Game
Notes: "The Giants won this
one but it was as strange as the winter storm we had yesterday. At the stadium
you could see the snow piled off to the side areas and the Giants played as if
they were somehow frozen in the first half. They let the winless Dolphins push
them around until the score was 14-3 and had to really work at making it a respectable
14-10 at the halftime break. I figured they would review things and correct what
they were doing wrong, but right away they let the Dolphins score on the opening
drive at the start of the third quarter and were down 17-10. I guess I shouldn't
have worried (yeah right) but that's all the points the defense allowed for the
rest of the game. Brandon Jacobs had been making noise this week about how
he might not be here next year. Some fans in the stadium, including some wearing
number 27, were almost hoping he was gone now. He was a big disappointment In
this game starting off fumbling Eli Manning's handoff and then dropping a pass.
They tried to work him in more, but it seems that the fire is gone. I for one
sure hope he gets it back. I love seeing him at his best and I don't know what
the problem is. Ahmad Bradshaw had one real nice long run, but overall he did
better as a receiver. The Giants still can't get the ground game going for them
this year and that's going to hurt with the competition we have coming up next."
Game Notes:
"Snow didn't deter the Dolphins and neither
did the Giants for most of this game. The Giants defense was bloodied for 14 first
half points from a team that usually averages just 15 per game. Matt Moore obviously
ignored the bad footage of how poorly he played here last time. Instead he looks
to have spent long hours gazing at some Tim Tebow flicks after seeing what that
quarterback did to his team last week. Suddenly, third down plays were no problem
and he could run the ball with ease, even trotting into the endzone for one score. The
Giants defense didn't buckle down on this team until halfway into the third quarter.
Then they held them scoreless, giving the offense a chance to catch up and finally
go ahead to avoid what could have been an embarrassing loss. Once again Eli Manning
had to do it all himself as every time they turned to the running game it came
up short. So they chalked up a win today, but the same big problems that were
there before the bye week still exist. They can't stop the running game and they
can't run the ball. Good luck next week against New England." Scoring:
