Notes: "It was a beautiful night for
a game, and you always always hate to lose, but it was an exciting game. Two very
good football teams were on the field, and the Giants maybe could have won this
game if a few things broke their way, The defense almost picked off balls by Peyton
Manning a few times, and there were too many bad calls by the refs against the
Giants. That offensive pass interference call against Tim Carter was a real killer.
The defense had trouble getting to Peyton Manning, but what team can do that?
Tiki Barber was on his game both running and catching, and Brandon Jacobs has
certainly improved over last year. They both accounted for more than half the
yards gained in this game. The Giants were behind from the start, but you realize
that the Giants came close and lost this game to a Colts team that went 13-0 last
season, by just 5 points. It would have been closer at 2 points if Jay Feely made
that 40 yard field goal in the second quarter. That's what makes you say - 'Wait
until next week.'"
Game Notes:
"Same old Giants - what's changed
since last year? The bottom line is this. I saw zero improvement from Eli Manning,
He still misses his receivers and makes sloppy throws. The defense was a no-show
against the pass. Get the ball to Tiki is still the rule, and as an added bonus,
Jeremy Shockey could have foot problems once again.
Anyone who would want to see a Manning vs Manning Super Bowl is crazy. If the
Colts get there at the end of the season, they will have figured out some sort
of running game which they clearly didn't have tonight. The Giants couldn't stop
them without it, so don't even think about wanting that matchup. Now to cheer
you up, realize that the Giants were beaten by Peyton Manning, one the best quarterbacks
you'll ever see play the game. Also, I have to give the Giants defense a pass,
so to speak. Let's face it, you can't get to a quarterback who can get rid of
the ball as soon as he lays hands on it." Early
