Brandon Jacobs rushed for 27 yards on 2 carries.

Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 4 yards on 3 carries.
Sinorice Moss caught 2 passes for 55 yards.
Brandon London caught 3 passes for 46 yards.
Craphonso Thorpe caught 1 pass for 13 yards for a touchdown.
Lawrence Tynes kicked a 33 yard field goal after missing on a 44 yarder.
Game Notes:
"Last year in the opening preseason game, Jeremy Shockey caught a
touchdown pass from Eli Manning. Well those days are over. In fact, the
way things looked in the first quarter, the idea of Manning getting a
touchdown pass to anyone on the field, looked like a remote possibility.
He completed only two of his six passes, one to Hixon and his last pass
a completion to Ward. Manning didn't get any more chances as Anthony Wright
took over at the start of the second quarter.
He came out looking sharp, completing his first four passses, but three
incompletes from the Detroit 15 yard line gave Lawrence Tynes a chance
to redeem himself after missing on his first attempt, and he made this
one good. That put the Giants on the scoreboard for the first time, trailing
the Lions 7-3.
The Lions scored a field goal on their next possesion to make it 10-3.
With only 55 seconds left before the half, Wright nicely completed five
of his next six passes, but a fumble killed that drive. David Carr took
over for the rest of the game. Like Wright he also completed most of his
passes including one to Craphonso Thorpe that went for a 13 yard touchdown
to tie the score 10-10 at the start of the fourth quarter. Detroits field
goal gave them a 13-10 lead and that was enough to send their fans home
happy with a preseason win over the Super Bowl Giants."
Game Notes:
"The
Giants looked pretty lackluster on both offense and defense to set the
tone of this game as Detroit was more up for this preseason event. Jon
Kitna had his group looking sharp as they took the field and started this
game off with a touchdown drive against the slow moving Giants defense.
Manning took over for the Giants and missed Brandon Jacobs with a short
toss. Jacobs got things going with a 27 yard run on the next play, but
that was about the extent of the exciement Giants fans got to see in the
first quarter.
This being preseason, Manning was gone after just two series. The backup
quarterbacks did a nice job but overall the team seemed out of step, but
that's what these preseason games are for. The Giants did manage to make
it close and tie up the game in the fourth quarter, but overall
this was one big learning experince"
