"The
Giants came up short today and it was some game to watch, even though we lost
in the end. It was actually the very end when the Panthers kicker made a 63-yard
field goal to steal this game away from the Giants.
Earlier it was exciting
to see Odell Beckham Jr. throw that touchdown pass to Saquon Barkley which got
us back into the game, trailing 17-10 in the second quarter. Someone mentioned
that Beckham then had more passing touchdowns than receiving this season. It sort
of erased the play in the first quarter where Beckham didn't field the ball properly
on a punt return play, and the Panthers ended up with a touchdown."
"Things
didn't go the Giants way today. Special teams play didn't help them out, but they
were down just 20-13 at the half. The defense was holding its own despite allowing
Cam Newton to complete 8 of his 9 passes for 92 yards and one touchdown, and the
game should have been tied. They turned the tide on Newton in the second half.
His completions dropped to 50 percent, and though he threw one more touchdown,
he also had two interceptions.
The Giants were able to catch up, and even go
ahead in the last minute. It was tough to see them lose this game the way they
did for the effort they put in. Credit the Panthers for their special teams play
today. The Eagles are up next on a short week, but at least the game is played
at home, and maybe they'll even have Olivier Vernon back to play."
