Game
Notes: "Believe me, the Patriots knew
they were in trouble when the halftime score was 7-3, even though they had the
lead. Normally this team was breaking records at this point in the game, and this
time they had to struggle just to put up seven. Neither team scored in the third
quarter, and the Giants took the lead back in the fourth with a touchdown pass
to David Tyree. It probably caught the Patriots by surprise, because it was
David Tyree's first touchdown catch of the season. The Patriots managed to go
ahead 14-10, and then it was all on the Giants offense to either win or lose this
game. Eli Manning came up strong, scrambling and throwing and his touchdown pass
to Plaxico Burress gave the Giants a 17-14 lead. The New England Patriots had
just 35 seconds left on the clock, and even with a few time outs, that wasn't
enough for them to tie or go ahead and they saw their perfect season come to an
end."
Game
Notes: "The third youngest team,
lead by the oldest coach in the league, beat the undefeated New England Patriots
in the Super Bowl. It was a tough fought victory with the outcome in doubt down
to the last minutes of the game, and it was a game that will be very hard to forget.
The Patriots usually score on over half the drives they start, but against this
Giants' awesome strong willed defense, they were only able to score on two out
of their nine chances in this game. The 14 points the Patriots scored was the
lowest output in their 19 games, and not enough to continue their dream of an
unbeaten season. Instead the Giants dream of winning a Super Bowl was the one
that came true." Early
