Game
Notes: "While
it was a great distraction to get out and forget, at least for a little while,
the hardship caused by Superstorm Sandy, it was still a little disappointing to
see the Giants falter and lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They could have won
this game if the offense had been productive and if the special teams unit hadn't
suddenly seemed to disappear. Somehow the Eli Manning passing 'connection'
to anyone wearing a Giants jersey past the line of scrimmage seems to have disappeared.
Eli is off his game or his receivers are. What else could explain the poor numbers
you've seen in the past few games. This was Eli's worst game of the season, as
he completed only 10 passes and threw 1 interception. The only bright spot
was the defense which was put in tough positions throughout the game. Still, even
they couldn't stop the Steelers running game, where Isaac Redman ran on them for
147 yards. Next week the Giants have
to travel to Cincinnati and it looks like they have to hit the books and figure
out what's going wrong."
Game
Notes: "Years from now when they draw
quarterback comparisons between Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning, this will
be one game Giant fans will not be submitting. Roethlisberger completed 21 of
his 30 passes for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns. Both quarterbacks threw 1 interception,
but Manning had no touchdowns and only 125 yards on 10 completions. His last game
was the worst of this season and this one scored even lower. Manning has thrown
four interceptions and just one touchdown in the past three games. Something is
off and the Giants can use a bye week to figure how to fix it. Luckily that's
coming up, but not before they face
Cincinnati next week. They still lead the division just past the halfway mark
with a 6-3 record and are lucky that the competition is also struggling at this
point. That could always change and it would be nice to finish out the second
half of the season with more wins than losses." Scoring:
