Next week -
Atlanta:
What are they saying about the Giants? Click here to find out.

Well, we tracked down Gamegirl for our report.

"Can't we talk about the Jets this week?
They won 20-9 over the Dolphins."

Come on Giants, we can't lose Gamegirl to those Jets fan pages.

"How about those Yankees?", she said, hoping to avoid the unavoidable.
"OK, the game was a disaster! Happy? I said it!
I can't fault the Giants defense, but I think the offense has to do something out there too if they want to win a game.
The Bucs weren't all that impressive on offense, but they turned it on when they had to in the forth quarter to salt the game away. Their running back Dunn was very impressive to watch, and meanwhile, our former first round draft pick, RB Wheatley, wasn't even suited up for the game.
It's like we don't know what we're doing with the offense from week to week."

She spit it out fast and seemed happy to get it off her chest.

"That's all I'm going to say about the game, except that the "War of the Barbers" as Mikefan was calling it, was won by Tiki's brother Ronde.
He got one of the three interceptions against the Giants, and even shoved his brother Tiki out of bounds on one play.

Also, I liked hearing Jerry Glanville's commentary on the game.
He can make you laugh even when it hurts to watch, and it hurts a lot these days."

Mikefan
didn't even give us a chance at questions, so we just let him go at it.

"The only thing worse than the Giant's offense these days is the stock market, except that the Giant's have bottomed already. Total rushing was 64 yards.
Passing was 71 yards on a paltry 2.4 yards per play!
There were 3 interceptions that led to 17 of the total 20 points.
Third down efficiency was 2-12."

"Maybe we should go back to the good old days when the same guys played both sides of the ball. Tampa Bay time of possession was almost 39 minutes, and the Giants defense was out there most of the game anyway.
Imagine Jessie Armstead as a running back!
In fact, let's make over the whole team. We'll get rid of the quarterbacks - and no passing downfield (which is the way we play now anyway).

"We'll work with a whole team of running backs who occasionally toss the ball over the middle pileup just to keep the other team from stuffing the run every play. We can't do any worse."

Mikefan got serious again for his game review.

You can't praise the Tampa Bay offense in this game either.
If you take away the Giants mistakes (3 interceptions) what do you get? A 3-3 tie.
Tampa did manage an effective time wasting 3 point offensive effort against our worn out defensive unit to totally seal the win in the final quarter. But that was it"

OK Mikefan. Don't just complain. What's the fix?

"I don't know!
Get Jason Sehorn and Corey Miller back.
Get Sam Garnes and Jessie Armstead and Richard Harris healthy. Wait a minute! These are all defensive guys!
Come to think of it, the offensive unit is all healthy!
What indeed is the problem?"

Maybe we need Dan Reeves back?
His Atlanta team scored 51 points on Sunday!"
Now we know Mikefan was really at the end of his string!
