Game
Notes: "What happened? I really
didn't expect the running game to go anywhere because lately it never does, but
I thought Eli Manning would be able to throw against this Eagles defense. He didn't
have an easy time of it with the way they were coming at him. Our offensive line
wasn't giving him much support, and in fact that goes the same for getting Brandon
Jacobs some running room. They played like they were in a daze or rather like
a visiting team. I don't know what happened tonight. The defense had their
hands full playing without Michael Boley and somehow that translated to no pressure
at all on Vince Young. I love the Giants and hate it when our home fans boo the
team because you know that they're out there trying on every play. That didn't
seem so obvious to the crowd in this game and the boos rang down. A win certainly
would have encouraged the fans that the Giants wouldn't once again lapse into
one of their second half nosedives, but that didn't happen tonight.
This team needs to show some spark real soon."
Game Notes:
"I figured that Michael Boley's absence
would be key to this game if the Giants
lost, and the defense did manage a notch better than I expected without him. After
all, how often do you win games by scoring only 10 points? We're not going to
go to the record books to look it up. Let's just say not many. They pulled in
three interceptions on Vince Young, but failed get the Eagles offense off the
field when they needed to. It was up to the offense to carry the game this
week and they weren't up to the task. The offensive line was manhandled, with
Eli Manning being sacked 3 times. The unit let him down and they managed only
12 first downs, with two of them coming off of penalties. Since the Cowboys won
their game earlier today against the Redskins, they moved into a tie with the
Giants for first place in the NFC East.
That was the Cowboys third straight win and they are on a roll while the Giants,
with two straight losses, look like they're about to roll-over. Scoring:
