their line and add depth.

Feb 17 Is a 2025 turnaround by the New York Giants possible? There are reasons to think it could happen. Things can change quickly in the NFL. Look at the Washington Commanders, who went from 4-13 in 2023 to 12-5 and the NFC Conference Championship Game in 2024. Besides, this is the offseason. It should be a time for hope. A time for optimism that, with some good decisions over the next few months, 2025 will be better.

Feb 15 The New York Giants signed two former Kansas City Chiefs to contracts for the 2025 season. The signings include defensive back Nic Jones and receiver Montrell Washington. Both were members of the 2023 team that took down the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22, to cement a second consecutive championship.

Feb 14 The Giants are looking into the possibility of selling up to 10% of the team. The Mara and Tisch families currently own 50% of the team. John Mara and Steve Tisch have been in control of the organization on behalf of their families since the deaths of their fathers in 2005. Bob Tisch, Steve's father, bought 50% of the Giants for approximately $75 million in 1991. Tim Mara, John's grandfather, founded the team in 1925 for $500. Forbes' most recent valuation of the Giants came in at $7.3 billion, while CNBC pegged it at $7.85 billion.

Feb 12 The Giants' salary cap situation isn't bad at the moment, but general manager Joe Schoen will still probably have to make some moves at some point. On the surface, that cap space seems like plenty to fill many roster holes, but with quarterback and cornerback being among the team's most pressing needs, that money is expected to evaporate rather quickly.

NFL teams are reportedly hesitant to let HBO document their offseason. The clip of team owner John Mara telling GM Joe Schoen that he's "going to have a hard time sleeping" if star running back Saquon Barkley signed with the rival Philadelphia Eagles is one of the most infamous out-of-competition clips in the history of sports television.

Feb 7 Special Report - Well, Eli Manning didn't make it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but it was only his first year of eligibility and that's almost standard procedure. The problem is that there are many others in this ever-growing list of all-time stars (and a few not so much) who failed to make it on their first try. Conversely, there are some who really don't belong (I would mention their names, but they might have friends locally).
But Eli belongs, and certainly he'll get there one day, but now he's relegated to living that old baseball adage - "wait 'til next year". Showing his high level of class, as he always did in his 16 years with the Giants, Eli simply congratulated those who did make it with no mention of the fact that he didn't. "It's a great honor to have been considered," he said, seemingly ruling out the chance of "wait 'til next year."

Feb 6 Should the New York Giants hitch their wagon to a rookie quarterback in 2025? A big-name veteran? Some form of both? Wide receiver Malik Nabers, fresh off an outstanding rookie season, told PFT Live he has "no preference." Nabers, though, did more or less express a preference. He doesn't want to see the Giants ask a rookie to try and save the franchise without a proper mentor in place to help him.

Jan 30 The New York Giants have a long offseason of work to get their roster back on track to being more competitive following a massively disappointing three-win season that was lowlighted by the offense's struggles. In some cases, the Giants will probably "double dip," adding multiple players either via a freer agency, the draft, or both. Quarterback is one such position that comes to mind as a prime candidate for "double dipping." Cornerback is another.

Jan 28 Malik Nabers named to 2025 Pro Bowl Games. Nabers was named to the Pro Bowl Games as a replacement for Detroit's Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is unable to participate due to injury. He joins defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence II as Giants who will participate in the Pro Bowl Games beginning Thursday.
Nabers, originally named a second alternate, is the Giants' first Pro Bowl wide receiver since Odell Beckham, Jr. was selected to his third in a row in 2016. He is the first Giants rookie Pro Bowler since Beckham in 2014. Both Nabers and Beckham were Giants first-round draft choices from LSU.

Jan 26 Only two years ago, Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito took the NFL stage and likened himself to the fanbase with a heroic three-game winning streak in the middle of a mediocre 6-11 campaign that lost starter, Daniel Jones, to a season-ending ACL injury. However, after being brought back to originally serve as the franchise's third-string gunslinger, DeVito was thrust back into the spotlight in the middle of another struggling run and couldn't resurrect the same magic he had once before.

Former Giants
Daniel Jones - Carl Banks mentions names such as Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, and Darnold as examples of why Daniel Jones can revive his career. Each one of those three quarterbacks has emerged as Pro Bowl players after leaving their initial teams at the start of their careers.

Jan 23 The moment the final whistle blew at the New York Giants season finale a few weeks back, a reset began. The following day, general manager Joe Schoen stepped to the podium and declared the next four months would be spent upgrading the roster via free agency and the draft. Nowhere is the need to upgrade more glaring than the quarterback position.
Daniel Jones is gone, Drew Lock and Tim Boyle free agents, and only Tommy DeVito (exclusive rights free agent) is expected to return. There is more than just the quarterback position that must be addressed. John Mara highlighted his disappointment in the defense and the need for depth on the offensive line.

Jan 21 After failing to get a contract extension from the New York Giants last offseason, receiver Darius Slayton is set to hit the free agent market, where he could land a profitable deal. Spotrac projects Slayton's market value to bring him a two-year, $31.720 million contract, an average of $15.9 million annually. The projected deal would also put Slayton 22nd among receivers if it were to come to fruition and would more than double the $6 million average salary he received from the Giants.

Jan 20 It seems like every season, the New York Giants field an offensive line with the sole purpose of creating an excuse for its stars. Eli Manning's final seasons would've been sweeter with more time; fewer sacks would have aided Daniel Jones' development; just imagine what Saquon Barkley could've done with better play up front. In 2024, the tides seemed to be turning. The unit was healthy for Week 1, and for the first six weeks of the season, New York got acceptable play from its linemen. Jones and the rushing offense subsequently looked the part.

Jan 19 NFL may sideline 'Hard Knocks: Offseason' after Giants disaster. To the surprise of many, New York Giants co-owner John Mara signed off on the team appearing in "Hard Knocks: Offseason" last year in celebration of their 100th season. In hindsight, Mara might like to have that decision back. The Giants were unjustly confident and paid the price for it.

Jan 18 The New York Giants' eventual quarterback decision this offseason will shape the remainder of general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll's respective tenures with the team. Will they go all-in on a young quarterback prospect in the draft? Will they look to trade for a veteran QB, or sign one in NFL free agency? The best method could be to double down at the position, adding both a veteran and a rookie, and Kirk Cousins might be an ideal bridge starter in that scenario.

Jan 17 Stay or go: Should Giants bring Tommy DeVito back for the 2025 season? In just two seasons with the Giants, Tommy DeVito has become a bit of a cultural phenomenon. Born and raised in New Jersey, DeVito attended Don Bosco Prep and then Syracuse before finishing his collegiate career at Illinois. Despite joining the team as an undrafted free agent, DeVito has quickly become a fan favorite, appearing in 12 games with eight starts over the last two seasons while throwing for 11 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Jan 16 The New York Giants have fired defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator Jerome Henderson and safeties coach Mike Treier, per NFL insider Mike Garafolo. Henderson had been with the Giants since 2020 when he was initially hired by Joe Judge. He is a former NFL player and has been a defensive backs coach in the NFL since 2007. Henderson, 55, has been a highly-respected coach. These moves are perhaps another indication that Bowen will remain as defensive coordinator, and that the Giants could lean into finding players and coaches more in tune with the scheme Bowen wants to run.

Jan 15 While figuring out the quarterback situation is easily the top priority for the Giants this offseason, improving the defense has to be a close second. The Giants ended the season ranking 21st in points and 24th in yards allowed. The run defense was the team's Achilles heel, as the unit finished 27th in rushing yards allowed and 24th in rushing yards allowed per attempt. The Giants held only four opponents to under 100 rushing yards this season, while allowing over 125 yards on the ground nine different times. The one area the defense really found success in was in the red zone. The Giants allowed a touchdown on 29 of 54 trips inside their 20-yard line, with that 53.7 percent red zone defense ranking 11th in the NFL.

Jan 14 The latest on what is known about the 2025 NFL salary cap and where the Giants stand. Postseason accounting is apparently done for the non-playoff teams, and according to Over the Cap, the New York Giants will carry over $1.172 million of leftover 2024 cap space into 2025. The Giants' carryover cap amount is the third-lowest of all 32 teams, behind only the Jets ($345,919) and Panthers ($490,368).

Jan 13 Expect Shane Bowen to be back with the Giants in 2025 for a second season as the defensive coordinator. Sure, the less-than-shocking news Sunday that Mike Vrabel was hired as the Patriots head coach sparked speculation that Bowen could be headed to New England, considering Bowen made the calls on defense for four years when Vrabel was the Titans head coach. The belief, according to sources, is that Bowen wants to remain with the Giants and that Vrabel is thinking of going in a different direction as he assembles his new coaching staff.

Former Giants
Michael Strahan, Hall of Fame defensive end and beloved New York Giants icon, publicly torched Joe Schoen's decision-making during a FOX broadcast. His target? The offseason moves-or lack thereof-that sent Saquon Barkley and Xavier McKinney packing to rival teams.

Jan 12 The New York Giants thought they had their offensive line woes behind them when they entered the 2024 regular season. General manager Joe Schoen had added two key free agents (Jermaine Eluemunor and Jon Runyan Jr.) to mix in with his young core of tackles Andrew Thomas and Evan Neal and center John Michael Schmitz, and optimism was high. Then, the wheels came off. Little by little the line disintegrated and by the time the season ended, the Giants had used 10 different combinations along the offensive line - tied for the most in the NFL this season and matching last year's fire drill of a system.

Jan 11 Giants general manager Joe Schoen built a roster capable of winning three games and a culture capable of losing 14. From letting priority free agents walk in the name of positional value to helping ensure no team ever signs up for an offseason edition of Hard Knocks ever again, it's been a turbulent two seasons since winning a playoff game in Year 1. His lack of success may only be matched by the criticism he's facing for an October skirmish with veteran corner Nick McCloud.

Former Giants
Daniel Jones has joined the Minnesota Vikings, a team firmly in the hunt for a Super Bowl title and recognized as one of the most consistent in the NFL. Initially signed to the practice squad in November 2024, Jones has now earned a promotion to the active roster. Head coach Kevin O'Connell has already expressed satisfaction with Jones' development, suggesting he could potentially become Sam Darnold's backup quarterback.

Jan 10 If it could go wrong for the Giants this season, it did. They got blown out in the opener and the opposing coach said his team was "more prepared." Twenty players and coaches spoke to ESPN about one of the worst seasons in franchise history. Insecurity, lack of accountability, conviction and veteran leadership in the locker room were some of the reasons pinpointed by those who took stock of what went wrong.

Jan 9 John Mara, one-half of the team's ownership, tried to explain the reasons for running it back with Schoen and Daboll when he met with the media on Monday after the decision was announced. But during his 11-minute session, Mara, who claimed to have confidence in the duo still, seemed to contradict himself.

Former Giants
Eli Manning would be interested in having a Minority NFL Ownership Stake. The Giants aren't for sale, but if the team was, the Giants' all-time passing record holder would be interested in a minority ownership stake.

Jan 8 Given a guarantee that they will have the opportunity to improve the Giants' fortunes, Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll set out to do exactly that. But in separate news conferences this afternoon, they offered scant detail how they plan to do it. Daboll's job security was the subject of much outside speculation over the last six weeks of the season. But Mara deemed the continuity of keeping his G.M. and coach together was better than creating upheaval by re-filling one or both jobs.

Former Giants
Isaiah Hodgins, who starred when he came to the New York Giants during the second half of the 2022 season but saw his role diminish the last two seasons, has left the Giants for the San Francisco 49ers.

Jan 7 The New York Giants are retaining general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll off a 3-14 season, team president John Mara announced in a statement. Daboll said he was officially told of his return Monday morning. He admitted nothing was good enough this past season, the results were "terrible," and the team has a lot of work to do moving forward.
Schoen and Daboll each has two years remaining on his contract. They will be under pressure to produce a better result immediately. While Mara didn't put a specific timeline on a turnaround, he didn't offer much leeway. "Better not take too long, because I've just about run out of patience," Mara said.

Game 17 Preview - Giants (3-13) - Eagles (13-3)
Last week the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys were tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter. After that, the Eagles ran away with the game, and had a 41-7 win over the Cowboys.
The Giants scored big in their game with the Indianapolis Colts. Once they took the lead in the first quarter, they never let go, and finished with a 45-33 win over the Colts.

Jan 4 The New York Giants already lost control of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by defeating the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday. They aren't going to enter Sunday's season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles worrying about trying to improve their current No. 4 spot in the draft order. They are entering the game trying to finish the season with back-to-back victories. For the Giants, every healthy starter will play.

Jan 3 Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence is an unsurprising Pro Bowl starter for the NFC. It's the third year in a row Lawrence has earned this accolade, the first of which will likely not be accompanied by an All-Pro selection. That's a testament to his health, though, and not his performance. Lawrence finished his year with a career-high nine sacks in 12 games. Receiver Malik Nabers was named an alternate. Edge rusher Brian Burns was also named an alternate.

Jan 2 Malik Nabers didn't just catch the ball against the Indianapolis Colts, he ran long distances once he had it in his hands. The result was the most productive and exciting game in the rookie's terrific rookie season. Nabers scored two touchdowns and finished with a season-high 171 receiving yards on seven catches in the Giants' 45-33 victory against the Colts.

Saquon Barkley gets rest instead of rushing record. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni ended the suspense Wednesday by saying "we're going to rest some guys," saying that includes Barkley. The Eagles have bigger goals, and so does Barkley.

Jan 1 As the calendar flips to 2025, the New York Giants face another off-season of soul-searching after a dismal 2024 campaign. This team doesn't just need tweaks; it needs a complete overhaul. While some issues plaguing the Giants have persisted for years, others emerged as harsh realities this season. These four resolutions will help the franchise escape its rut and restore its reputation.
