Game Notes:
"Both teams had put four-game win streaks on the line, but the Giants
showed that beyond a doubt they are the one to beat. It's been exciting
to watch this team this year at the stadium, because they continue to
deliver for their fans at home. This was their sixth win at home in six
games, and I'll take all that I can get. Watching the Giants score on
their first three possessions for a 20-0 lead over a team that's considered
to have a tough defensive unit gave the fans a real feeling that the Giants
are going to go all the way, and I can't wait to see them play next week
against the Arizona Cardinal's, even though I still root a bit for Kurt
Warner who used to be our quarterback a few years back."
Game Notes:
One of the Ravens worst nightmare
has to be Bandon Jacobs. He single handily destroyed their running defense,
racking up 73 yards and 2 touchdowns, and that was against a defense that
has given up only 65.4 rushing yards per game this year. Jacobs might
also be Jerry Reese's worst nightmare as the Giants General Manager might
regret not agreeing to sign him to a long term contract. Brandon Jacobs
will be a free agent at season's end and will be very expensive to retain.
On the other side of the ball, the Giants tough run defense that held
Philadelphia's Brian Westbrook to only 26 yards on 13 carries last week
and haven't permitted an individual 100-yard rusher yet in 2008, came
through again. They held the Ravens Ray Rice to just 19 yards on his 8
carries, and Willis McGahee picked up only 18 yards on his 9 attempts.
They did let rookie quarterback Joe Flacco scamper for 57 yards, but if
the quarterback on a team is your leading rusher, it usually means you
lost the game, which is exactly what happened today to Baltimore.
Flacco played well and passed for 164 yards and 1 touchdown, but the Giants
nailed him for two interceptions, including the one that Aaron Ross returned
for a 50 yard touchdown. He looks like he has the right stuff, but that
won't be a problem for the Giants, just the other teams in the AFC North."
