Notes: "By the end of the first half
I was happy that the Giants were totally controlling this game even if it wasn't
translating into the kind of points you would like to see. Oddly, the scoreboard
matched the number of first downs by each team - Giants 14, Bucs 0. I shouldn't
have worried though because Tampa Bay was never able to get anything going on
offense and this turned into an easy 24-0 win by the Giants. Brandon Jacobs
rushed 6 yards for the first touchdown of the game and his first of the season.
Eli Manning threw touchdown passes to Steve Smith and Sinorice Moss. The Giants
were even able to pull Eli Manning, and Brandon Jacobs and let backup David Carr
and running back Gartrell Johnson get
some playing time. Now the Giants are 3-0 and looking pretty good as they head
out to play the Chiefs in Kansas City next week."
Game Notes: "The
Giants went up 14-0 with ease, but when the rain came it diminished their ability
to score points. Tampa fans, praying for any kind of help they could possibly
get for their miserable football team, could only reach the football rain gods
who did their best when they doused the field. Thanks to them, there was no scoring
even once the rain had stopped and on to the end of the first half when Lawrence
Tynes missed an easy 21 yard field goal attempt. In the third quarter Tynes
might have also joined in prayer this time, with the large group of Giant fans
who usually pray when he's out there, because he nailed a 26 yard field goal to
put the score at 17-0. The score went to 24-0 in the fourth quarter when Sinorice
Moss caught an 18 yard pass for his first catch and touchdown of the season. The
Giants defense stopped the Bucs cold all game and held them to just 86 total yards
and a mere 16:22 minutes of playing time while the Giants offense held the ball
for 43:38. The Giants showed they could run the ball this week picking up 226
yards on the ground, and after three games, the group of young receivers continue
to come up strong." Early
