Notes: "The way the schedule
has worked out, it's been a good long time since Giants fans have been able to
attend a Monday Night Football Game, and it was a beautiful night. As an extra
treat, it also included a halftime ceremony where members of the Giants Super
Bowl XXI team were honored. The offense started off looking real good, moving
the ball downfield until Rams Quintin Mikell came up with a real big play. Cutting
across the field, he snared a pass from Eli Manning meant for Mario Manningham.
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford quickly showed off his skills under the Monday Night
Football Lights. Starting at the Rams 14 yard line, he got his team down to the
Giants 1 yard line using a no-huddle offense that nailed our defense with a 68-yard
pass. Luckily they were able to dig in and hold the Rams to a fieldgoal. The
Giants offense went three-and-out, but got lucky when the Rams muffed a punt,
and they got the ball back at the Rams 38 yard line. The Giants were able to convert
on a fourth down and four and they soon cashed in with a 3 yard touchdown pass
to Hakeem Nicks to put the score 7-3 in their favor. The Rams came back with
another fieldgoal, but the Giants stayed out in front with two more touchdowns
to close out the half leading 21-6. That last touchdown came from a spectacular
one handed catch by Domenik Hixon in the endzone. Unfortunately he seemed to be
hurt on the play and Aaron Ross was returning punts after that. It was great seeing
Justin Tuck back on the field this game. His mere presence fires up the other
players and he was in the thick of things participating in 2 sacks. He was assisted
on one by Jason Pierre Paul."
Game Notes:
"Not losing kept the Giants from being
an overall 0-2 and 0-2 in the conference. The Rams own that distinction now. Coming
into this game they were pretty beat up after playing the Eagles. Gone was their
top cornerback Ron Bartell, out for the season with a broken neck, and their top
running back, Steven Jackson, wasn't able to play. Cadillac Williams wasn't as
productive as he was last week when he replaced Jackson. In fact he was partially
responsible for costing his team 7 points when he watched Michael Boley pick up
a backwards pass intended for him and score a 65-yard touchdown. On the bad
side, Mario Manningham left the game with a possible concussion and Domenik Hixon
hurt his right leg while making an incredible touchdown catch. If you remember,
he missed the entire 2010 season with a torn ACL in his right knee. It would be
a shame if he misses more time this year. The Giants secondary showed that they
still can be had. That will have to be fixed if they expect to be a contender.
Next week the Giants travel to Philadelphia
to take on the Eagles, who could be without Michael Vick because of the concussion
he sustained in Sunday's game against Atlanta." Scoring:

Notes:
Giants still have 17 players left from the Super
Bowl XLII team when Steve Spagnuolo was the defensive coordinator. Giants
have not won a playoff game since Super Bowl XLII. Giants
Aaron Ross returned a punt in a regular season game for the first time. Rams
Sam Bradford's pass to Danario Alexander for 68 yards was the longest of his career. Rams
have four former Giants players: Fred Robbins, Craig Dahl, Bryan Kehl, James Butler. Defensive
tackle Fred Robbins and safety James Butler were starters in Super Bowl XLII. Safety
Craig Dahl was on injured reserve because of knee injury. Rams,
since the move to St. Louis, have played the Giants nine times with the Rams winning
the first four and the Giants taking the next five. Next
