Notes: "To say that
the Giants were 'lackluster' would be an understatement. The Broncos
were playing like their lives depended on it and the Giants looked
like they would rather be home eating turkey dinner. I couldn't
believe it when the Broncos coach had his team go for it on a
4th-and-5 at the Giants 29-yard line in the second quarter. Who
would give up a sure fieldgoal and rather face the tough chance
of making a long yardage first down against the NY Giants defense?
Of course they made it. The offense was no better and they
finished this game without scoring even one touchdown. Eli Manning
threw a lot of passes and even Brandon Jacobs caught three, but
there was no consistency with Eli throwing one interception and
being sacked three times. The running game was nonexistent except
for Danny Ware at one brief point, but he showed his inexperience
when he fumbled the ball away. The lone shining star was Lawrence
Tynes who scored all the points for the Giants including making
a 52 yard fieldgoal! Some of the players didn't look too happy
on the sidelines with their teammates, and they'll need to get
some fire going for their next few games against all three division
teams."
Game
Notes: "You
don't often see the Giants heading into the locker room at halftime
with zero points on the board and down by more than two touchdowns.
They even had the ball on offense with as many opportunities as
possible considering they won the coin toss and chose to take
the ball first. By the way that's a choice I never understand.
Why would a football team pass up the chance to start off with
the ball on offense in the third quarter after the half time break
knowing more what they're up against? If they're ahead at that
point, they get to pound the other team's defense right away.
If they're behind, likely their own defense is hurting and in
need of a bigger break. Anyway, linebacker
Chase Blackburn had more time to prepare for this game than before,
filling in for Antonio Pierce, but even that luxury was cut short
by this Thanksgiving day traveling schedule. As a fan you want
to hang your hat on the fact that the Giants poor gameplay was
due to the traveling schedule, the edge the Broncos had playing
at home (even with the same schedule) and the sudden losses of
Antonio Pierce and Ahmad Bradshaw. Now the Giants have extra time
to prepare for a familiar Cowboys team who will also have extra
time but be the traveling team." Early
