Game Notes:
"It's hard to sit there freezing in the stands the whole game watching
and waiting and hoping for your team to pull ahead and then they pull
just even and they do it by gambling on going for two points after the
touchdown. Then the defense
that gave up 28 points has to hold the fort until the end of the fourth
quarter to get us into overtime. Well, they did it, and I have to admit
that Brandon Jacobs fired up the crowd and Derrick Ward warmed my heart
each time he broke out with one of his outstanding runs. There were lots
of anxious moments and lots to get excited about almost every play in
this game. The Giants played with heart and as long as they all work at
keeping me warm this way, I'll be happy to sit out in the cold and cheer
for the rest of the season, which I'll have to do now that they won the
home field advantage for the playoffs, and I'm glad for it."
Game Notes:
"What
a game this was. Last time out the defenses on both teams were dominant.
This game it was flipped and both teams were able to move the ball and
score points. The Giants had to overcome giving up 4 touchdowns. They
had to come from behind. They had to go for 2 and make it work, and they
had to win in overtime. Eli Manning directing the offense, and Brandon
Jacobs, and Derrick Ward with their commanding running games, were the
obvious standouts, but you don't want to overlook some timely catches
by Kevin Boss, Steve Smith and Amani Toomer. You have to give the defense
a bit of a pass considering the level of competition, and this was just
the kind of game you hope to see at this time of the season heading into
the playoffs."
