Game
Notes: "It's hard to even talk at
this point after watching this game, and as they've told me, in
the past 18 games between the Giants and Cowboys, 11 have been decided by a touchdown
or less, so fine, this one makes it 12. The Giants have heard all season that
they cleaned up on weak teams and lost to the good ones. Now they showed they
could beat one of the so called 'powerhouse' teams. In this game, the Giants
got off to a fast start, scoring on their first possession. Dallas took the field,
but when Tony Romo came off the field without any points, he wasn't smiling. Right
then the Cowboy fans should have realized that they were in trouble. When does
this guy never smile? Still, Dallas owned the whole second quarter, taking about
ten and a half minutes to score a touchdown for the go ahead lead, but Eli Manning's
offense needed just a small thin sliver of time to set things right. It took just
46 seconds for them to tie the score at 14-14. . Things were looking bad when
the Cowboys took another eight minutes off the clock in the third quarter to go
ahead 17-14, but that was it for them. The Giants went ahead in the fourth quarter
with a two and a half minute drive to put them up 21-17, and even with about thirteen
and a half minutes left, the Giants defense held them to two punts and an interception,
and that was it."
Game
Notes: "So the Giants didn't
hold the ball as long as the Cowboys by a full 13 minutes. So the Giants made
less than half the first down plays with just six to the Cowboys thirteen. So
the Giants came up with as much as 100 less yards than the Cowboys, 230-336. So
what. These Giants defy all the odds and the odds makers and continue to win.
Right now they are in the process of righting the wrongs of the season, and that
started with correcting a loss to the Cowboys in game one and in their second
matchup. Mission accomplished! The correction started in the second half of
this game when Terrell Owens had zero catches when being thrown to four times.
He was joined by Patrick Crayton who had one catch, and also against four incompletions.
That added up to Tony Romo being granted a second early vacation with his girlfriend
of choice. Now's time for the Giants to avenge the second game loss to the
Packers when they play next week in
the NFC Championship game, and then with some luck, bring on the Patriots and
end their perfect season in the Super Bowl. As we said last week and hope to keep
repeating, that would be some way to end an exciting football season." Early

Notes: Giants
have won every single road game since the season opener against the Cowboys. Giants
Amani Toomer's first touchdown gave him the most postseason receptions in club
history, passing Mark Bavaro. Cowboys
were the first No. 1 seed in the NFC to lose in this round since the NFL went
to the 12-team playoff format in 1990. Cowboys
were 2-0 versus the Giants, and continue their record of never having beaten the
same team three times in one season. Cowboys
Tony Romo is now 0-2 in the playoffs. Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips is 0-4.
Cowboys haven't won a playoff
game since 1996. Next
