Game
Notes: "It sure didn't look good when
the Eagles scored on their opening series, and the Giant went three and out on
theirs, but the Giants didn't let us down. They held the Eagles to only two more
field goals for the rest of the game and won it 16-13. That's
a little closer than I'd like, but still it counts and now the Giants are 9-4.
Think back about how you felt when they were 0-2. The way they were playing you
wouldn't expect to see them having a winning season, and now there's almost no
way they don't show up in the playoffs. I'd just wish they'd win some more games
at home so we could get to see it first hand instead of on TV."
Game
Notes: "From watching Eli's
first pass to Plaxico Burress, incomplete as
he barely turned around to acknowledge it, you would have figured the Giants were
doomed. By the end of the game, Burress reeled in 7 passes for 136 yards and 1
touchdown. He looked like the Plaxico of old, very active and mobile. Brian Westbrook
didn't play in their first meeting, and of course couldn't be stopped. He ran
for 116 yards and caught 5 passes for 38 yards and 1 touchdown, but the Giants
did manage to get him to fumble once. Manning turned that into a 20 yard touchdown
pass to Plaxico Burress. Andy Reid made some questionable decisions. He had
the Eagles go for it on a fourth-and-one from their own 35 yard line early in
the first quarter when they were up 7-0. They made it but it was basically gambling
when you didn't have to. Why give the Giants any chance at getting the ball there
so early in the game? At the Eagles 32 yard line with a first down at the two-minute
warning near the end of the first half up 7-3 and with only 1 timeout, he had
McNabb throwing passes knowing that the Giants had all 3 timeouts left. Three
incomplete passes and the Giants had the ball back with plenty of time to score,
which they did. Tynes kicked a 23 yard field goal, and guess what? The Giant won
this game by 3 points." Early
