"I wasn't expecting that the Giants would be down 14-0 in the first quarter. They went nowhere on their first possession, and then Eli Manning threw an interception on the second. All of that, by the way, with no first downs on their two series. Last week Eli Manning completed 11 straight passes before missing on one, today Manning completed on just three of his first 12 passes. The defense tightened up before letting up on a big pass play in the second quarter that went for an Eagles touchdown. The Giants had scored two field goals by that point so the score was 21-6. The Giants gave me some hope, coming right back with a touchdown on a 13 yard touchdown pass to Sterling Shepard. The score was 21-13 in favor of the Eagles by the end of the half.
The third quarter started with the Eagles going three-and-out, and the Giants added another field goal to cut their lead to five points. On the next drive the defense stopped the Eagles on a 4th-and-goal at the one yard line. I though things were turning around until Manning threw another interception, and then an Eagles field goal put them up 24-16. Robbie Gould kicked his fourth field goal of the day on the next drive for the Giants to help close the gap again, but 24-19 became the final score.
The Giants offense was on the field for some long stretches, but just didn't have it today, settling for field goals instead of touchdowns. There were some plays that looked like pass interference, but they didn't get the calls. The defense looked real good once again, and it looks like that's how this season is going to play out for the Giants, a strong defense keeping a weak offense in the game."

"The Giants finished up over the Eagles by a wide margin, ahead in first downs, total yardage and time of possession. Unfortunately, they were also ahead in turnovers and that's what cost them the game. There could have been as many as five of them, as Rashad Jennings and Dwayne Harris each let the ball get loose, but the Giants recovered both times. You can't take back interceptions though, and Eli Manning threw three of them.
The first one came on the Giants second possession when Manning aimed the ball at Will Tye and Malcolm Jenkins grabbed it for a 34 yard interception return for a touchdown. Manning's second interception in the third quarter was by Jenkins again, and the Eagles turned that into a field goal for a 24-16 lead. As bad as those were, Manning's third was the killer. After marching down the field from the fifteen yard line, and with fourteen seconds left in the game, a pass to Will Tye at the 5 yard line was intercepted. A touchdown would have given the Giants the game. Instead they finished with a 24-19 loss.
In this game the defense was good, but they did let up a few times. There was the Eagles first possession where they allowed them to easily move down field and gave up a long
25-yard touchdown run to Darren Sproles. Then in the second quarter, Eli Apple was called for an unnecessary roughness penalty on Carson Wentz. There was hardly any contact, with Apple sliding to the ground as well, but that penalty call probably affected Apple, because on the very next play he was beaten by Nelson Agholor for a 40-yard touchdown.
Later on in the third quarter, Olivier Vernon was called for roughing the passer to put the Eagles on the Giants 23 yard line. The defense came up with no sacks on the elusive Wentz. They just drew penalties it seemed, whenever they got near him. They did hold up against the Eagles on a 4th-and-goal at the Giants 1 yard line.
The Giants had an opportunity to clinch a first postseason berth for the first time in five years. It can still happen this weekend depending on how other teams win or lose in their games. If it's up in the air, Washington will be just as eager as the Eagles were today, to keep the Giants from making it into the playoffs in the last game of the regular season."
