Giants come back against the
Texans 14-10. They used the no-huddle in the fourth quarter to go ahead.

Barber rushed for 115 yards on 17 carries and scored 1 touchdown. Brandon
Jacobs rushed for 19 yards on 7 carries. Jeremy Shockey caught 8 passes for
66 yards and 1 touchdown. Tiki Barber caught 3 passes for 40 yards. Mathias
Kiwanuka had 1 sack. Gerris Wilkinson caused a fumble and Corey Webster recovered
it. Game
Notes: "Even if you had good seats
it was hard to tell today which team was the 5-2 Giants and which was the 2-5
Texans. The Giants were supposed to win this one easy, and they were really blowing
it. They let the Texans go ahead 10-7 in the third quarter and there was no guarantee
that they would pull it out the way they were playing. The refs were no help,
because it sure looked like Jeremy Shockey scored on a 25 yard touchdown pass,
but they took it away. Still, the Giants got down to the five yard line, but a
holding penalty and back to back sacks on Eli Manning killed the drive. Once
again you're left begging for Tiki Barber to return next year, because he racked
up a lot of yards, both running and catching the ball this game. He did that in
the drive that put the Giants ahead in the fourth quarter when Shockey caught
a touchdown pass that the refs didn't take away. This one was close. Who was the
oddsmaker who decided the Giants should be 13 point favorites for this game?"
Game Notes:
"This week Michael Strahan was asked about
going against the Texans and David Carr and he replied. 'If he gets sacked, he
gets sacked ... If not, at least frustrate him and hit him and don't let him get
comfortable in the pocket. And let him feel the rush.' Well, Carr was so relaxed
back there that he probably wondered why they weren't passing on every play.
The Giants were very effective against the run, and they were lucky that the Texans
couldn't put points up on the board, even missing on one field goal attempt. The
Giants weren't much better in the third quarter when they botched their field
goal attempt and had Jeff Feagles passing the ball to Jay Feely who dropped the
ball. The refs said something to the effect that 'Feely didn't perform a football
act' which sounds something like you or I running on the field and trying to catch
the ball. Anyway, the Texans then went ahead of the Giants with a touchdown
after a long 8 minute plus drive near the end of the third quarter. The players
got really excited about it in the endzone since they were on the road and were
leading for a change, but there is no crying in baseball, and no emotion allowed
in the NFL, so the refs hit them with a penalty for having a 'group celebration'.
The Giants went to a no-huddle drive early in the fourth quarter, with Eli Manning
completing almost all his passes including the one to Shockey that got the lead
back for the final time." Early
