Game
Notes: "The
starters for the Giants only played for a little bit in the first quarter, and
they scored first. That was fine, because we need everyone to be healthy when
the Giants play the Cowboys in the first game of the regular season. Eli Manning
looked good once again, but all the rest of his backups came in, and none looked
sharp. It was good to see Jeremy Shockey on the field, and he caught four passes
for 47 yards. With this loss to New England, the Giants finished the preseason
with a 1-3 record, but we saw a lot of good things on the field from both the
offense and defense. We seem to have a lot of talented backups, but they have
a lot to learn. The most important thing of all is that Eli Manning was the best
we've seen him so far."
Game
Notes: "The Giants looked good
last week playing against the Jets until the start of the second half, then the
tide changed fast. Why? Well, the Giants second string was in against the Jets
starters. This game against New England started out with the G1 unit in against
their E2. Of course the Giants looked good with that matchup and they went up
7-0 (though only after a tough struggle on fourth and goal). Once the Giants took
their starters out, they fell behind. Tom
Coughlin was not happy with the backups last week, and I can't say he'll be very
happy after tonight. This preseason has shown that once you take out the Giants
first string, you have nothing. You
can pray for a season with no injuries, but they sure haven't gotten off to much
of a good start in that area."
