Game Notes:
"This looked like one of those games where a team might beat itself. The Saints rushed their plays in the first quarter and then skipped an easy field goal, attempting a trick play that didn't work. Jason Pierre-Paul was all over that and as a result, at the end of the first quarter the score was 0-0, but the Saints were threatening. They scored the first points of the game when Drew Brees hit Lance Moore for a touchdown early in the second quarter. The Giants came back with a field goal, but that's all they had and by the end of the half they had given up a ton of yards and two more touchdowns.
They gave us some hope when they scored a touchdown to start the third quarter to make the score 21-10, but the Saints answered with two more of their own. Eli Manning and Victor Cruz were impressive, but they couldn't match Drew Brees score for score. The Giants play at home next week against the Packers and it would be nice if they can get a win before they travel to play the Cowboys, but I might be dreaming a little here."

Game Notes:
"Where to start on this one? The biggest weapon the Giants had to slow down Drew Brees was their pass rush, but it was ineffective for most of the game. That allowed the secondary to be open for some big plays. Drew Brees took advantage, throwing for 363 yards and 4 touchdowns. The defense came away with no sacks and no interceptions. The Saints also ran on the Giants for over 200 yards. There were opportunities, like when Aaron Ross dropped an interception when the game was in reach, and of course Eli Manning's pass, pulled away from Jake Ballard in the endzone for an interception, didn't help.
The running game did not really get back on track, gaining just 73 yards, so once again it was all on Eli Manning and his receivers to move the ball. They did pull off a number of big plays, especially Victor Cruz's 72 yarder. Eli Manning passed for 406 yards and 2 touchdowns, but a bunch of that came after the Saints had a big gain and were willing to give up yardage and points and clock time to end this one sided game.
The Giants got trashed and you can try and factor in that left tackle Will Beatty and Mario Manningham were out. They were up against the NFL's top ranked offense, using Mathias Kiwanuka and four rookies at linebacker, and there was no Michael Boley. They lost Osi Umenyiora and Mark Herzlich to ankle sprains and Hakeem Nicks was out for a while with bruised ribs. Will they do better next week when Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay team comes to town? The Saints did their thing and the Packers are neck and neck with them, leading the league in scoring after playing a variety of teams over 11 games.
