Game
Notes: "They
say Eli Manning can't play in cold weather. Well it wasn't all that cold at the
stadium today except for the cold stares of disbelief from the fans from what
they were seeing on the field. It was as if someone spiked the Giants Gatorade.
They didn't seem like the team you're used to seeing and they didn't seem to recognize
themselves or where they should be on the field. Sometimes it looked like Manning
was passing to invisible receivers and when he did hit someone with a pass they
couldn't hang onto it. Some of his passes ended up in the hands of the Vikings
defenders. They converted all Manning's interceptions into touchdowns and believe
me not too many people were around to see the final score, Vikings 41-17. Who
knows, maybe it was colder than I thought."
Game
Notes: "Somebody quick! Call
a challenge timeout. Refs - check the Vikings IDs. That can't be the worst ranked
pass defense playing against our team. In fact, check the Giants ID's too. That
can't really be them playing so lousy!! In the past it sometimes looked like maybe
the Giants offense didn't know what they were doing on the field. This time there
was no doubt. At the half, Eli Manning had completed just 6 of his 20 passes for
92 yards, and he had thrown 2 interceptions. They were 2 of 8 on third downs and
when they pushed the issue, didn't make it on their only fourth down try.
Special teams set the tone for this game when Lawrence Tynes kicked the opening
kickoff out of bounds to let Minnesota start at their own 40 yard line. Not to
be out done, the defense let Tarvaris Jackson, leading the worst passing defense
in the league, throw a touchdown pass on his second snap. In contrast to Manning,
at the half Jackson had completed 6 of his 8 passes for 110 yards and 1 touchdown.
Things didn't get much better in the second half for the Giants. Manning did
rack up some yards and one touchdown, but he finished with four interceptions.
How bad was this game? Eli's brother Peyton was in the stands wearing sunglasses
so no one would realize he was related to anyone on the field." Early
