Game Notes:
"So this game starts with Plaxico on the sidelines. Why? - Not because of an injury, but because he didn't show up for a treatment sesion when - maybe he thought he didn't have to. This stuff is getting old. Plaxico was back in the game in the second quarter but he wasn't much of a factor finishing up with just 3 catches for 15 yards. Anyway, this was some game and it had everything, benchings, two touchdown challenges, undeserved penalties, foolish penalties, sacks, interceptions, going for it on fourth downs, a safety, and finally, a fourth quarter tie score with less than 7 minutes left.
Both these teams gave it their all
and it was a very exciting matchup. As advertised, the Steelers were tough to run on, even for the Giants. For those of you who always argue about the Eli Manning - Ben Roethlisberger thing, Roethlisberger came out way behind in this matchup. He completed less than half of his passes for 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions. To be sure, he beat the Giants defense a few times, but they gave him a lot of pressure. He was sacked 5 times and knocked down 16 times. Eli Manning did just fine, and a few times drives were hurt by dropped passes that should have been caught. I'm looking forward to seeing the Giants take on the Cowboys next week."

Game Notes:
"Twenty one points does not three touchdowns make. Well, usually it does, but not today. The Giants scored four field goals, a safety and one touchdown to come up with that number, and we'll take it. This was a real physical game. By the end of the half, Pittsburgh was sporting a number of injuries from an aggressive Giants defense. Ben Roethlisberger took some hits and had his left hand taped up. The Giants had some injuries too. Kevin Dockery had to leave the game, but that looked more like a result of Antonio Pierce falling on him. Even though they were up 9-7, the Pittsburgh defense was on the field almost twice as much as the Giants.
I thought this would be a bigger factor in the second half, but like the Giants the Steelers have good depth, and the Giants on offense weren't able to take advantage of the great field position they had. I'll always go back to saying that as long as Tom Coughlin insists on calling the 'red zone' the 'green zone', the football gods will look down and laugh and have their way with him. By the time Tom Coughlin retires, he may end up with the worse stats on scoring touchdowns when his team is in his dreamworld 'green zone' (Tom come-on now get with it , red zone - proper NFL recognized designation).
As we said in the preview, all the NFC East teams but the Giants were favored to win today and they all did, including the Giants. This is a tough bunch and the Giants start taking them on with Dallas next week, and the Eagles the week after. After a break(?) playing Baltimore and Arizona, they have Washington, Philadelphia and Dallas all in a row,"
