Game Notes:
"That was an awesome first
half, and you know what? That was an awesome second half too. I don't
know where to start. Last year the Giants were exciting to watch on the
road, and were not too good at home. This season they seem to be determined
to make it up to the paying fans, and they're really delivering. Eli Manning
looked like the greatest quarterback who ever played for the Giants and
he completed every pass in the first quarter, bringing the Giants to a
14-3 lead. Eli never finished the game, but that was a good thing! By
the fourth quarter he had thrown for 267 yards and two touchdowns and
with the Giants sitting on a 37-6 lead, Coughlin decided to put David
Carr in the game to mop up.
All the players looked up for this game. Plaxico Burress didn't play,
but It seemed like every other receiver on the roster got a shot. Sinorice
Moss even caught the first two touchdowns of his career, one from Eli
Manning and the other from David Carr.
Overall the Giants played great on both offense and defense except for
a few penalties, and owned the Seahawks this game. They play at Cleveland
next Monday night, but I can't wait to see them play their next game at
home against San Francisco."
Game Notes:
"The
Giants have moved the ball well on offense so far this season. They just
haven't come away with as many points as you'd like to see for their efforts.
The Rams were the exception, and Seattle did well against that team as
well. Today the Giants made almost every drive count all the way up to
the scoreboard. Jeff Feagles played in his 334th game and barely earned
his salary, having to punt only twice in this game.
The offensive line managed to keep the Seahawks defense off of Eli Manning
with the exception of Patrick Kerney who got to him for a sack and forced
a fumble that the Giants recovered. That was pretty good considering that
Kerney had a career-high 14 1/2 sacks last season which was the second-best
in the NFL. He's still on a tear this year and now has four.
The Seahawks had been good against the run, but they couldn't stop the
Giants in the air or on the ground. It looks like Plaxico missed the biggest
game of the season, and Eli had all the other receivers feasting in his
absence. Maybe he'll look at things a bit differently - at least for the
rest of the season, maybe.
Even though the Seahawks scored only 6 points on two drives, Tom Coughlin
will be sure to point out that they were assisted by penalties committed
by the Giants. That was one of the things he was trying to stress during
the bye week.
