Game
Notes: "With the real troops in there
tonight, the results were much different than last week, and Tim Carter on a reverse
for the first offensive play of the game - wow! There shouldn't have been any
empty seats, because you got to see some real Giants football. OK for only the
first half, but it certainly was enjoyable. Manning completed almost every pass
he threw and seven different receivers came away with completions. After he led
the offense to a 14-0 lead, there was no sense leaving him in and Rob Johnson
completed the 2nd quarter. Brandon Jacobs replaced Tiki Barber before the end
of the 1st quarter and was very effective to say the least. Our defense shoved
Kansas City all over the field and now I have to cool down and keep reminding
myself that it's just one preseason game."
Game Notes:
"Gamegirl was right to put in her
disclaimer. Just as we couldn't judge this team playing last week against Baltimore,
we had no idea what Herm Edwards was going for when he fielded his preseason Chiefs.
It didn't look like they were focused on winning this game. This was a short week
for the Giants since they played just last Friday. The Chiefs were worse off with
even one day less on their schedule, and they were the traveling team for both
their preseason games. The Chiefs were lackluster. We didn't see them playing
anyway near the way they will play this season. The Giants had the ball for a
long time, and Manning looked as good as ever, the defense hung tough, backups
filled in well and all, but let's see if this carries over to even the next preseason
game let alone the first scheduled game of the year against the Colts."
