Notes: "The Giants aren't thinking,
'We should have won that game.' this time. Look at the scoreboard quarter by quarter.
Giants 0-3-0-27. Last week it was Giants 7-0-0-17. What's wrong with this team?
Wake up Giants, the first three quarters of a football game do count! The Giants
scored 4 fourth-quarter touchdowns, and even that wasn't enough this time. Now
think about this. Being ahead 42-3 going into the fourth quarter, the Seahawks
had to know for sure that the Giants were going to an all out passing game, and
still they couldn't stop it. Who does the game planning for this team? Jeremy
Shockey seemed to be really annoyed that the refs didn't call a penalty on the
Seahawks when they went for that 2 point play in the fourth quarter. It looked
like someone was all over him in the endzone. Then on the last play of the game
after he caught an 18 yard pass, a ref came up for the ball, and Shockey showed
his respect by flipping it away. Anyway, you have to say that Fred Robbins
never quits on a play, and that there are some really good players on this team
giving all that they have. All we need is for the coaching staff to figure out
how to get the best out of them for all four quarters."
Game Notes:
"The Seahawks realized how stupid
the Philadelphia Eagles were last week. It takes more than a 17 point lead going
into the 4th quarter to beat the Giants. They made sure that they had 39 in the
bank. Right on schedule in the fourth quarter, the Giants came alive and threw
up 27 points, but the Seahawks had that covered, and they got the win. Manning
and the offensive line were a little shaky in the beginning, and so were the receivers.
The pass rush was non existent as well as the secondary coverage, and that cost
the Giants big time in the first half. Manning settled down. Plaxico Burress was
hurt or benched, and the defense finally settled in. If Plaxico was benched,
all I can say is that it's up to a coach to bring out the best in his players.
That's his job. Coughlin sat Burress out of that San Diego game last year when
Eli Manning could have used him the most and they lost. If Burress was out last
game against the Eagles the Giants would certainly have lost. They might not have
won this game anyway, but if you don't know how to coach players past their mistakes
or that it's important to keep your talent on the field, then please excuse yourself
and find another job." Early
