2 TD, and had 1 fumble. Larry Donnell caught 6 passes for 34 yards. Victor
Cruz caught 3 passes for 31 yards. Sterling Shepard caught 4 passes for 25
yards. Roger Lewis caught 1 pass for 24 yards and 1 TD. Will Tye caught

Notes: "The Giants really needed
a win here today and it didn't look
good at the start. The Ravens had the ball first, and the Giants, after three
plays, had them at a third and nine, but Joe Flacco threw a deep pass for a 41
yard completion. Flacco's next third down pass went for an 18 yard first down.
Luckily the defense was able to stop him on the next one, and the Ravens settled
for a field goal. After the kickoff the Giants had their turn, but it didn't
last very long, just one play. Eli Manning hit Odell Beckham Jr. with a short
pass and he fumbled the ball back over to the Ravens, who now had great field
position at the Giants 30 yard line. Baltimore turned that into a touchdown and
a 10-0 lead. After that, when the Giants gained just two yards to go three and
out, there were boos coming from the MetLife Stadium crowd. The Giants were not
only losing this game, but their home field advantage as well. Cheers finally
came the Giants way when they started moving the ball in the second quarter. Things
looked bad when Odell Beckham Jr. got hurt on the second play and had to leave
the field, but the Giants continued to drive downfield. It looked like a new star
was born when Roger Lewis caught a 24 yard pass from Eli Manning for a touchdown
to get the Giants on the scoreboard for the first time. On Manning's next drive
he tried to get something going with almost no time left, and he threw an interception
to end the half with the Ravens leading 10-7. The Giants looked good at the
start of the third quarter. They even went for a fourth down and three play at
the Baltimore 37 yard line, and ended the drive with a field goal to tie the score
at 10-10. Then the Giants looked bad again on the third play of the next drive
when Manning threw another interception that gave the ball to the Ravens at his
27 yard line. The defense held and Baltimore settled for a field goal. Then Beckham
once again had the Giants off the field after just one play, but it was for a
good reason this time. Beckham took Manning's pass 75 yards for a touchdown and
a 17-13 lead. Now the fans were really cheering, because we were ahead for
the first time in the game, and also for Beckham's comedy show on the sideline
with the kicking net. The Ravens moved closer in the fourth quarter with a field
goal, but the Giants matched that right away with one of their own. The killer
looked to be the Ravens touchdown drive that put them up 23-20 right at the two
minute mark. Then the Giants had no choice but to go for a fourth and one at their
own 34 yard line. Beckham stole the show again when Manning hit him with a
pass that went for a 66 yard touchdown and 27-23 lead. Beckham drew a penalty
at the end of the play with more antics, but the defense was able to hold off
Baltimore. They got to field goal range at the Giants 29, but needed a touchdown
to win. The defense batted down Flacco's pass in the endzone and that was it,
a 27-23 win for the Giants. This game sure had it's ups and downs for the players
and the fans. Now the Giants are off to London for the next game with the Rams.
Be sure to set your alarm clock early next Sunday!"
Game Notes:
"The Giants got to play at home after two road trips, and they made the most
of it with this win over the Ravens. Overlooked will be the fact that they rushed
for only 38 yards, their lowest total of the season, and that was after the much
anticipated return of Rashad Jennings. To be fair, there were 17 running plays
compared to 46 passes. Jennings had 9 chances and gained only 15 yards. Bobby
Rainey didn't do much better on his 6 carries for 13 yards. Paul Perkins did the
best running with the ball twice for 10 yards. The receivers were the stars
today, and the headlines tomorrow will
be filled with Odell Beckham Jr. highlights, first for fumbling the ball away
on his first catch, and then for all the good. Beckham caught 8 passes for 222
yards and had 2 touchdowns, but I hope they don't totally ignore the bad. The
football field is not Beckham's personal playground even though he behaves as
if it is. If it's all about team, it's not about one player constantly trying
to steal the show. Give a small measure of respect to the players who were
also responsible for the win today. Especially don't hurt your team by gifting
an extra 15 yards to the opposition. The Ravens needed every yard to get downfield
in their last effort to steal the game away. Beckham's showboating after his touchdown
catch gave them a better shot. Vince Lombardi once said, 'When you go into the
endzone, act like you've been there before.' Victor Cruz was shut out last
week, but had three catches today, including one on a fourth-and-five that helped
set up rookie Roger Lewis' first touchdown. Sterling Shepard caught 4 passes for
25 yards. The tight ends and running backs were all reliable targets for Eli Manning.
Larry Donnell and Will Tye combined for 8 catches on 9 passes for 49 yards. The
running backs were also 8 of 9 for 52 yards. The Giants evened their record
to 3-3 and now they pack their bags,
and I mean really pack them. They're off for a long road trip to Twickenham Stadium
field in London to play the Los Angeles Rams (the home team). Then they can enjoy
a long bye week before facing off with the Eagles."
