By DAVE KLEIN
When the draft is complete,
teams stay frantically busy signing free agents, those players who
didn't manage to get claimed but might have what it takes to make
a roster. The Giants have often managed to find a few gems along
the way (last year's nominees are middle linebacker Chase Blackburn,
safety James Butler and defensive tackle-defensive end Jonas Seawright,
for instance).
The year before they found cornerback
Curtis Deloatch and defensive tackle Damane Duckett.
So, while the team hasn't released
any of the names yet (contracts must be received, physicals must
be passed, etc., etc.) a little research has produced this list
of undrafted players signed by the Giants in the last week or so.
The accuracy contained herein is almost guaranteed.
The
(partial?) list is:
Defensive
tackle Marcus Green, 6-1, 295, Ohio State.
Defensive
tackle Sir Harry Anderson, 6-4, 305, Oregon State.
Tight
end Darcy Johnson, 6-5½, 255, Central Florida.
Strong
safety Trevis Coley, 6-1, 225, Southern Mississippi.
Guard
Matt Lentz, 6-6, 315, Michigan.
Quarterback
Ryan Hart, 6-1, 205, Rutgers.
Defensive
end Willie Evans, 6-2, 270, Mississippi State.
Running
back James Sims Jr., 6-0, 205, Washington.
Offensive
tackle Na'Shan Goddard, 6-5, 315, South Carolina.
Wide
receiver/tight end Anthony Mix, 6-4 ½, 235, Auburn (4.47 speed).
Defensive end Thomas Carroll, 6-4, 260, Miami (Fla.).
