and 1 touchdown. Jeremy Shockey caught 12 passes for 129 yards and 1 touchdown. Plaxico
Burress caught 4 passes for 24 yards. Amani Toomer caught 3 passes for 37 yards. Michael

Game
Notes: "You
hate to lose a game at home to the Cowboys, especially when you were tied 17-17
at the half. At that point, the Giants were hitting on Jeremy Shockey pretty good,
and the defense was doing a nice job stopping Terrell Owens. Shockey had caught
8 passes for 86 yards, including 1 touchdown, and Terrell Owens had 3 catches
for 31 yards, and another aimed at him intercepted by Gibril
Wilson. Three of the four passes that went incomplete on Tony Romo in the half
were intended for Terrell Owens. Dallas seemed to be losing it, racking up a bunch
of costly penalties, including the one that gave the Giants their chance to tie
the score in the final seconds of the half. After that things changed. Shockey
was still effective catching 4 more passes for 43 yards, but the defense could
no longer stop the Tony Romo to Terrell Owens connection. Owens
ended up the day with 6 catches for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns. Romo missed on
only 4 more of his passes, making him 20 of 28 with 247 yards and 4 touchdowns.
That was plenty enough to beat the Giants today who suddenly self-destructed on
a number of plays and missed some great opportunities."
Game
Notes: "The Giants have rediscovered
Jeremy Shockey a little too late, and they were also too late in this game getting
their plays off on time. It looked like amateur hour out there for Eli Manning
and you know, this is nothing new. The play clock always seems near the last tick
when the Giants offense finally decides to snap the ball. The nickname 'Easy Eli'
might have been good growing up, but isn't working out too well in the pros.
It seems life in the NFL isn't easy unless your name is Tony Romo. Eli, go out
and buy a stopwatch and get the g---damn plays off on time. You shouldn't even
have to be an 'elite quarterback' to accomplish that. Either give Dallas some
credit or take away from how the Giants offense was being run (I'd go with that),
their defense sacked Manning five times and intercepted him twice. Still, looking
at the Giants schedule and the whole NFC East, I see them finishing right behind
the Cowboys, getting a wildcard shot and another big game with this team. Let's
hope they can pull it off by then and figure out how to stop Tony Romo. Eight
of the 16 touchdown passes allowed by the Giants this season belong to him." Early

catches for 129 yards. Shockey is the 12th player in Giants history with 4,000
receiving yards (4096). Michael
Strahan’s fifth sack of the season increased his career total to 137.5. That
ties him with Richard Dent for fifth place on the NFL’s career list. Romo
is the 62nd different quarterback Strahan has sacked. Last
time the Cowboys started a season at 8-1 was 1995, the last time they won the
Super Bowl. Next
